One of the cleanest lakes I have seen. Well maintained. The pathway is so elegantly crafted here, plus the cool breeze makes this place unforgettable. Very surprisingly, one of the best things we've done in Sri Lanka was walk halfway around the lake. We walked from the local market to the dance place and then round to No Name Cafe. As we had time we took it slow and saw an abundance of animals. Keep your eyes around the edge of the lake. We saw huge lizards (including one eating a fish), kingfishers up close, big googly-eyed fish, pelicans, turtles, and many other bird species. A real delight.

To us, it is like any other lake located in the city and it’s nothing special to us. Good for evening walk to relaxation, The wildlife was incredible! Multiple monkey troops, big water monitor lizards, lots of different exotic birds and a huge abundance of fish. We loved our walk around! Also gave us some decent views too!

Most of know it as the "Kandy Lake" though its real name is "Kiri Muhuda. " Surrounded by the green, the kandy lake is the best place if you want to have a morning walk in this big city. They have set up bunks around the lake round so you can relax relax while watching the birds and the ripples of the lake. You can complete an entire round around the lake by walk and let's not forget the "Joy boat ride" if you are interested in going on a boat ride in the kandy lake!
