Location is very very good, near Kandy Lake view point. We stay two days here, Owners' hospality is very nice, she has cooked for us while eating we were impress. Breakfast, dinner food was very good. I shall recomened everyone to come here. The home stay was very nice, where was arroestocacy flavour. Also Owners were good behavior & kind. Hosts are very friendly, breakfast is very delicious,view from the room is great and the top level balcony is awesome as well. Be careful when you pick your number as some of them have a great view on the lake and some are not.There is no refrigerator, but they have ac and vents.We really enjoyed the service. Can definitely recommend this guesthouse! Great food options locally without having to walk into town (town is only a 15 minute walk through a shortcut). Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Breakfast was superb, served on the top floor with a beautiful view - the owner was so generous when we complemented the fruit jam (YUM) he even offered us some to take home! They have a tuk tuk with fair rates, so getting to places is easy. Thank you for our wonderful stay and amazing hosts.

Best thing is it is located within 15 minutes walk from the Kandy city. Friendly owners. Breakfast is good. Valu for money.

We spend 5 days at this beautiful, family-run homestay, and we couldn’t have asked for a better “home”. The married couple owning McLeods Inn are kind, welcoming and very eager to help their guest to the best stay in Kandy - with almost 28 years of running the place, they definitely know how to! The house itself is elegant, spacious and light with an amazing terrace, overlooking the lake, the city and the hills. Facilities such as WiFi, TV, shower and driving services were also flawless. The breakfast is fresh and filling - but also make sure to treat yourself to a dinner or two cooked by Nirupa and her mother! Their food is among the best dishes we’ve had in Sri Lanka, and she even taught us how to prepare different kinds of curry, sambol and rotti - one of our best memories from Sri Lanka. Our warmest and most sincere recommendations - hopefully we will be back one day..

Can warmly recommend this lovely Guest House. The owner and his wife are amazingly friendly the breakfast was tasty and plenty and the rooms are super clean. It's just 15min walk from the city centre but yet very quiet due to location! Definitely stay if you're looking for a nice place in Kandy.

Great guesthouse with good service and nice rooms. They also provide breakfast Prices are low for kandy. The rooms are fitted with AC, ventilator and a TV. Especially beautiful is the view over kandy. Via a shortcut u can reach kandy lake pretty fast (10min walk).

A lovely, VERY reasonably priced accommodation in Kandy. The couple running it are lovely, and I highly recommend it.

The breakfast was beyond what we expected. Excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and accommodative, always ready to have a friendly chat. The stairs on the side of the premises shorten the walk to the city to about 15 minutes. The room was in pristine condition when we checked in and also came with plenty of towels. To top it all off, the view from the balcony was breathtaking.

We loved this place!!! The room was perfect and from the balcony of this place, we have the beautiful view of all Kandy and the lake! We even saw monkeys and bats! This hotel is perfectly situated in Kandy, offering the very best! Out of the big city, but 5 minutes walk! And juste beside, there is a pizza restaurant!!!! The pizza is very good! Even better that some place in Montreal! The wash all our clothes perfectly ! I recommend this place!!!

Basic budget accommodation with great views. Costs about LKR 200 on a auto rickshaw, but can be trekked on a short cut route from Kandy Lake in 15 mins. The owners are quite friendly. Breakfast is offered in the morning.

Great value. Cool view of the city, extremely nice staff, rooms were clean too. They even dropped us at the train station free of charge. Really recommend!

We loved McLeod Inn for many reasons. The friendly guesthouse is quietly located on the hill, but still only 10 minutes walking from the lake in the center. Our room was very clean, simple but comfortable, with a super view on downtown Kandy. We enjoyed sitting on the communal balcony, having our afternoon tea. A delicious breakfast was served in their little restaurant (of course with fantastic view). Special thanks to Mr. Ashan for booking our train tickets to Ella. Without his help we probably wouldn’t have been able to do this memorable journey. Ashan and his wife have been welcoming travelers for many decades now and know how to make you feel at home instantly. Great service and valuable information, all straight from their heart. We definitely would choose again for McLeod Inn for a next visit to Kandy!

My partner and I stayed at the McLeod Guesthouse in Feb 2022 and absolutely loved it. It has an amazing location with incredible views over the lake, the rooms are spotless and comfortable, the breakfast and evening food were great and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We really appreciated being able to leave our suitcases with them whilst we went on a two-day hiking trip in the Knuckles Ranges. McLeod Guesthouse is just a few minutes from Expeditor so it’s very convenient if you’re going hiking with that company. The hosts very kindly bought train tickets on our behalf and were wonderfully accommodating throughout. They also have access to a very professional tuk tuk driver. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic view of Kandy from the main lounge area. Only 2 of the rooms have this view though. This family-run inn is very nice, well-priced, and the owners are very lovely and helpful.

What a place! Hidden gem from a price/quality perspective; amazing hosts, good breakfast and more than decent rooms! All topped off with a stunning restaurant balcony overlooking the city and its beautiful surroundings. Absolutely recommend

Insane view on the city! Especially from room 2. You can have the view from the balcony as well. Quality/kind of bed are uneven, in room two we had were too thin for us but our friend in room 6 had really thick mattresses. We only stayed one night, otherwise we would have simply asked to change for an other room. Good classic breakfast!
