They advertise on website that the stay is donation-only, but after filling and submitting an application form, a foreigner is told to pay 2500 LKR a day. I understand how profit-oriented beach-side sales vendors would set different prices for locals and foreigners, but not for a spiritual organization.

This place is truly a hidden gem. I spent 4 days here which were 4 of the best days in my life. The center is nested on a hill, so we are surrounded by nature and the visit of animals. People are very friendly, helpful, and humble. There's a daily schedule which I think is very helpful for beginners to follow to cultivate a fruitful practice. The room is basic yet very nice, the vegetarian food is incredibly amazing which reflects authentic Sri Lanka local cuisine. The teachers - the nuns and monks are also amazing people and easy to talk to, they'll teach you great lessons about Buddhism and meditation practice. I had a perfect retreat here, beyond my expectations and I'm still so grateful for the chance to stay here. If you want to deepen your meditation practice, or just want to begin your 1st step to meditation with a serious attitude, this place is for you. I will come back for sure.

My stay at the paramita center was the perfect balance between stillness and receiving teachings. The place is nested beautifully between green mountains, i felt so connected to the nature around. The people working there are utmost warm and welcoming, very pleasant encounters. Also, they take such good care of the grounds and cook the most delicious food i had in sri lanka. Thank you so much again for all your doing. The teachings and practise come as an invitation, perfect to find your own pace and answers, discover what you really need, discover your own connection to yourself and being peaceful. I intentionally searched for a non-western Center where you are able to receive dharma and paramita was everything i was looking for. Go there!

After spending 3 weeks at the Paramita Buddhist Center, I improved my β€˜not thinking’ and kept with the meditation regime since then (it takes 21 days to create a healthy habit). The ground of the Center is a big wonderful garden on which different buildings are placed, my favorite was the big meditation hall and the library. The (2) monks and nun are kind and all the staff is super friendly and helpful. I really liked the meals =) and the group meditations. The noise from the street could be a handicap for some, but since I am living in a city, I have to learn to deal with sounds anyways. The schedule gives you time for yourself and your own practice. Long term accommodations are quite basic, if you are looking for a luxury meditation retreat this might not be your place. Hopefully I will come back again one day. Thanks for letting me stay with you!

Such a beautiful place to meditate. It's a really well design meditation centre... Spacious meditation rooms Comfy cushions Beautiful plants and flowers Calming walkways, paths and bridge As well as the softer things that help meditation. It also has the rigour too... Multi meditation sessions daily Discussion group to discuss practice Extremely well resourced library And the nun leading the teachings is very well studied in Buddhism and clearly practices herself too regularly! Was quite quiet when I visited and can't understand why it's not used more. I've been lucky enough to visit a variety of retreats this year and this place is very very good!!

Although we just stayed 3 days at Paramita Meditation Center, it was an inspiring experience. Besides several meditations sessions spread all over the day, we also had interesting discussions with monk Bante about mindfulness and buddhism. I can highly recommend Paramita to anyone interested in meditation - with or without any previous experience (like us).

Beautiful place. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful meditation experience. You have access to a library and personal meetings with the monk. You only a brief schedule and have lots of free time to do what you please. You can stay for as long as you want and must donate a fixed price per day. 3 meals of delicious vegetarian food a day with your own private room. I stayed for one week. Would highly recommend it.

Beautiful ambience, great teaching, wonderful people serving, impressive library on meditation and Buddhism. A bit noisy because of the traffic downhill, however, I warmly recommend this place
