I ordered the chicken combo plate which was fried chicken and Korean fired chicken. The Korean fried chicken was great. The fried chicken was hot and fresh. The teriyaki plate was also good.

This is the go to place for Hawaiian fast food! Friendly staff and a bit of wait at this location. Lot of options on the menu and picked just one for quick lunch. Ordered the chicken katsu plate with Mac salad. Mac salad was tasty, the chicken katsu was okay and the sauce was missing the usual katsu curry flavor. This dish was definitely a let down. Hoping to try the other dishes next time!

Came here for a quick lunch before going to the sandbar after it was mentioned to us by our Uber driver. He said it’s not something to rave about, just a regional chain, but we thought it sounded cool! We thought it was interesting that this spot had half of a quick dining area and a sit-down area. The cashiers were super duper friendly. Saimin - This was inexpensive and quite filling! It had a good amount of noodles and the piping hot broth came separately. The fish cake and char siu were tasty. Since it seemed little, I added a chicken katsu. The cashier said she made sure to put it separately so the chicks stayed crispy. Chicken katsu - My stand-alone katsu was around $5-6 but turning it into its own combo meal with rice and mac salad is the way to go. My friend got 3 pieces for $12. We expected a dense, greasy fried food but it was actually very light and thin! It was a lot better than I expected. Its accompanying sauce is more sour than other katsu places I’ve tried. We were dying for vegetables at this point so I ate all the cabbage underneath lol. Korean fried chicken - This was delicious! The boneless pieces don’t come in medium-sized chunks. I liked their crunch. Loco moco - This was hot, flavorful, and honestly tasted better than some other places I’ve tried. The egg was fried perfectly. I wish I tried the oxtail soup but it’s pretty pricey. Zippy’s fulfilled our needs before our long boat trip!

Food hit the spot! Exactly what I wanted and needed, located right outside Windward mall (across small road)! Staff was great, social distance and cv19 policies adhered too! Sanitary and safe dining!

Came just for the dessert and wasn’t disappointed! The Chocolate Haupia cake was very light and tasty! Only wish that it had more haupia in it. 4/5. The bread pudding a la mode was delightful! 5/5. I’d rate tonight’s visit a 4.5 but I can’t.

This was a good restaurant..My last visit ended at the check in. Firstly they were woefully under staffed. They insist you check in electronically even though there's a person standing there to seat you smdh. It is as if they don't want your business. It was for me a decent place to have a meal ( a little pricey) and consistent. They should change the name because they don't live up to it

Our server was excellent and gave the 2 of us tourists suggestions for the local area. Food was average but it may just be that we didn't have local Hawaiian palates.

Heard about this Hawaiian chain staple restaurant. No joke this stuff is filling and delicious! Any local person we speak to mentions it as a great place to fill your belly with comfort food. The restaurant associate won't impress but the food will. Definitely a go to for a very empty belly or those in-between nights when you Island hop.

The waiter was really nice. She take our order with a nice and sweet talking. The foods are really decent with a normal price. The seats are good too.

Second time I have been at this Zippys during this pandemic on a short visit to Kailua. This is a local place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many Zippys all across Hawaii. I had a delicious breakfast with eggs over medium, whole wheat buttered toast, Portuguese sausage and house made corn beef hash which is certainly better than the canned variety! Great place for a nice breakfast.

Since pandemic a lot of places close early, limited menu or no longer have dine in. Just learned that Zippys no longer has all day breakfast unless you dine in. Breakfast now ends at 1030. Such a disappointment. Now you folks are just like everyone else and why? For convenience? Lose money!

Breakfast was delicious, the hostess and waitress were very nice. The food portions were huge and the price was on the cheap end. Only issue was the coffee, kinda brown water the first cup I had. But great experience either way.

Been going to this particular Zippy's location for as long as I can remember, maybe 3 decades now. My mom used to take us for dinner there all the time, since before their modern renovation. The sautéed mushrooms and onions dish was an absolute staple, and they had a jukebox that my young mind was fascinated with. Now? It's a place that I actively avoid. The food has exponentially gotten worse. It is painfully clear that the cooks don't care about the food quality. The cashiers always seem exhausted and over it. The servers don't check in or refill the drinks worth an even 10% tip. My experience today was spending $40 on a burger w/fries and a 2 meat, 2 egg, and 2 scoops of rice breakfast plate, and the tip that wasn't earned. The meat and eggs on the breakfast plate was overcooked to almost burnt, the rice was hard and undercooked. The burger patty was incredibly small with incredibly bitter lettuce, and fries you could tell came frozen that got cold and stale / hard within 2-3 minutes of arriving at the table. They don't even serve the Orange Bang Shake anymore, which was their 1 saving grace. The substandard burger and fries alongside 4 pieces of meat on a measly 2 undercooked scoops of rice came out to $32 and change. I doubt I'll eat at Zippy's, or at least this one, ever again.

Picked order for NewYears. Staff was disorganized in setting up all the pre-orders. Cold food could have been pre-arranged according to pick-up times.

Super friendly people here, and a steady stream of patrons. We ordered the Moco Loco — a bed of rice with a burger, smothered in gravy topped with eggs, and a side of Mac salad. Plate was su huge with food I may not have to eat the rest of the day. We also ordered a danish with coffee, the fried noodles and the fried chicken plate. Yep… we are all full!!

This would be a no go. Place was empty when i arrived and should have known better. Water tastes like chemicals, coffee worse. Sausage and bacon were only saving graces. Eggs ordered medium were runny with the white (clear) in a big way. Cooked on super high heat.

While the atmosphere held connotations of a Hawaiian IHOP, the staff were friendly and informative (AND patient lol), the service was prompt and on point and the food was delicious. The teriyaki beef I've not had more tender and the flavors were outstanding! Definitely a must go to when visiting.

I know most locals think the food here is a little overpriced, but not much more so than any other eatery these days. Zippy's has been around all of my life and I have come to think of it as a place where friends and family gather without feeling you have to dress or act a certain way. Most of their food here I've come to think of as comfort food. "Next stop Zippy's"!

Was surprisingly impressed with the food! My parents only usually like traditional Chinese food and they really liked the oxtail soup and fried noodles here. Also impressed with the Jin dui. Not a cheap meal but convenient and delicious.

I love Zippys!!! Food is usually great! I’ve been to this particular location 3-4 times and all different times of the day. The last time I went, my food was cold, my server was non-existent, and this location in Kaneohe is not clean. It’s old but tables are always dirty, silverware is not clean, glasses aren’t either. If you are trying zippys for the first time…. Don’t go to the Kaneohe location.

Waited in line for 10 minutes until we were all kicked out because we hadn't signed in online. It didn't appear to be common knowledge. Went across the street to Big City Dinner and got right in.

Consistently good food

This restaurant was recommended by a local Hawaiian lady. I have to say this was one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten. I got the Korean Chicken and it was terrible. It's was hard fried chicken skin with very little meat. I don't understand how this restaurant has a 4 star rating.

Server was very pleasant and attentive. Food was as good as usual. I had the hamburger steak.

The parking is great here. The restaurant and fast food section are clean and both areas have restrooms. Phone order takers are good. They listen well and are very courteous. Pick up is just as good. Very friendly and patient. The bakery is set for Thanksgiving. Service/products are on a first-come-first-served basis. Oh and the Naples are looking wonderful! Zippy's is a bit pricey. .. so we don't come every week. Love there seasonal dish, "Miso Chicken Plate"... Great memories are made here! Enjoy! Excellent curb side service. Ordered on line, went in to pay and out within five minutes!! I'd call that excellent service. My next stop, Zippys for sure!!

All Zippy's are pretty much the same. There's a bright clean look when you arrive. It stays that way.

Called and was quoted an hour wait for portuguese soup. Only live near by so drive there to see how long and was told it would be 15 minutes for 2 grilled cheese and soup. Which that was good but the grilled cheese was soggy. I didn't understand the 45 minutes difference with the waits

We didn't end up staying, it looked a little depressing and the staff seemed tired so we left before being seated. I've seen that it got good ratings but maybe the COVID restrictions have hit hard, it's not easy right now.

The menu doesn't have descriptions and they were way under staffed so service took a long time. The food was mediocre. The signs for one-way enter/exit due to covid were very confusing and the exit door was locked so it didn't matter anyway.

Zippys has been a staple here for more than 50 years. Chili, fried chicken, apple nappies. Who hasn't had atleast one of those items? I've certainly had my share. Long story short, Covid has affected Zippys. Earlier on, they downsized their staff by 20%. They're looking at downsizing by another 20%. The problem is the service has been poor. It has occurred, when ordering through the app, that the wait time has been an hour or longer. Thursday, 01/14, we ordered through the app with a wait time of 30 minutes. We got there within 35 minutes and waited 7 minutes to have our food delivered to the car. Not bad, right? Sadly, the food was delivered cold, which highly indicates the food was ready before the 30 minute window was finished. I don't know what to say. Perhaps get there before the 30 minutes is over and wait. Casualties.

We were here 5 years ago and went back multiple times. This trip we went back multiple times, that's after trying loco moco at other restaurants. Still this is our favorite for loco moco's.

It was nice that zippys was open for 3 days we there on the 3rd day it was good we had a small lunch Will be back. Iam glad that zippys is now open on a regular basis but lam sad the took away my favorite pork link sausage l don't like the new one.

Surf Pac should be Fish and or sea food and not chicken and steak
