U can rely on Google Maps for this location without any worries. They charge Rs.600 for an adult and Rs.400 for a kid but my opinion is this ticket price is not worth what ur getting from this park. U don't have many birds to watch here and still constructions are going on. If u are really an animal lover u will not be happy to see how these innocent birds are caged in small cages where they do not have much space to move around. U will c a couple of small play areas where kids can enjoy and many small restaurants. You have ample parking space here for your vehicle. My opinion is that management should think more about the concept if they really want to give a better experience to the public.

Not very satisfied with the experience. But I have to admit that seeing such a fantastic assortment of birds that you don't expect to see frequently in our nation was a genuine treat. in particular the variety of parrots. Their wide variety of colors captivated me. The park is not well-kept, and both the visitors and the birds appear to be unhappy there. The cages for birds are extremely small. There is not enough room for the birds. Bird photography is permitted with proper supervision. Undoubtedly, the environment was fantastic. However, the park may be improved. The parking lot was rather disorganized, and no help was offered. There are restrooms and a cafeteria, which serve wonderful but pricey food.

Not recommended. Poorly maintained and managed. Small cages. Poorly maintained. Birds can't handle the heat with these conditions. We could see the amount of stress of that poor parrots. Just 5 cages and some rubbish for 600/- rs. 🦜. Not recommended. P.s. The car park is such a mess.

Big no. All birds are confined in small cages. people are allowed into some small cages where they are allowed to handle birds etc where you can see obvious distress from the birds. This is a typical zoo setting there is nothing of a park and it is clearly not an eco tourist location. Saw a lady with a macaw where people were taking pictures with it.the bird was chained and the bird handler was rough with it and it was considered more of a picture prop than a living being. If you are into bird watching you are better of at a wild habitat or a natural reserve. There was a bloody shooting range setup at the bird park with targets and air Soft rifles which is considered part of the recreational activity.

A good place to relax mind. Birds are been taken care of here. You can see a range of birds here but most of them were parrots. There were three restaurants. They have quality and delicious food for a fair price ( price is a little bit higher than regular restaurants ). There's a shooting range too. And you can take photos with birds ( with birds on your hands ) too. They can make the place better by making bird cages bigger to a size that birds can move/fly freely because the cages were small like a zoo. Felt that the bird they take out for visitors to take photos with was too tired from it. ( But they took it inside it's cage once it got tired ). Has very small cages with small birds inside of the first restaurant. Didn't like that because there was no enough room for them to move around/ fly freely. They allows you into a cage where you can feed birds. That cage was too small for that though. It's better if they can make a bigger ( A huge one ) cage for that so those birds won't be forced to be fed. Kind of a zoo setting going on, it's better if they can make it less of a zoo setting.

This place is still under development They charge 600 for adults 400 for children (school kids with uniform - 200/=). Only 6 kms from Kandy town. Few birds are not in cages and allowed to be touched by visitors. There is a separate cage where you can go inside and feed the birds. But you have to buy the feed for 50/100 from there and there was a long queue from the opening time. There was another Macau, which you can touch and take photos with, but it's leg was tied to an elastic rope, and there were always 2 or 3 keepers near it for safety. Cafeterias and washrooms are available inside. There are plenty of attractions and birds to take photos with It's worth the price for children, but adult tickets are not worthy! There is much room for improvement but overall a good experience.

The entrance ticket is pricing 600rs. Its not open fully. There are so many kind of birds there. But its not completed. If you want to take photos with birds, you can visit there. It costs 100 rs for each individual. And the bird feeding seeds costs 100rs. If its fully completed may be worth to visit this place. There is a place of shooting which costs 300 rs for 3 bulltes. There are also places which you can get photos with blue big parrot.

Value for money is fairly average. A mid-tier selection of birds, mostly parrot and cockatoo variants. We weren't able to enjoy it too much because the cages are all too small for the number of birds in them, and not enough food and water for them. Some of the attractions like the archery and shooting ranges were unmanned, and half an hour later when staff did show up they said it was unavailable because of a power outage. The "restaurants" aren't really restaurants, they're just street stall type places with only short eats and snacks available. Some alright photo opportunities and decent play areas for younger kids.

Entrance fee is reasonable. Ample parking. A good learning activity for kids. Archery, rifle shooting, birds feeding are some of the activities available for adults. Heaps of scenic areas nd arrangements to take photos. Many varieties of colourful birds. Rest areas and meal areas with tea, coffee & foods available within the park. Leisurely require about minimum 2 hours to enjoy this beautiful park, or you can spend the day with family and friends.

Value for money : NO The ticket is LKR 600 for an Adult. The place is still under construction. There are more restaurants (not restaurants though. Places you can grab something to eat) than birds. You can't see a vide variaty of birds. The place is full of weird cement statues. Even though place is new you can clearly see that decision makers are very old school. It's a typical sri Lankan bird prison. Birds are literally getting roast in the inside the iron cages. No shelter no water nothing. Poorly planned. Pathways go all around the area. There's no proper way to cover everything. They have randomly put cages everywhere they can. Poor use of sign boards as well. Can cover the whole area in a wheelchair. Toilets are everywhere. There are no signs but you can find them near the snack joints. I still don't recommend this place to anyone unless you have a 2 year or 3 year old fascinated to see some kind of birds. there are three play areas for kids. No extra charges but you can't use it by the mid day due to the heat. A good waste of time and money.

Not worth for the ticket price we pay for this place. It's better if they reduce the price till they complete the whole project since only Phase - one has been completed todate. Not many varieties of birds and the cages are small for the birds to roam freely. The management should take immediate measures to upgrade the cages. Also the restaurants don't have many food choices. Ample of Parking Spaces available. Even though there are few positives in this place, overall the experience is average. Hope this would be a great place once all 3 phases are completed.

This place is full of birds to look and to be educated on them. So many kinds of parrots, ducks etc. Plenty of free parking is available. Photo locations and small restaurant areas are available inside the park. It is situated in a jungle and you have to walk around to caged birds all over the place. You can get the experience of feeding the birds which is at a cost actually. Also you can have the experience of a big parrot siting on your hand or shoulder. Entrance fee is charging for adults and also children. (600/-& 400/- respectively at the time) They also have a shooting range and a archary range but it will be at an additional cost.

Ticket is Rs.600 per person. Not sure whether there's a different amount for the kids. Caged birds everywhere and most of the birds appear to be from Australia. Most of the birds are parrot species. It's still under development therefore there's a limited number of birds available. Have to pay extra to feed them and pet them if that's something you're interested in doing. The surrounding is quite clean and well kept. However some of the cages are quite dirty and look unsafe for the birds. Don't think there's enough experience for the amount you're paying. Better to avoid the place for a while at least till they develop the area.

Place is very small and not worth the price of the ticket I went there with some foriengners and their words "least worth the money" the feeding area was okay but then again have to pay Extra over the 600 rupees (locals) and 2000 rupees tickets. Most of the places are not build yet and wished to see more variety of birds. Wouldn't recommend.

Needs construction. Lovely experience. Great tourist attraction that needs attention. Noticed that people are feeding birds, mari and other biscuits. Put staff near every bird cage. If you are planning on covering the area with a dome, the birds will be happier in the park. The bird near the children park is very tired, please do not do this to innocent birds

Overpriced place. Enterance ticket is 600 lkr per person. You have to pay seperately for feeding birds. 100 lkr for aticket and 100 per bird food pack. Caged birds everywhere. Although the place is new, some bird cages are not well maintained. Place is very clean and tidy.

Hanthana International Bird Park Review: Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Hanthana, the Hanthana International Bird Park promises a captivating experience for nature enthusiasts and bird lovers alike. My recent visit to this avian haven left me with a mixed bag of impressions, combining the joy of witnessing diverse bird species with a few considerations for improvement. **Arrival and Ambiance:** Upon entering the park, the serene atmosphere immediately transported me into a realm of nature's symphony. The lush surroundings and well-maintained pathways create a peaceful ambiance, enhancing the overall visitor experience. The park's layout allows for a leisurely stroll, making it accessible for all age groups. **Avian Diversity:** One of the park's highlights is undeniably its rich avian diversity. From vibrant parrots to majestic eagles, the collection of bird species is extensive. Informational signs throughout the park provide interesting facts about each species, adding an educational element to the visit. Bird enthusiasts will find themselves immersed in observing and learning about the feathered residents. **Interactive Exhibits:** For those seeking a more hands-on experience, the park offers interactive exhibits, allowing visitors to feed certain bird species under the guidance of knowledgeable staff. This creates a unique opportunity for visitors to connect with the birds on a more personal level, fostering a deeper appreciation for these fascinating creatures. **Maintenance and Cleanliness:** While the park generally maintains a tidy appearance, there were instances where cleanliness could be improved. Some areas showed signs of litter, detracting from the overall aesthetic appeal. Enhanced efforts in waste management would contribute to a more visually pleasing and eco-friendly environment. **Educational Programs:** The park's commitment to education is evident through its informative displays and scheduled educational programs. However, there is room for improvement in terms of organized guided tours or interactive sessions, providing visitors with a more structured learning experience. This could enhance the educational value of the park for both children and adults. **Visitor Amenities:** Basic amenities such as restrooms and seating areas are available, ensuring a comfortable visit. Yet, the addition of more shaded spots and perhaps a small café could enhance the overall visitor experience, especially during warmer days. **Conservation Efforts:** It's commendable that the Hanthana International Bird Park emphasizes conservation efforts. The park's role in breeding programs and habitat preservation is crucial for the protection of endangered species. Highlighting these initiatives more prominently could further raise awareness among visitors about the importance of wildlife conservation. **Conclusion:** Hanthana International Bird Park offers a delightful escape into the world of birds, showcasing the beauty and diversity of avian life. While the overall experience is positive, addressing minor cleanliness issues, enhancing educational programs, and improving visitor amenities could elevate the park to greater heights. It remains a charming destination for families, bird enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature's winged wonders.

One of the best activities in Kandy. Don't miss this and specially the bird feeding. Had an amazing time with the family. They also have around three Cafes and toilets. It is also strategically located in an amazing hill top where you can spend hours staring through the beautiful green mountains. Plenty of Parking spaces. There are also horse rides available in this area. Don't forget your camera for some beautiful clicks.

The moment we visited the place, we felt we did a mistake by coming here. It was really sad and my heart felt heavy when seeing birds caged into so small cages. See the videos below, their screams brought tears to my eyes. There wasn't enough space for them to fly. What's the point when they're having wings but can't fly? There should be a proper way to build this place. 😭💔
