one beautiful place in thelgamu oya you can find while moving toward Atanwala village. visitors advise to not bath in the fall due to quickly rising water level. There is a bridge over the waterfall giving beautiful views of the surrounding.

This is a great place to have a bath in dry season. It is advised not to bath here. If you want to have a bath consult a villager. They will show you a safe place.

I give it 5 stars. Here's an excellent example of the sheer force of water. The sound of water finding its way among rocky terrain is simply amazing.

Wedda Peni Ella is situated in Pitawala (36km from riverston) in the Matale district. It stands at a height of 3 meters. The waterfall is is served by the Thelgamuwa Oya which starts its journey from the Kirigalpoththa Mountain and flows through the Atanwala village. Wedda Peni Ella is said to have been inhabited by the aboriginals or ‘weddas’. Locals believe that the wedda chieftain slipped and fell to his death here which gives the waterfall its name “Wedda Peni Ella”. Wedda Peni Ella Fall lies in Atanwala just below the new bridge. Above the waterfall is a safe place to bath. But be cautious, the water level in the thelgamuwa oya can rise at once. Road is only accessible through a higher ground clearance vehicle or a three wheeler/bike. Not too crowded.

Nice place to visit but dangerous to take bath. You will find this beauty when you travel towards Manigala hike. Nice place to take a rest And move forward.

It was not difficult to find the place as it was near the road. It is not a tall waterfall eventhough it was given its name as a waterfall. The water was rapidly moving as I went on a rainy day. Please save this great place to future generations.

A nice place with easy access to road. But a very dangerous places to bath when raining. There were many recent deaths due to ignorance of people. You will be safe unless you take unnecessary risks. Be careful when stepping to water because there can be broken glass parts.

If you like nature, then this is good place to visit. But you need a four wheel to reach there.

This waterfall is located somewhat isolated compared to other waterfalls in the area. The road leading to the fall is also bumby. But it is quite unique and worth the journey. The fall is located very close to the main road. You can have a good bath. But the water levels can rise even without rain to the area. There are recorded fatalities in the fall due to the sudden rise in water level.

Wonderful place in Riverstone Atanwala area. Blessed with beauty of the mother nature. But people must be careful in this stream because several deaths have been reported. Therefore avoid bathing here. Please do not litter the environment!
