We are an American family living in Kandy for six months and have been back to the Kandy Samadhi Centre three times to enjoy lunch and swimming with guests and friends. It is an amazing location. Perfect for enjoying nature and swimming with children. While we never spent the night, the rooms look incredible. This is the most tranquil setting we have found in the country and one destination we will miss the most once we leave.

I did the day program at the Samadhi Center, and was beyond impressed. Vimukthi is such a professional and kind young man. I thoroughly enjoyed my treatment with Priyani, and meeting the doctor. The food was fantastic as well. I'd love to come back and stay for a week.

I stayed four nights and five days. Food is the best I ever had in Sri Lanka. It is super healthy and delicious. Mostly coming from their garden. Only issue is the antiques they sell at the hotel and maintenance of the place. Antiques were taken from houses from the Tamils in Jaffna during the war when they fled. These antiques were not taken by legal means. The rooms are far from the restaurant and It is steep and slippery due to constant rain. I struggled a lot and I got a leech. I also lost electricity for two days. However much I love the food. This place needs more steps and not a steep slope up. They need to also remove the moss from the walkways. I also enjoyed the yoga classes and the best was the full body aryuvedic massage and steam bath. Loved the steam bath, foot soak, and head massage. I recommend this place for aryuvedic treatment and yoga. Chandima was my favorite. Liked her more than Yumi. Yumi teaches her own thing, but I wanted a traditional yoga experience, which she didn't do. Chandima gave me a traditional hatha class. Ask for Chandima to teach even though she takes time to speak in English, but I loved her class. Lastly, for all the drama with electricity and no spare key to get back in my room, the staff makes up for it. Peter, Soman, Vimukthi are the best. Definitely stay, but know what you are getting into. Ask for anti leech oil and soak your entire foot in it often. For the pain of being there, the food is chef's kiss. Also, I paid 105 per day for two meals and yoga once per day. 45 for 1.5 hrs massage and 20 dollars for a jeep ride to see the view point of knuckles and go to a waterfall. After my one leech experience, I did not want to go during the rainy season into Knuckles and hike.

Really remote but quite rustic and authentic for ayurveda. It's not as upmarket as the website portrays but everything is done well and authentic..

Will never forget my stay at Samadhi. It's calm, serene, sprawling with nature at its best along with the best massage I have ever had!!! Not to forget the food; such an experience and adventure for the senses. The kitchen at Samadhi cooks some remarkable traditional Sri Lankan meals. The individual bungalows give you all the privacy you can crave for along with a sense of security. You can walk, meditate, do yoga, read, cook, paint, jog, birdwatch, trek, spa or simply sleep and chill in this relaxed environment where time seems to take its time.

Amazing Destination! Went to this fantastic establishment (again!) and loved every minute of it. While the last time it was trekking and exploring, this time around it was THE WATER! Spent the entire day in the beautiful stream just relaxing with family and friends. The food and the facilities are fantastic. Mr. Saliya, Mr. Moses and Mr. Bandara are excellent staff members and took the very best care of us. A must-visit destination on your travels. Will be going there soon. Again. Definitely.

My favourite spot in Sri Lanka. A beautiful nature centre fully surrounded by the peace of the forest. A lake and stream where you can bathe, rooftop pavilion (with WiFi) to relax and a handful of individually designed rooms which are spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed with antique furnishings. Bathtubs in most rooms. Healthy, nourishing and authentic food. Will return soon!

This place was ahhhhmazing! Ayurvedic treatments are incredible and I would say a must-do while here! The staff are super professional, nothing is too much trouble. Bring your appetite as they serve really delicious meals using produce from their farm. The grounds are stunning and the rooms with their antique furniture are divine. I will be back!

Really I love this place.. every one must visit here, because This Samadi centre is setup by antique items and the villa also made by real antique item. Mostly They made the villas and the restaurant by more than 100 years old wooden doors windows and the dressing table ect..... Mostly they have the antique brass items those look very beautiful and there is some items I have never seen.. The place also very cool and silent... food also superb. Can book by online.

Great atmosphere, great food. The place is unique, it requires some good physical condition as there is a 5 minutes steep uphill path to the room (there are a few rooms that are middway though). Not suitable for non nature lovers. There are several insects as you are basically in the jungle. The food was of the best we had in Sri Lanka. The yoga sessions are very nice (07:30 or 08:00), the best location for yoga! There is a free doctor consultation before the massage, but we had the feeling that the doctor simply advises the most expensive option. The sirodhara massage was great, the full body massage was also nice, but not the best i had. Overall it was a great experience in Samadhi and disconnection from the rest of the world, plan to stay away from everything and stay for sure one whole day here. I would just advise a bit more maintenance in some communal spaces (such as the "library") or the windows and parts of the rooms. The staff was also very very kind and friendly.

This is an eco-friendly holiday resort with an architectural value. Calm & quite place.Meals are good (Sri Lankan menu). Not recommended for elderly people because the access road to rooms are slippery during rainy days. Recommend to environment friendly enthusiastic youngsters.

Eco friendly, calm and quiet place beside the stream. Its kind of unique place, great atmosphere but required good physical condition. Felt like living in the forest. We were a group of 12, had some delicious food.

The greatest place to stay around Kandy. The food was simply amazing (the best we’ve had in the whole country), the rooms are spread around the forest and decorated with antiques which makes this place really special. Needless to say the massages and oil treatments were amazing too. You can go for the full retreat or just try one. In the evening you get diner in candle light. There is also a cute terrasse where you can swim in the river and a roof top to relax and admire the view on the mountains. The staff arranged a trekking in the knuckles for us with a great guide. Can’t recommend more.

Since the first days of my stay in the samadhi Resort , I felt psychological comfort, and I found from all the workers great concern for the comfort and service of the guests with all sincerity and dedication, both in the distinguished treatment services that depend on natural medicinal herbs , and the positive effect of that was starting It was visible to me personally and the doctors were highly experienced and well-behaved with a permanent smile, and the same applies to the therapists who are highly professional. There is no doubt that food is of great importance with the various treatment programms. All healthy vegetarian meals vary every day through an open buffet. The presence of a doctor always in the restaurant during the three meal periods for consultation and advice caught my attention. The general environment of the resort is very beautiful, as if you are in the middle of a forest, and you can enjoy walking on the wonderful area. I advise those who want to combine relaxation and treatment to go to this place, and I planned to return.I will recommend it to relatives and friends when I return to my country.
