Lovely place found in kansanga (city outskirt), with vast practical information about the contemporary Arts in Uganda and also with a space where artists can carry out Residencies from.

In Kampala's vibrant heart, nestled amidst the city's hum, lies 32° East, a creative oasis designed with one purpose only..."to ignite artistic souls". Stepping inside is like stepping into a canvas of raw inspiration. It is indeed a promise of art's boundless potential, waiting to be unleashed, one creative spark at a time. But even with its potent magic, 32° East yearns to breathe deeper, a future where its premises stretch wider, embracing more artistic journeys.

I love this place. They do generous work for young creatives to blossom into professionals. I used to do graffiti and photography classes there for free. Can’t wait to see what their new location will look like once it’s construction is complete. To more art!

In a world where climate change is a growing concern it is refreshing to find a green building constructed out of earth dug up from site and shingles shaped from the timber used during construction!
