One of the oldest girls schools in Kandy area with lot of history behind it. school was opened on 08 February 1889 in a 10 acre land. Has lot of heritage buildings with old colonial and Roman Catholic architecture. Its a missionary school fallowing the Roman Catholic tradition and now operate as a semi governmental school. it gave education to many many girls both high and low and had seen many reputed past pupils. This school had seen its better days but still have a good stranded of English and good in extracurricular activities, drama, sports, etc.

This is a girls' college which was started in the early 19th century. This is a missionary school. The education system is highly based upon Roman Catholic teaching. There isa small pre school (mixed) functioning too. The school is a semi government institute while the pre-school is operated as a private entity.

This August I had the exciting trip to Sri Lanka. And wanted to visit my school. But Alas I was not allowed in to visit. I returned to the country after 30 years from Australia. The security guard said they do not allow visitors. We tried four times. I find this utterly disgusting and insulting. A good school should never have restrictions for old girls. Three generations of my family went to this school. One of my aunts being a well known personality for net ball. Please do not restrict old girls from our school. Its wrong. As a Student of the good shepherd convent I’m proud to say that I have learned in this school and I’m still learning;I must say that the discipline is good and I love my school’s houses and the sports meet day is the best.I love my school 💙🤍
