I Witnessed a rugby match, was very cool

It’s near to Bogambara prison.. They got a big ground with running track. The ground is better to play rugby. Big car park is available. You don’t want to pay for parking.. You have to book this place.. In school sports meet days, it’s a very busy & crowded place. They got a modern gymnasium too.. You have to get paid membership for that..

The stadium is not up to date with facilities. It still has a turf track and no seats in all pavilions. However, the place is convenient and it is useful for many including school children, athletes, sports clubs and many more.

Excellent space for athletic games

This is government stadium and can be use for any athletic activities. Specially designed it for track and field sports. Most of the schools in kandy use this for their events and practices. The stadium has a seating capacity of around 2000. Bogambara gymnasium is right next to the bogambara stadium. It is a newly built facility with high quality equipments.

You can park there. Big stadium.

This is a public venture. Maintenance of the place is very unsatisfactory. I think this is a place that misuse public funds

Poor hygenic place, no sufficient light facility available in day and night time

The Bogambara Stadium is a multi-purpose grounds situated in Kandy. It is one of the oldest grounds in Sri Lanka and has a capacity of 30,000. It is mostly used to host rugby matches, especially the Singer Sri Lanka Airlines Rugby. The grounds was renovated in to a stadium in 1972. Bogambara Stadium serves as a venue for various sports ranging from Rugby, Football, Hockey, Athletics, Netball, Basketball, softball, and cricket. Owner is Sugathadasa National Sports Complex Authority.

The stadium shouldn't be charging rs.50 from school children who come for practices. Most of them come there several times a week and that is a lot for them to pay. It should be much less.

Main athletic ground in Kandy. Poorly maintained. The track is a grass track. Facilities are not good.
