It's a nice family-run boutique hotel just outside Kandy city. The hotel located just outside Kandy city close to B413 Haragama road. To get to the hotel you need to turn into a small village road and drive at least 500m. The village road is very narrow with steep inclines so it's not easy to navigate a large vehicle. They got one parking space inside the premises which is covered with a brick fence but if it's occupied you will have to park on the side of the road. There is some space to safely park a vehicle next to the hotel and the road is not busy at all. If you are coming from Kandy city google maps shows the rural road to the hotel but I suggest you take the main road A26 Hewaheta road and B413 Haragama road. The couple who host the place is super nice and very friendly. The room was small but they have used all the available space effectively. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was neat and cleaned. Above all, you get an amazing view. Always go to the room with the view of the valley or the river you will get treated to a nice sunrise in the morning. We had dinner and breakfast on our stay and the food was absolutely delicious. The dining area got a small garden with a view of the valley, it just feels great in the morning. You could make a reservation through booking.com or Agoda but in my personal experience, I got the best deal by directly contacting the owners. They accept cash or cards but no AMEX.

Very accommodating and smiley hosts. They have a lovely private balcony with a beautiful view. Rooms were clean and the air con was very good as well. The room also had a fridge to store cold water. Breakfast included fresh fruit, cooked eggs and very very fresh milk. Wonderful stay and hope to visit again.

Shame the owner was not accommodating about the fact that booking.com had not registered free breakfast for our booking despite being the same price as without breakfast online. Left a bad taste at the end of the stay. Ended up spending $10 extra for no reason, and unfortunately the breakfast was underwhelming and not really at the same level as breakfasts at other places in Sri Lanka

We spend there only one night but I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s overpriced, specially the breakfast for 1000 per person. Also note that the prices they offer are higher than booking.com By far the worse accommodation we were in our 15 days tour in Sri Lanka.

This was by far the best stay we had on our 3 week vacation! The owners were so kind and lovely, the room is very clean, the food is great and the view is amazing. Make sure to book the corner room with view on the lake and outside shower. :)

Beautiful place and a very friendly family running the villa. Food was superb. Ideal location away from the busy city of Kandy.

Where to start, this place really is magical. The views are completely stunning and such a treat to wake up to each morning. There was nothing that Aruna and Suranji won't do to help. They helped us with trips, washing, taxis and even helped us plan the rest of our trip around Sri Lanka. They are the loveliest couple and made us feel right at home in their beautiful home stay. Breakfast was delicious and we had different Sri Lankan dishes to try each day. We also ate there one evening and had an incredible Sri Lankan meal for only £5 each. The rooms are clean and comfortable with incredible views and a lovely balcony to sit on and enjoy coffee in the morning. We would love to return here in the future.

Excellent stay at villa arunalu for our honeymoon stay. Rooms are spacious and clean. One of the best views I have ever seen! The thing that makes this place amazing is the husband and wife team that run the place. They are wonderful cooks to start with and breakfast is great. I would recommend you stay for dinner one evening and sri Lankan curries are so tasty. The hosts also help you with arranging trips/taxis/resturaunts and negotiate prices down when they feel you are paying too much. They really look out for you. When we are in kandy we will be back!

Excellent experience in this small family-run B&B! The owners are so lovely and careful about their little gem and making their guests the most confortable possible, thank you for this great time in Kandy! The food was delicious from the breakfast (very complete and we appreciated the wood apple jam!) to the dinners for which Surenji always adapted to our preferences (not spicy etc.), she's really an excellent cooker!! Our room was clean, well equipped and confortable bed with a fantastic view! The position is a bit outside Kandy, which means very quiet and although some people commented about the distance, actually it's only a small tuktuk ride to the city centre and we really appreciated the lack of noise after busy days vising Kandy! Thank you Surenji and Aruna for our great discussions, all your attentions and making our stay in Kandy so enjoyable, we would repeat if we were back in SL!

Stayed here on my visit to Kandy on a vacation. The property is beautiful, hosts are very hospitable, the food was served fresh everytime, they'd even check on your dietary preferences. They made my experience even better with their guidance and help. I'd definitely want to stay here again in case I travel to Kandy.

A very unique experience, a hotel with about 5 rooms so it is small but personal. The hotel staff are absolutely amazing and attend to your every need. The food was fabulous and delicious. There is an outside dining area where you can enjoy the view whilst you eat, the sound of the night life gives an extra romantic feel to the place. The beds are very comfortable and there is very good air conditioning in the room. You can tell the couple running this hotel have put some very good thoughts in to accommodate for tourists outside of Sri Lanka. This hotel is located in the hills so can be hard to get to and there is space for 1 small car. There are steps to get to all floors so anyone with a wheelchair would have difficulty using this hotel. One last comment, they shower was nice and powerful. Don't forget to enjoy the view whilst you shower!

One of the highlights of our trip was our stay in Villa arunalu. From ever smiling and very (they fulfilled all our requests) accommodating owners to the mesmerizing views and ambience...its fabulous...the decor, the room, the planning.. the owners have put a lot of thought into everything. And the food is to die for..A must stay place in kandy!!

Such a beautiful place to stay! It's a bit further from the city center, about 4km, but I think that's a big plus. Away from the crowd! The kind & helpful hosts, the amazing views, the breakfast and the spotlessly clean room made it just perfect. Don't hesitate, just book, you won't regret it 👍

We had a nice stay at this hotel. They served us with delicious foods and very kind service. If you are there, you will be experiencing a nice view and rooms with good standards.
