I stayed there for 2 nights just for rest and transit on my way to Elle. Host was really nice fella and the staff was super helpful and friendly. Had dinner there and staff made really delicious chicken fried rice. Morning view is amazing. It’s on uphill but the view is great though. Breakfast was good. They could do Better with cleaning spider and spiderwebs from beds.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff they do their best. Awesome breakfast. So cheap as for such a great stay!

Seriously recommend staying here. Super helpful staff, nice location, rooms are clean, spacious, and great value for money. Was even shouted drinks and was given a phone cable when mine wasn't working.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The host was good. But this is for the locals who are coming in a vehicle.. There is a really steepy part at the front of the hotel.. We found it really hard to get the car up... So won't recommend to people who have cars.

This hostel is such a nice place ! It’s a group of friends welcoming you warmingly, the rooms were very clean, had air conditioner and warm water. It is just enough far from the center to sleep in the quiet and near enough to walk to the city in 15min ❤️ Just be careful of the sharp turn in the steep part if you arrive with a motorbike ! 😅😂

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was good. The best part was the breakfast!! You can choose between local breakfast, English breakfast or even oatmeal if you like. It’s very tasty and generous. It’s a 15 minute walk to the center and it’s a nice walk alongside the lake. We would come back here for sure.

Staying here is a must! Not only are the rooms beautiful, comfortable, clean and spacious, but the owner and staff here are incredible – individually and as a team. I was only meant to stay for 2 nights, but kept extending until 5 nights. Truly, this place feels like home. They have amazing service, and a full restaurant downstairs. Not to mention the hotel has an incredible view of the mountainous jungle below. It is about a 30 minute walk to town, however they have Tuk Tuk’s here at almost any time of day that can assist with your needs (if you do not feel like walking). I hired a Tuk Tuk two different days to tour Kandy. The driver was an incredible tour guide and showed me so much of the city/area I would not have seen otherwise. As a tourist traveling alone during COVID-19, I have run into some slight problems. The owner worked tirelessly to help me solve some of them, and because of him we were able to achieve the impossible. He will go out of his way to help anyone and will ask for nothing in return. This hotel treated me like family, and I will be forever grateful to them. Thank you so much Mirabe Kandy by Fund Bunks, I will definitely definitely be back!! 10/10 !!!

The best budget hostel with nice staff. The hostel on the top of kandy hill from where you can enjoy scenic kandy. You stay will be worth paying. The food was great.

Extremely friendly host who helped us with several tours and activities to do whilst in Kandy. Highly highly recommended. Breakfast was fantastic and very good value. Dinner was great too! Located just outside of the city, decent 20min walk in but you can access everything. Very steep hill to access property, so either TukTuk or get your hike on!

I can say that this is the best place I ever stay. The environment surrounding is quiet and calm. The facilities in the room excellent. The staff of the hotel very supportive. I feel like at home. They provided us a great Sri Lankan breakfast on our request.

Want to enjoy the busy city of Kandy yet be tucked away from the noise of it. Come up the mountain (only 300 meters) and chill with the morning sounds of birds instead of Tuktuks. Anurahda runs his hotel which has rooms with balconies overlooking those below. Clean and comfortable rooms, adequate wifi, and the usual tasty breakfast.

This place was really colourful. I fall in love with the wall arts and also gotta mention the hippie vibe. Funks Buns is the highest situated hostel in Kandy and the view from balcony and roof.. the best! The owner was very welcoming and helpful, he recommended me some things what to do in Kandy and what Sri Lanka can offer me at all. About the cook. Jagha, not only an excellent chef, but a man with a heart in the right place. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who looks for a nice hostel experience, because this is more than a place to stay.

This place is unique with a lot of artsy decor and paintings. Food is superb especially the pancake they prepare as I requested it. It's also value for the money since the rate is cheap, however, getting there is quite steep and I can't get use to it. Always feel scared. The view from the room is perfect! During our first night, the owner treat everyone of the guests drinks and food to get us all acquainted and it was really nice to socialize again with other travelers. The staff were nice but they can be imposing. For the rooms, it would be nice if they have exhaust fan, since it starting to get mold due to moist.

Great hostel, nice people working there, really good food and a very relaxed atmosphere! The Price is really cheap and it’s located in a quiet prt of Kandy. We made a hike with Ishan to Katusu Konda (lizzard back) and it was really great, he is a guide that’s always at the hostel, he knows everything in and around Kandy :)

Just came to home from this small but real hospitality place. My family and me willing to go back to this place. Price are very reasonable and food was mouth watering tasty, clean room well arranged. My 10 years old son was so upset to leave the hotel and staff's. Happy to say this place was awesome and highly recommend.

Best stay in Kandy...quite green and social

The staff, especially Chats and Ishan, were absolutely fantastic. For the incredible price of the stay I cannot fault Funk Bunks. Ishan would take us around the city in his personal time with no hidden agenda or gains, other than to have fun with the guests. Chats, the manager of the hostel did everything he could to make the stay the best possible. He took us to his private home where he cooked dinner for us, gave us great entertainment and wanted nothing in return. This is how you run a hostel. I wish you the best of luck in the future. Laid back hostel on a hill in Kandy. The room was comfortable and large, and the staff were really friendly! We were supposed to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 4. They had really great dinners each night, and also a live band playing music on one of the nights which was really fun!

If you're after a great, affordable stay in Kandy...then this is the place! The host was super helpful and lovely...and very kind indeed. He was always on hand to offer advice and help in anyway he could. We had a blast staying there and met some lovely transient friends. Oh, and the pancakes were amazing! We're looking forward to seeing him again when we revisit Kandy. 😁

Great hostel. IP the jmhill just heading out of town. Bit of a hill to walk up but also all the tuk tuk know the place.use the pickme app its dirt cheap from town. I preferred to walk. Bout 25 mins to centre of town.lovely host very helpful. Nice balcony views, kitchen available, washing machine, huge beds, thanking sized double rooms. Dorms also available.huge lounge area downstairs. Google the name, find the number and call for a quote of it's on bookings.
