First you have to walk through the jungle for 10 km if you skip the waterfall that will take only 5km In the vehicle parking area There one small Canteen available Bathroom facilities available There one small Musium also available You have to pay for parking and entrance ticket Very poor Mobil signal aroun the whole area

Good 3-4 km walk from the entrance. Part of the walking track rated as hard/difficult and need reasonable fitness level to complete. Walking track from Little Worlds End straight towards the mountain (parallel to the cliff edge) is bit hard and going through rough vegetation area. There is a small gap next to the concrete platform where you can see the drop. Recommended to do round trip from the entrance to Little Worlds End, Worlds End and then to Bakers Falls. That way you complete hard section first. But if you want to do little bit easy way you can do it from Bakers Falls side as return trip.

30USD to get in is a rip off from the 🇱🇰 government. The 10KM hike is okay, but the path along the cliff between little worlds end and worlds end is really not well maintained, you have to crouch and you're walking through bushes. It can be dangerous at some point, you can go on the main path but you're missing the view which is what I suppose the reason you paid the entrance, right? The 🇱🇰 government is not reinvesting the money they get into the park. This is a current scheme I've noticed for all national parks I've visited in Sri Lanka, especially Yalla. It's not because we're tourists that we want to be treated like rich people. You add on top of this the taxi price to go and return (LKR 12,000 to LKR 18,000) and you end up spending a lot for something really not impressive. They built a whole terrace for looking at waterfall, which you won't stay more than 30 seconds because you get wet quickly. The only thing cool was the outdoor toilet. No drones are allowed and don't come with any plastic, except plastic bottle without label. Security checks at the entrance

World's End is a stunning cliff at Horton Plains National Park, Sri Lanka. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, with a sheer drop of about 4,000 feet (1,200 meters). This iconic location is renowned for its misty vistas and dramatic scenery, making it a must-visit destination for travelers seeking to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Sri Lanka's highlands.

The visitor center is the starting point for a 9 km trail from Horton Plains. This hiking trail is circular and can easily be covered in about 3 hours. The plateau has an abrupt end at "the end of the world", a magnificent chasm in the mountain that plunges to 880 meters. The best time for this visit is early in the morning (between 6 am and 10 am), before the arrival of the clouds and fog that often obscure the views at the "end of the world", especially from April to September. especially from April to September. You will be able to admire the tea villages in the valley and the views towards the southern coast of Sri Lanka. In the evening and early morning, you will need long pants and a sweater, but the plains heat up quickly, so keep a hat handy to protect yourself from the sun.

World's End is one of the most visited parts of Horton Plains National Park in Sri Lanka. It is a sheer cliff, with a drop of about 4,000 feet (1,200 m). The view from the top is simply breathtaking, and on a clear day, you can see for miles around. The hike to World's End is relatively easy, and it only takes about an hour to reach the top. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow, and there are plenty of places to stop and take in the scenery. Once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. On a clear day, you can even see the Indian Ocean in the distance. World's End is a must-visit for any visitor to Sri Lanka. It's a beautiful and unique place that offers stunning views and a great hiking experience. Some tips for visiting World's End: *Start your hike early in the morning, before the crowds arrive. *Wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. *Be prepared for the weather, which can change quickly at high altitudes. *Take your time and enjoy the scenery. World's End is a truly special place, and I highly recommend visiting it if you're ever in Sri Lanka. ❤️

This has breathtaking view from up.The Great World’s End Drop is situated within the Horton Plains National Park in Nuwara Eliya. It is a popular tourist attraction in Nuwara Eliya and in the entire country, while being the most visited part of the Horton Plains National Park. Great World’s End has a vertical drop of approximately 1200 m from a cliff. A 4 km trail through Horton Plains leads to this point of the cliff.

Great World's End is the most famous landmark in Horton Plain's National Park. It will take around 1.5 - 2 hours to reach from the entrance. Generally the World's End is covered in mist and on a lucky day, you will see glimpses of Hirikatu Oya valley & Nanpariel estate. Travelers must ensure their own safety & not go too close to the cliff. You have to purchase a ticket to enter and the visitors are not allowed to carry polythene products inside. Always carry a raincoat as the weather is unpredictable.

Landscape: 10/10 (it’s difficult to meet the sunny day, but if you can catch the weather before you visit so it’s perfect) Price: it’s not cheap for foreigner, about 4000 R.s Parking: Yes ** Remember you are not allowed to bring polythene bags or un-friendly material inside, there is a check point before you enter so make sure that if you want to bring food you can pack then into some boxes or cake/candy into paper bags 👍🏻 don’t forget to prepare water 💧 It’s a HUGE area so it’s match for someone like hiking 🥾 and discover the nature Cheer!!!

The World's End is an incredible destination with two roads to enter. If you choose the right side, you'll be treated to stunning views of Baker's Falls, Chimney Falls, and other breathtaking sceneries. Keep in mind that this route is the longest. If you choose the left side, you'll have a more challenging road but you'll be rewarded with the sight of a variety of orchid flowers and ferns. When you reach the end point, turning right will take you to another viewpoint, but be prepared for the cloudy weather, which is often common. For the best photo opportunities, it's recommended to take photos against a white background. Although a clear view is not guaranteed, it's definitely worth the effort. Apart from the scenic views, the World's End also offers a chance to observe wildlife animals. During my visit, I was lucky enough to spot a few animals in their natural habitat. It's important to note that plastic or polythene is not allowed in this area, so be sure to bring paper bags for your food and a cloth or iron bottle for water. The World's End is open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and it's best to visit in the morning for a pleasant experience. Overall, I highly recommend this place to tourists who are looking for a unique and memorable experience.

Authorities should erect a small outcropping deck with guard rails for people to view the drop and bottom better. We visited Great world's end in early June 2023. It was a great experience. The view was spectacular and thrilling. There is a open viewing deck and some stone outcroppings from which you can try to view the sheer drop. We held hands to go to the edge and get a better view of the village at the bottom of world's end. Anyway great experience and glad it was sunny when we visited.

Located within Horton Plains National Park, this trail requires the purchase of tickets for access. The total distance spans more than 10 km, with the journey to World's End covering approximately 4 km. The trail can be misty at times, and the views may not always be clear. Nevertheless, it offers a truly immersive experience amidst nature and promises an adventurous trek. Visiting this trail is undoubtedly worth it.

Awesome Nature experience with 3.5km trail . Feel glide through clouds. Misty days we cant see down side area while heavy mist. We have to wait and see down side through the horizon when clear sky. Rain time feeling is very different . Great Experience of Nature .

Wonderful place to feel nature.. Lots of scenarios to take pictures of.. You have to be careful when you planned to go there.. Ask about the climate and be ready with a good dress code..if you go on a rainy day it will be the worst day.. but we loved it after arrived home.. It took 5 hours to around the world's end .. Not a dangerous place

It's definitely worth trying! The tracking route is picturesque! Just, some parts of it are quite difficult for people having some health issues. And, in case of the accident, you won't get a quick help because there is neither mobile nor internet service.

This is one of the best view points to see nature in Sri Lanka. The view is the best but you have to be careful. It takes around 5kms to travel on foot to the world's end from the entrance. Don't bring any plastics. Take only pictures. Leave only footprints! Please save nature! ❣️

Not worth at all, especially when you call your home a European country with proper mountains. The entrance fee for foreigners is absolutely overpriced (~4000 LKR (incl. the extra costs for the tuktuk to enter and an fee for the tuktuk driver) vs 500 LKR for locals). Getting there very early as recommended by some people makes no sense at all since all wildlife will be still hiding in the patches of forest. And you will most likely have good chances on getting a good view at world's end even when you only arrive by 10 at the park. You might to have for some minutes for a firm breeze to clear the skies but that's definitely better then getting up at 4 just to do the same... tl;dr Cannot compete against the view from any peak of the Alps which are for free

It's an amazing place to spend time with nature and beautiful animals. And, we can have a nice time with our friends , family or partners. We have enough security and privacy. However, it's recommended to be aware of animals that live in the surrounding.

I have been here twice once was misty, 2nd time it was raining cats and dogs. Wisely choose what do you want do 1st as mist cover the view pretty fast. I did kirigalpoththa, Bakers falls finally great world's end in fact I did not see the beauty I should see due to mist. Park opens at 6.00am so I started earliest and avoided holidays too.

It's an extra ordinary experience. If someone likes to travel and get into the nature this place must be visited 🙂. Yet you have to trek through a very tiring path.

It is a sheer cliff, with a drop of about 4,000 feet. It is one of the most-visited parts of the Park. But most of the time whole scenery covered with mist. only If you are lucky enough you can see the whole scenery.

There are two roads to enter in to the world's end. If you choose the right side you'll be able to see Baker's falls and Chimney falls and quite good sceneries. But it is the longest way. If you choose left the road will be difficult and you'll be able to see varieties of orchid flowers and herns. When you reach to the end point if you walk on to the right side you'll be able to see another view point. But most of the time this place is cloudy. So you have to take photos in a white background. Only for the luck you'll be able to see a clear scenery. I went there two times but it was full of clouds. And most importantly you are not allowed bring polythene or plastic to this place. If you want to take food to this place you have to put them in paper bags and water in a cloth bottle or iron ones.

The perfect hike in a beautiful landscape with monkeys giant squirrels and tons of birdlife! The view at world's end if just one amazing aspect of the hike. The hike is moderately difficult, being both long (10km round trip) and on uneven ground, but totally worth it for the walk itself, everything you see along the way, and of course the view from world's end!

One of the most visited part of the horton plains. The cliff is about 800. The walk here is 3km - 4km. The best view with less mist.

The most beautiful place in the Horton Plains. To get here there's a common known trail from the Mini World's end. And there's also the trail coming from baker's falls. I've hiked here two times. In the first one we went through a shortcut from Mini World's end. In mini world's end there's two roads. The first one is the normal route and the second one is the road going uphill of the mountain. If you follow it with a experience guide if you are going for first time. You will see beautiful locations along the drop line of the mountain rock. The trail is very dangerous for kids but for adults it is manageable. You will hike along the side of the mountain with breathtaking views from your left side. This route will finally bring you to the normal trail just few hundred metres before the Great World's end. There are certain months that the wind is so strong that you can't go near the drop. Do your searches before going.

Good walk (about 13 km both ways)up to the top of the cliff. On a nice day beautiful scenery on the top. Anyone who likes hiking highly recommended. Not much facilities there but full of nature. Only for nature lovers. No plastic no polythene or any other litter. Don't miss Bakers water fall on the way back from the top.
