The temple of the sacred tooth relic is a must visit place if you're in Kandy. It's a World heritage site, and important place of worship for the Buddhists. One tooth of Buddha is worshipped here and there is a long history how it has been moved from place to place. There is a museum within the complex and a monument built in the name of Raja, the Elephant.

A excellent place situated in Kandy Sri Lanka, which is famous for lord Buddha and it's said that the left tooth is enshrined inside this premises. There's a security check at the entrance and free of cost. The temple is designed in a beautiful way which gives a visual treat. Visitors should leave their shoes/slippers and go in barefoot. This place is well maintained by the administration. They conduct some sort of ritual ceremony by 6pm daily, it was excellent to watch. Dress code is important, one should cover the shoulder and knees before entering this temple. The climate is cool in Kandy so it is highly recommended to visit.

The City Centre is pretty small but cute. Everyone is extremely friendly. The optimal stay is 5 days. Kandy is not a city for party. This is the spiritual centre of Sri Lanka. So make sure you have a guid which can give you deep insights in the World Buddhist Museum and as well in the Temple of the Tooth. You can reach other sights which are 20km around easily with TukTuks.

The sacred city of Kandy is the palace and museum along with the temple of the tooth relic. There is a man made lake along with the palace which helps for the water needs for the town. There are a lot of security checks but the place is worth a visit

Visited multiple time here, one of favourite place in Kandy. If you planning the visit to see Dalada perehera, come here little early around 4:30pm, you can see how the elephants are prepared for the perehera. And can take some super cool photos with them.

Well maintained and organised place. But as expected there is entrance fee for foreigners which I think is not necessary. You can get the feel of history of Sri Lanka . Don’t forget to hire a guide else you won’t understand a thing the caves.

Beautiful complex of temples, gardens etc on the banks of the River in the heart of the city. Best with a guide to explain the old history, the newer history & the story of the tooth relic. Need to store your shoes & wear conservative attire. Security including scanners present.

Kandy Lifeline The Temple of the Tooth can be named as a place of interest. This place gives us a breathtaking view during the day as well as at night. If you can book a day and visit this place, it's worth it. Do not forget to visit the beloved Raja Elephant when you come here. Thousands of tourists from all over the world visit this place every day and it will be very convenient for you if you carry limited equipment and only the items you need.

The highlight of Kandy. The Kandy tooth relic is a significant artefact that holds great religious and cultural importance in Sri Lanka. Said to be the tooth of Lord Buddha himself, it is enshrined in the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Visiting this sacred site was an awe-inspiring experience. The relic is beautifully displayed within its golden casket, draped in layers of delicate and vibrant fabrics. The atmosphere in the temple is serene and peaceful, making it a perfect place for reflection and spiritual connection. The historical and religious significance of the Kandy tooth relic makes it a must-see attraction for anyone interested in Buddhism and Sri Lankan culture.

The best time to visit is early morning at about 6 am, where you can see the temple of the tooth. This is the most sacred place for Sri Lankan's and has a strict dress code where all need to wear covers attire and no flashy colours. Would need to remove caps, hoods, and slippers/shoes when you enter.

I always treasure being at Kandy and visiting the Temple of Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Road access to the city is bit different and you’re gonna get stuck in traffic at office hours during weekdays for sure. There are many places to visit apart from the temple, the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, KCC shopping mall, Railway station, Ambakke Dewalaya, Bogambara are some of beautiful places you can go. Due to COVID-19 health and safety measures you have to wear a mask wherever you go, shop owners and the local authorities have provided hand washing facilities across the city. Some intercity trains are not in operation as they were used to be same as busses from Colombo. So if you’re planning to visit in public transport you better check the schedule through online platforms. I’ve added pics of Kandy before so the pics I’ve added are from KCC & the Magul Maduwa where the historical agreement of 1815 was signed between then King and the English administers.

Kandy is the hill capital of Sri Lanka. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. The city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession.

if you're traveling around Kandy city, must-visit place. It's a sacred Buddhist temple and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple houses a tooth relic of Lord Buddha, and it's a significant religious and cultural landmark in Sri Lanka.

The temple is definitely a must see when you are in the area. Beautiful on the outside and inside. If you come around the ceremony time, when the relic is shown, it is, however, the temple is darn crowded, you can barely move and have to wait for quite some time to get around the temple. Was still worth seeing it.

Kandy is one of the busiest and most attractive city in Sri Lanka. Great tourist destination for both local and foreign visitors. But the city is very inactive during the night after like 7pm. If you wish travel after those time better have arranged your own transportation. Kandy is a place where everyone must visit.

Kandy is a beautiful and peaceful city. Located in the hilly region of central Sri Lanka, it is a temple town. The biggest attraction here is a Buddha temple where they have preserved a tooth of Goutam Buddha. The temple itself is by the side of a huge lake. The premises also contain various Muslims. It is a peaceful and clean place.

KANDY IS MIRACULOUS AND YOU MUST VISIT! We took a day trip from Colombo to Kandy and came back to Colombo at night. The city has a lot to offer. We kicked off the day at Pinnawala elephant orphanage which is the largest in the world. We then visited botanical garden and tea factory. Then we went to the famous Temple of Tooth Relic. That was such an awesome place. In the evening we went to the top and had a beautiful view point of the Kandy city. Lastly, we watched the arts and cultural show to finish the day. Amazing activities, lovely time. Absolutely and highly recommended!
