To get there you’ll have to walk up there. There’s a slight misdirection in Google Maps. The advantage of walking up top is the environment that feels incredibly good. You could take a bath on two spots specifically. Upper parts kinda too depth but the low part which we took a bath was okeyish. Better take all your stuffs there ain’t any shops to buy just a small shop. Definitely a spot to visit.

Hunnas waterfall, also known as Hunnasgiriya falls, is located about 22 kilometres from Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in Matale District near the village of Elkaduwa. There are two roads to reach Hunnas waterfall, one is coming from Matale to Elkaduwa, the other is Wattegama to Elkaduwa.

Beautiful waterfall. But If you go to the waterfall, this destination given by Google map is wrong. Just get the location, Hunas Falls Waterfall Entry And you will be directed to the entry point ( ticketing counter)of Hunas Falls waterfall. Can walk until the base of the waterfall. If you need to swim, go to the down part of waterfall. There's a small tank about 4.5 feet deep. Safe enough for a adult to get in and bring a child. But on a rainy day paths can be slippery, anyhow there are some hut to protect from rain. Got some room to enjoy yourself within the premises. There's a small Parking area for parking. Always someone there saying he will take care vehicle and will ask some money when return. There's a small entry fee, but only changed for adults they even work on 1st of May.

Beautiful place to spend the day. Can have a safe bath there. No much water during dry season. But rainy season, waterfall is more beautiful. Can go there by a car. Road condition is good. Entrance ticket is Rs.100/-.

One of the most popular waterfalls in Sri Lanka is Hunnasgiriya Water Fall, also known as the Hunas falls, which is situated in the Elkaduwa in the Kandy district. The waterfall is 48 meters in height and falls into two parts. This is a famous bathing spot as the waterfall is a famous one among the locals. About the location : Hunnasgiriya Water Fall is a man-made waterfall that belongs to the hotel which has the same name. Above the falls, there are 32 hectares of land consisting of an artificial lake and that too belongs to the hotel. This beautiful waterfall is fed by a stream from the nearby mountain peak named “Hunnasgiriya mountain”. Hunnasgiriya waterfall resides At the center of Hunnasgiriya Estate and this particular area faces every climate condition in the country. The drive towards this waterfall is a very scenic one that offers many beautiful views around the area. Though the nearby hotel is quite popular among honeymoon couples, having this beautiful waterfall in the vicinity with a breathtakingly beautiful mountain view invites local as well as foreign travelers alike to come and enjoy the unspoiled beauty of Sri Lanka. The woods around the waterfall is home to many kinds of trees that are special to Sri Lanka as well as it is also a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife and flora. Before you visit this beauty, remember to inquire about the rainfall in the area, since the waterfall may have lesser water in the dry season. Even with less water, the waterfall is still beautiful with its’ surrounding nature and this place is a highlight in the Kandy district, which definitely makes it a must-visit destination in Sri Lanka.

Hunnasgiriya Waterfall is a hidden gem nestled in the lush landscapes of Sri Lanka. My visit to this natural wonder left me in awe of its untouched beauty and the serenity it offers to nature enthusiasts. The journey to reach Hunnasgiriya Waterfall is an adventure in itself. The hike takes you through dense forests and meandering paths, surrounded by the sights and sounds of a pristine environment. The trek is moderately challenging, making it suitable for both seasoned hikers and those looking for an exciting outdoor experience. Upon reaching the waterfall, you're greeted with a spectacular sight. The cascading water, surrounded by lush greenery and towering trees, creates a picturesque setting that's perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. The natural pool at the base of the waterfall is a refreshing spot for a dip on a hot day. What makes Hunnasgiriya Waterfall even more special is its remote location. The absence of large crowds and commercialization allows you to connect with nature in its purest form. The tranquility and sense of isolation are perfect for those seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. In summary, a visit to Hunnasgiriya Waterfall is a must for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and experience the untouched beauty of Sri Lanka. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the serenity of the outdoors and create lasting memories of your adventure.

Overall experience - 6/10 You have to buy a ticket for 100 rs per person. You can go to th top of the waterfall as well as to the bottom you have two ways.upper part is bit risky due to slippery rocks but you can enjoy to the maximum. We had a bath on the upper part which is bit deep. But there is a seperate naturalpool kinda area with less risk to swim and have a bath.

Calm and nice place to relax your mind. I've visited here by a car with low ground clearance, so road conditions are better than other waterfall routes. My thought and as I heard this is not a natural waterfall. If you want to take a bath , there's a concrete pool at the below part of the fall.Pool was somewhat disturbed by garbage. So please don't forget to bring back all the things that you've carried...

It's very beautiful there. Bathing is also possible. There are leeches. Hut has been beaten like that, you can see the beauty from there. As it is the end of April, the water is a little low. 150 ticket. The waterfall is very beautiful.

It used to be all natural about a decade ago. We could climb to the base of the fall and take a cold shower. Now there is a man made pool down the stream. You have to pay a nominal entrance fee as well. On a positive note, they have maintained the surroundings quite clean. There a clean lavatory as well.

Discover one of the beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka with easy access. The entrance ticket is 150 rupees. It's a well-maintained and fantastic place for a family day out. For more travel videos, find me on YouTube or TikTok – Ahmed Riffky.

Around 200m hike from the road to the waterfall. Anyone can easily reach there. There is a fee to enter to see the falls, it is Rs100 for an adult the time of review. Not enough water to have a bath when we visit.

There is an office area to buy tickets to visit this waterfall. Tickets price Rs.100 per adult and kids are walk free. Last ticket price updated (11/07/2022) Beware of leeches. An area infested with leeches. Rub something like salt, Siddhalepa, soap or Dettol on your feet to get rid of them. The beautiful waterfall there is upper small fall is located and see from hunnas falls hotel.

Hunnas Falls is located near the village of Elkaduwa in the Matale District. The day we went, not allowed to go near the falls due to renovation work. The entrance fee is 100 rupees per person. Anyway, Hunnas Falls is beautiful.

Great place with a nice view, but not a good place for a bath. The place is full of leaches in rainy seasons

  • 5/5 Олег . 2 years ago on Google
A very nice place with a nice waterfall. Bathed. I advise you to check the weather in advance so as not to get into the rain. We got there by tuk-tuk and noticed a lot of dangerous turns, which are even more dangerous if it rains heavily.

👍👍 Lovely lake with a scenic view⛰️. Best to travel on a sunny 🌞 day. The climate is a bit cooler up there. The road is terrible though therefore you probably need a 4x4🚙 vehicle to get to the top or Vehicles with high ground clearance like a van or something similar. Three-wheelers are available at...
