This place offers you the freedom to pick and choose to your heart's content. Perched on top of the KCC parking garage building, it's a fantastic spot for a delicious meal. 🍽️ Managed by the Department of Agriculture and staffed entirely by women, each vendor offers freshly cooked food that you can purchase directly from them. 👩‍🍳 With a curious palate, I tried a variety of dishes, and I must say, the options are plentiful, and the prices are budget-friendly. 🪑 You'll find separate counters for different Sri Lankan food and sweets, making it a breeze to explore the culinary delights. 🍛 Everything I sampled was not just tasty but reasonably priced. The prices are clearly displayed at each counter, so there's no need to endure long queues, even when it's crowded. 🍽️ The menu boasts a rich selection, including string hoppers, milk rice, hoppers, dosa, pastries, rice, wade, pancakes, kola keda, Kurakkan keda, fruit juice, cutlets, kokkis, masala, pittu, mani pittu, rolls, and a delightful array of sweets (Unduwal, Dodol, Aluwa, Kaum, Halapa, Puddings, and more). 👥 The staff is not just efficient but also very friendly. The place is clean and well-maintained, with an open kitchen where food is prepared fresh and served piping hot. 🌾 Here, you'll find mostly vegetarian options, prepared with minimal usage of wheat flour. Instead, they focus on using rice flour, kurakkan flour, pea flour, and other local ingredients to create healthy, hearty dishes. 🧼 Additionally, there's a hand wash area, and paid parking is available. 👍 If you found this review helpful, please mark it as such to encourage more detailed reviews that help others discover and appreciate wonderful places! ✅

Many varieties of food at cheap prices. There are separate counters to buy different varieties of Sri Lankan food and sweets. All the items we bought were tasty. Some of the items include hoppers, Dosa, string hoppers, pastry, rice, wadey. Prices are mentioned in each of the counters and no need to wait in long queues even though the place is crowded since the crowd is distributed among the different counters. Highly recommended place if you visit Kandy

If you’re looking for a true local experience you have to try this place. There are small food stalls where you can choose your preferred dish and after you van sit down with the locals and eat with your hands. When you finished you can wash your hands. The servers don’t speak english so you can pointing on what you want. Super local, super good food, super cheap.

It is a place where you can choose whatever you want. Ladies cook each vendor and you will get freshly cooked food by paying directly to them. I tried so many as I was curious of them. The drink (kola kanda) was very rich and flavorful, coconut rice based foods like 'kiribath' 'lavariya' 'hoppers' are very delicious. As I was the only one foreigner, locals looked at me curious and one Sri Lankan Lady approached asking if I wanted to try another and offered with kindness. Very good place for authentic food experience - eat like locals.

Bring small bills - everything here is 20 rupees or so, and sold in small quantities. The food is very good, and allows you to try some authentic Sri Lankan food as Sri Lankans themselves have it. I particularly liked the hoppers with chilli relish from the woman on the right-hand side which were a mere 12 rupees each. The empenada-type parcels at the end of the right hand side were also excellent. One of the most enjoyable meals we've had and ridiculously cheap. Buy water from the seller next door.

Hela Bhojun outlets are managed by the Department of Agriculture and run by only women. The outlets are spread across srilanka and you get excellent and healthy food at this outlets. This are Veg only outlets that offer various dishes like Dosa, Kottu (Roti), Wada, Jalebi, Soup, Juice etc. This are open kitchen and food is prepared fresh. The rates area really reasonable and food offered is really tasty. One can easily identify this outlets across Srilanka and surely trust them with the food. The women managing this outlets are well trained and really friendly.

This place was brilliant, full of locals eating there so you know it was authentic Sri Lankan food! You order at counters so there is no table service. Really good if you want to try lots of different small things. Everything we tried was delicious and very cheap. Service wasn't great but only because I didn't have any of the local language and some locals did try to push past me in the queue for dosa. Apart from that, it was a brilliant experience and would definitely return!

Hela Bojun Kandy is a very good place in Kandy to eat food for cheap a person can buy food easily for 500 rupees. From all kinds of Sri Lankan food such as hoppers, thosa, string hoppers and rolls. You will delight in these foods at such a cheap price. You can fill yourself up easily for 500 rupees. The food is made on the spot and it is very rare that any bacteria or food poisoning germs are in it.

I really wish I could give this 5 stars because I really like it, but there needs to a be a small improvement in the consistency of the food. Sometimes you get a freshly prepared item and other times they give you something that is prepared a while ago. The price is great and the location is convenient with ample parking.

Here you can find a quiet a variety of vegitarian foods at the most reasonable price at Kandy! Most of them are Sri Lankan foods. There were couple of Non-Veg items as well. Price of the foods were extremely low and the quality must be appreciated. This is located at just walking distance from Dalada Maligawa and Kandy City Center (Shopping Mall). Parking can be found at Kandy Pulic car park, which is at the lower level of the same building. This resembles a street food experience as you can taste a variety of Vegetarian foods under the same roof on different stalls.

A wonderful place to get local foods, and cheap food as well. I have tried Keselmuwa cutlet and sweet potato cutlet, which are fried dough with spices, great to eat on the move. I’ve tried also Aggala which is a sweet pastry. The popular Hoppers is also served here, with sour dhal and spicy chilli paste, tasted like a crispier and thinner dosa. Next are Kurakkan Roti and Balancing Roti, which are round flat bread that are quite tough, and served with chilli paste. Overall the experience has been great.

Best place in Kandy to have Sri Lankan traditional food. Food is delicious. They make fresh food like different kinds of dosas, rice with jackfruit curry- dal-egg-papar, hoppar/egg hoppar, dal/lentil pakora, coconut cake, malpoya, coconut balls, different kinds of coconut desserts, juices, different kinds of tea and coffee and even fresh milk. There are lots of other foods as well. Their foods are vegetarian. They follow hygiene and food safety. I really enjoyed their food.
