Cottage of 1st person who planted a tea tree in Sri Lanka. I can't believe how much he was motivated to build this tea estate out of rough jungle. He was 17 y old when he came to this country. Today non of youth has this kind of spirit and enthusiasm.

You can see here the ruins of the James Taylor's Bungalow and a old well that believes he used. James Taylor was the person who started the first tea plantation in Srilanka, which is now known as Ceylon tea all around world. It is on the way of the Kondagala mountain top.

Don,t use short vehicles. You have to off-road to top of state nearly 5km. The view is very beautiful. If you are travelling to state I prefer to climb Kondagala also. There are some short cuts through tea plantation for hikers.

James Tailor is the person who introduced world famous Ceylon Tea to the world. He has been dedicated his life from age 17 to the Tea. He was not married, lived by himself. When he passed away the villagers of Loolkandura carried his body to Presbyterian Church of Kandy for the funeral service. It is interesting to study of tea.

Easier way to reach there through delthota but road is little bit damaged. Bike or a high ground clearance vehicle is more suitable than a car. After getting tickets have to go about 5 km and road is very narrow and damaged.

This cottage was built in 1865 by James Taylor, who was the person to introduce tea plantation to Sri Lanka. From the main road, you can reach near to the cottage by a vehicle and climb up a few steps to reach the cottage. A high clearance vehicle is preferred, though it is even manageable on a car. Only a few ruins of the cottage are available now.
