We have experienced how to cook real Sri Lankan food from scratch. We were a group of five people from Spain, Poland, Germany and Italy. We started at around 5pm and started eating at around 8pm. So far it was the best experience we had in this country, and even if it looks a 'bit' expensive at first, after a while you realise that it's totally worth it! Their kitchen is really clean and it's a pleasure to learn step-by-step every dish, and of course, eat them! They even organized 2 tuktuks to pick us up from the hotel and back. Thanks a lot for this amazing experience that I'll keep in my best dearest memories together with the recipes!!

My girlfriend and I did this cooking class and it was an amazing experience. Chami and his family welcomed us into their home and showed us the traditional Sri Lankan cooking methods. Definitely recommend to others wanting an authentic Sri Lankan experience. The food we cooked was delish and we will definitely be cooking up back home.

Cooking with these friendly and nice people was a big pleasure and a very nice experience. They showed us how to cook 8 traditionel currys and explained us the cooking process and the diffrent vegetables and herbs which are tipical for Sri Lanka and the dishes. All of them do it with so much passion and it was nice to stay with this lovely family. If you have enough time in Kandy, you should definitly take cooking classes in here. :)

We loved our experience at the Best Kandy Kitchen. It was special to meet and share the knowledge of the extended family and their cooking wisdom in a real home. The children scampering around made us really feel part of the family. We ate the best meal we have had in Sri Lanka and now feel confident that we can reproduce these dishes at home. Absolutely great experience which I highly recommend if you want to learn how to make some of the traditional dishes of Sri Lanka in a family atmosphere. The class takes place in a house equipped with a traditional kitchen under the guidance of a local family. All plates and pots used are made out of clay and all dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and spices. The final result is just incredible and the dinner was undoubtedly the best we had during our trip.

We're reall lucky to have joined these cooking class. My friend and I were the only to in the course, so we could do and ask a lot. At first we went to the market and bought fruits, vegetables and and the other ingredients for the meal. After the market we went to their home and had a cup of tea before we started cooking. They were all so lovely and hearty, we felt really comfortable. The atmosphere was very authentic and we learnt a lot. Now we know, how to cook 9 different curries :) Every currie was really delicious! I would really recommend this cooking class to.

We absolutely loved the cooking class and tour of the central markets to buy all of the ingredients. Chami organised everything very well, and the cooking lesson and food was fantastic. On top of that his family were so welcoming, especially of our daughter who they looked after so well! An absolute must-do activity when in Kandy, has been a highlight of our trip!

Great cooking course in a lovely family home - we made 10+ different curries and side dishes from loads of interesting ingredients, very tasty but took a while to do all the cooking!

Amazing experience including the market shopping for the vegetables. We has a pure vegan / vegetarian cooking class wish over 10 dishes plus rice. We learnt how to make fresh coconut sambol on the wet stone and cooked in clay pots. Danushka and her family are really welcoming and take their time in showing you how to make the dishes as well as letting you prepare and cook the food. They picked us up from the accommodation which made it really easy for us and welcomed us at their home with tea and coffee. Excellent value for money. All between 3-5 hours. We recommend the morning class so you get all the fresh vegetables at the market. Had an incredible time - we won't forget this!

Can only recommend this cooking class. We cooked together with the lovely family 10 curries, which were the best we had in sri lanka. The price also includes the recipes and Pick up and drop off. They also explain you the spices and different vegies we used to cook.

This was a truly amazing authentic experience, learning to cook 10 curries, roti and sambol with friendly local ladies. The best rice and curry we tasted in Sri Lanka, and the children were great fun too.
