This was the worst food and worst service we ever had in our 3weeks on Sri Lanka. The food was way to expansive for what we’ve got. The waitress didn’t even asked us for new drinks and also didn’t wanted to serve us. My boyfriend was still eating his salad which came after his main dish and while he was eating the waitress put our bill on the table and stoped talking with us. Never had such a bad experience before. Definitely don’t recommend this place.

Peradeniya Rest House Cafeteria is great place to dine in quality and delicious foods near Peradeniya Botanical Garden. Price also not high than others. Seating area is small

It is situated near the teaching hospital peradeniya. So the location is not suitable if you are looking for scenery. However, the location is easily accessible, near the town as well. It has a separate restaurant. The rooms are spacious but old-fashioned. Cleanliness is average. On the day I visited, they were having some problems during dinner buffet with a lack of variety and shortage of staff. However, it was compensated on the breakfast buffet. Staff is friendly. They have a parking as well.

This is a government managed Rest House. Need I say anymore ? Had lunch. Very poor value for money and way overpriced. Whilst the vegetables looked fresh and inviting, the seafood noodles arrived cold and required a treasure hunt to find the seafood. The processed cubes masquerading as pork in the sweet and sour dish was tasteless and underwhelming. The tiny prawns in the allegedly Szechuan prawn dish higlighted the poor value for money. The chef has some talent as his/her sauces were excellent. Unfortunately, they only had poor quality ingredients to work with. The pool appears inviting until the kids from the swimming classes get in. The unhygienic practices and blowing of snotty noses into the water pose a significant health risk. Swim at your own peril. But a great place to have drinks and relax after a visit to the Botanical gardens. Make sure you look after the car park attendant who stands in the hot sun and does a excellent job.

The prices here are very reasonable, we ate from the buffet, for LKR 1700 we had a great meal to say the least. The food and dessert are very delicious, if you are in Kandy, come here and enjoy the food, the swimming pool (600LKR) is very good. 02/17/2023

Family Restaurant: Lunch Buffet. Tasty food. Many varieties of Salads. Love the jaggery pudding. Reasonable price. Have a smoking area. Nice place for a beer. Highly recommended.

Situated near Peradeniya - Kandy main road. Visited there for a wedding. The wedding hall is big and air conditioned, suitable for about 150 guests. Bar area is quite small. Washrooms were not good, smelly, the cleanliness should be improved. Buffet foods were good. Parking is available but sometimes hard to find a place.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Peradeniya Rest House. Excellent place to stay in Kandy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staffs were also great and always efficient, happy and polite. They were giving us great hospitality and amazing breakfast. Service was delightful and very professional. I recommend to everyone. I would like to come back here again and again.

Rooms are somewhat spacious and well furnished. But, not recommended for a pleasant stay. Poor quality room service, we have to carry our heavy baggages ourselves, very poor cleanliness and stinky bathroom. They have to improve a lot on maintenance and cleaning services.

This place was good few years ago but recently the quality has dropped. Visited the place with some friends for dinner and the service was absolutely pitiful. The buffet finished earlier and they didn't refill. Had to wait for an hour just to get some rice and devilled chicken. They need to raise their standards. Cannot believe this is a 3 star establishment.

They have a huge car park and a good security team. They always in alert with people and vehicles. The room was good looking and neat but noticed dust at several places and I couldn't to keep my food on the table because of ants. It's so bad. Staff is good. The value for money is good. Well arranged but considerable clean and comfortable.

I came to a wedding in Royal Rest House - Kings ballroom. Room is not very big but can accommodate more than 100 people. There is a washroom here. The washroom in the main rest house is far better than this. Foods also good here. But not very tasty 🤤.

I participated a wedding on 29th January. Food is good. Location good. Blanket hall is modern. Only 2 bad experiences. Glasses not clean, I met 2 goblets with lipstick. I asked waiters, but they don't have any excuse, and the other thing floor carpet has a bad smell, need to be clean or wakum.

Great service. Good food and the pool is clean. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the room sheets are not very clean. We had to ask them to replace them and even the replacements weren't very clean. Other than that the staff was friendly and it was worth the price.

I highly recommend this hotel for events like weddings. The food is not only delicious but also of high quality. During my recent stay at the hotel, I had moderately satisfactory experience.The rooms were just okay and clean, but having a bar with liquor on-site was helpful for those who wanted it. Never stayed here. Although the food is a bit expensive compared with the top tier restaurants in Kandy, the meals offered here are excellent. Banquet halls available. An ideal place for SL weddings, parties or gatherings.

Me and my parents stayed on a triple bedroom over night. The staff was friendly. Everything was pretty clean. The beds were comfy. The AC was working. There was a TV, an electric kettle and supplies to make tea. The bathroom was nice and tidy however hot water wasnt available. The staff was very friendly. There was adequate parking space too. I made reserved the room via bookings.com and there werent any issues regarding the reservation too.

Near to peradeniya botanical Garden. Very helpful security team at the car park.They always in alert with people and vehicles. Rooms are neat and spacious but bathrooms little bit smelly.. Also having long nice swimming pool. It was a pleasant surprise and they try to maintain it up to the standard.

This is in a very convenient location when you visit Kandy to spend a day to visit Peradeniya Garden which you can spend your day with nature. The sad part of the property, is service . The milk powder packets which we got was expired and I had to request couple of times to get good once. Twice the brought expired packets. The workers are like government employees. Food was tasty and they have enough parking. They have restaurant outside also. And they have a good bar.

We had lunch there. The food was okay. The Sri Lanka food there were very spicy! The restaurant did not feel quite clean. The food was expensive compared to what you got. The music signing was also annoyed.

They offer a Great Buffet at a very reasonable price. Ample parking. Best dining option to avoid Hustle and bustle of Kandy City

Overall place is ok....Limited options were available for BF like only few local dishes but it was nice. However, we were really disappointed on service of a receptionist who worked at the reception counter on 9th February and the bell desk.. Seems she has to learn basic things like smiling & how to greet the customer etc and also poor service showed by the bell desk as a result, We had to carried all our baggage without them. must say that those security staff at the carpark were done a good job. 👍

We got lunch buffet from here. There were 2 or 3 main meal varieties and fruits for dessert .Also soup was there.Price was little bit high and they provided calypso music in background.They entertained us a lot.The service was good.

This property is suitable for everyone who wants a decent stay for the value. They have a fantastic restaurant and an indoor and outdoor bar. Usually crowded. Mainly because of the location.

The food at the restaurant was average, nothing too special but it was decent. The prices were also reasonable. Overall, the Peradeniya Rest House is a decent option for those looking for a budget-friendly option in the area. It's not luxurious, but it's clean, comfortable and it serves its purpose.

Near to peradeniya botanical park with good parking space, a nice and well maintained hotel. We took dinner buffet (recommended), staff managed to arrange a table for our group. Little busy if they have functions or parties.

The buffet was good with a variety of cuisines at a reasonable price. The dining hall might be crowded therefore better to reserve before the visit. The pub was also notable (good place to enjoy watching the match with friends).

Had Buffet lunch costing 1500 per person. Fairly decent array,good ambience. Having a Calipso band to make you happy.

The buffet is good and certainly worth the price. But it is understaffed! There are only 2 waiters altogether and they take forever to clear the plates.
