With 5 rooms and 4 charming butlers at hand around the clock, this really is a house more than a hotel, though one that looks like it belongs to a heroin trafficker due to its lush, gaudy decor. Stone House’s terrace is particularly pleasant and breezy and offers gorgeous views on the surrounding hills and distant mountains.

Stone House in Kandy Sri Lanka is a wonderful place to stay. The meals were delicious, room very peaceful and luxurious and the staff very caring and attentive. We only stayed one night but would definitely recommend The Stone House.

We spent our honeymoon at Stone House because the original plans got cancelled last minute and it was the best thing that happened and we were lucky enough to discover this place! Stone House is truly a hidden gem in Kandy, once you enter, you feel completely drifted away to a quite, tranquil haven. The architecture is on point, attention to detail at its best! Not just the interior but the garden, how trees and plants are positioned, the color coordination, all of it. The staff was the best I've ever come across in Sri Lanka, better than in any star class hotel. Whoever that trained these people have just done it right. They knew how to respect our privacy while being warm and courteous at the same time, they made sure we got the best possible treatment, and the best thing is they had no clue we were honeymooning and we just told them when were about to leave. And then the food! There was one pink salmon dish with olive oil that I can still taste! and a very generous serving of fresh cheesecake with blueberries. Every dish was mouthwatering and their service made it even better. All of their suites are equally breathtaking but the "Kalu" suite is the most spectacular one, and make sure to book this suite if you're looking for an experience like no other. Stone House has got concept of boutique hotels right. It's everything you can ask for and more. Total value for money. If you're a Kandyan and you think the surrounding might feel too familiar for a getaway, it's not, it's a whole another world. Stone House set the bar so high and now we've come to rate and judge every hotel we visit by its standards!
