Good place for an evening Korean BBQ. It is missing some key Korean BBQ features but overall OK you cook you eat. Good to slowly pass some quality time. Liquour is available. Nice ambience. Tavern 29 is managed by Ganga Addara.

This is also callef as the infamous "Ganga Addara". They have large portions for food and food tastes nice. Good for outing with friends. It's built up above the Mahaweli river so imagine the view there

Great view and excellent service. The beer served was cold and refreshing. However food was a bit downer. We ordered fish and chips. Fish was very dry and portions too small. In egg sandwich that we ordered there was hardly any egg. Most I felt white bread only. There were table for barbecue outside but we did not took it because of mosquitoes. For two beers and two dishes we paid ₹1650 ($10)

It's a nice cosy bar in the hills. You get a nice view of the river while enjoying Korean BBQ. At the time of the visit only few people were available barman / waiter was quite attentive and dispensed our orders pretty fast. Food was really good considering similar establishments. This place has a nice quirky wall ment to take many selfies

One of the most chill spots in kandy to grab a drink at a very reasonable price. Place has a good assortment of cocktails and some good combo offers. A great view of the mahaweli river and extremely friendly staff. Afternoons are good for a lunch date or a quick brunch. A decent crowd is drawn to this place at night and is safe place for guys and girls alike. The spot is also frequented by tourists and people who love a calm environment.

This was a wonderful surprise .. visiting this haunt. We called over very late eve and were so taken in by the ambience & set up. It's slat bang against The Mahawelli River & has a romantic aura to it ...! The Korean BBQ is novel; but, could definitely do with more Vegetables + appropriate Sauces. A specific Waiting Staff Member was so ... effervescent ..! Did add so much value to our experience.

Calm and peaceful atmosphere with a good view of Mahaweli River. Good to spend your evenings. This place used to rack up quite a crowd but now usually few people can be seen. They had a long menu but only few items are made available and that’s probably because of COVID-19 complications. I’d give 3 stars for the food but their Ganga addara special rice stands out from the rest.

The view is good, the transportation is difficult, the ambiance is bad. I was charged 40 dollars but they came back to my table because I was only 20 cents short. Bur Sri Lankan people have zero business sense. I will be in Kandy for 2 months and I am looking for a place to go regularly a couple times every week but this is not it. I will never go back to a business that comes back to my table for 20 cents for a 40 dollar bill. And they add 10 percent extra. I have already been there, you have to serve me, why are you charging me 10 percent again? These Sri Lankans

Better place for korean bbq.

Amazing indoor-rooftop open area for cozy lovers. The view of the river creates an excellent atmosphere for staying at the place. The food was delicious.

Nice ambience but has very limited veg options (This is acceptable when you are at a place surrounded by ocean - Sri Lanka) Prices are good as compared to other restaurants and bars. Had spring rolls and liked them very much... Fingerlicious.

This was way above our expectations, we were just looking for a place to have a beer and some food, and the Korean bbq pictures cought my eye. First of, if you have had a lot of Korean bbq this is probably not going to be the most amazing you have ever had, but what you will get is still pretty great, everything we got wes all fresh and tasty. The setting is just great with a view over the river and a huge tree perching over the veranda where you sit, so when all the bat's take off for their evening hunt the whole experience is elevated. We only did the Korean bbq so I will not speak to the rest of the menu, the cocktails where not so great though. Right now it is hard to find the place since you have to walk trough a construction site to get in, we almost turned around because it looked dodgey, but once you get in the place is clean and well maintained. I'm giving five stars because it beat all our expectations and this is a great way to spend an evening. Points to improve would be the cocktails / and juice and the sauces that were really strange for Korean BBQ.
