There aren’t enough stars to justify how good this place is!! The Shoyu and Spicy poke bowl was worth a flight from Atlanta. This place is a GEM, and the owners/employees are so nice and helpful. Will definitely be back!!

They have different lunch, happy hour, and dinner menus. I stopped by for lunch, but one of the employees explained the different menus to me and I decided to come back for dinner the next day instead. Don’t get me wrong, the lunch menu looked really good, but if you are looking for some of the local cuisine and specialties, you should probably come back for the dinner menu that starts at 5pm. Portions are large enough to be shared family style, so I got to try a little of everything. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Full bar, draft and bottled beer, wines and special house cocktails. Parking can be a bear in this strip center. They have plenty of four topper tables but you can’t push them together because of the layout of the place, so not great for groups of more than four or five people. If you go, you HAVE to try the Shrimp and Pork Lumpia Shanghai - I couldn’t stop going on and on about that appetizer! I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service - it was awesome and I owe it to the server who told me about the different menus when I stopped in for lunch. This place is a keeper. :)

Monarch poke is fit for a king!! I had the spicy tuna poke and it was delicious. The woman behind the counter made the poke; I didn’t pick my ingredients. My poke came with chopped green onion, sesame seeds, tuna and sauce. I ordered the white rice and it was so good. If you want to try some awesome Hawaiin poke, stop by monarch poke.

The food and drinks there was delicious. Even though the lunch menu is a bit small I was able to find something to eat that I never tried before. For lunch we had the Poke Nachos, Garlic Shrimp, Bulgogi burger, and cheesecake. The staff there were kind and a patient. I defiantly recommend trying this place out!

Has been one of the best food experiences I’ve had on the island so far! Excellent service. We were helped by the owner’s daughter and she was extremely patient and informative on their food lines/ options. She made my family and I feel welcomed and was happy to service us! Poke Bowls were amazing. Our family picked the Spicy Poke option. Food was very fresh and tasted excellent! Awesome experience all around. Highly recommend taking you and your family here if you’re looking for excellent food and excellent service!

Have tried several of the dishes here, all are pretty good. Their poi is one of the best I've ever had. You can tell the fish they use for their poke is fresh and not previously frozen. Poke that was frozen before has a weird chewy texture, which the poke here does not have. Not too many places in Aiea have the fresh poke. The only downside is that they close too early. Would be nice if they could stay open until 7pm since I don't get home until nearly 6pm, which is their current closing time.

Yummy Poke! Fresh catch not frozen so you pay market price per 4 Oz. Minimum. Lau Lau lunch plate was fire!! It had Lomi Lomi, Lau Lau with salmon belly, Kalua pork (best ever!), rice and Mac salad. Classic lunch plate but sooo delicious!

We were looking to grab something to eat before our flight home. We saw this place and decided to try it, as one last Hawaiian meal. We had never had poke before, and the owner came out and patiently explained what poke is and explained about the different dishes and gave us some recommendations. We bought some dishes based on those recommendations and both plates were really good!

This place is so good! Been here on Oahu 2 weeks and this was the best lunch I have had. Sunny's Shrimp. The best kine! All my friends got poke bowls and they said it was fresh.

Fantastic place well worth going there! Fresh ,caught that day, tuna. Great flavor profile. We have eaten poke all over the island , this was our favorite meal. As you can see generous portions . Try the home made Ube cheesecake and pineapple upside down cake as well. This place a home run and in a strip mall - east to find and you can sit down and eat !

The Katsu Sando is super ono with thick and crispy Katsu and with two sides was a reasonable price! The lady at the counter was super friendly too!

This was the first thing that came up when searching for a nearby lunch spot. We decided to check it out and on first sight, it was like every other hole in the wall place in an outdoor strip mall, but OMG the food was insanely good. We opted for a spicy ahi poke bowl and the bulgogi beef sandwich, which was actually three of the softest bao buns we’ve ever had with very good bulgogi beef. Even the fried that came with it were outstanding. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

Went there for the first time ever for my bday lunch a couple weeks ago. Staff was friendly and helpful despite a water main break earlier in the day requiring them to close early. One of my best dining experiences on island just because of how great their energy and the quality of the poke is. Will be eating here on the reg. Oh and the ube cheesecake is so friggin tasty.

Poke bowls are phenomenal, we've been here twice and ordered bowls both times. The Inamona Poke was the best, also enjoyed the shoyu, highly recommend going with dirty rice and eveything on top but you really cant go wrong.

Monarch was a quick google search before heading to Pearl Harbor and it did NOT disappoint! The gal working was incredibly helpful and friendly, and was so patient when describing the Hawaiian foods for us mainlanders. Do yourself a favor and get poke with dirty rice and try the ahi nachos. My daughter had the pork buns and fries and gobbled those up. Seriously, get you some Monarch Poke- It’s amazing.

This is the friendliest little shop in a strip mall near pearl ridge. The gal at the counter was very friendly and helped us choose something we would like. The food was exceptionally good! We visited twice during our stay on the island.

A bit pricey for the amount of poke you get in each dish but well worth it given the freshness and flavor. The poke nachos are different than anything I've had before and are a must try. The full order allows a choice of two poke flavors and uses fried wonton chips in place of tortilla chips. The best deal on the menu is probably the poke bowls. Make sure to get the dirty rice. I promise you won't regret it!

My roommate has been trying to get me to go to this place for months since he saw the name. With no knowledge of the place besides the fact that it has tavern in the name we came to try the food. It was absolutely fantastic! We ordered a pound of clams, Kalua Pig Nachos, and dirty rice (garlic fried rice). Our servers were very friendly and the food was very filling. As far as prices go on island I thought they were decently priced. I'm definitely planning of coming back here again.

Locally owned sit down restaurant with a very friendly staff. My friend and I were fortunate to have conversation with the owner. This restaurant is loyal to its community and island by using as much local products as possible. The produce is fresh from local farmers, the beef and pork are from local farmers which are fresh slaughtered and purchased every few days, and the fish is purchased almost every day from the fisherman's market. The food is simply amazing! Locally grown burger, bulgogi spicy cucumber burger, homemade fries and ketchup... total juicy flavor burst with every bite of burger. The fries were good even when it cooled off to room temperature. I'm not a huge fan of ketchup, but this one I ate with the fries.. my burger was so flavorful it didn't need anything else. I have to go back and try lots of other things on the menu. Too bad we only have one stomach. We just missed out on the last piece of cheesecake with a strawberry li hing topping... omg... it looked so good! We ordered the ice cream and brownie as that's always yummy.

These ahi nachos were on point! Very delicious and good enough to share though you probably won't want too 😉. Pineapple upside down cake was good but the caramel is made with Hawaiian salt so it's kinda salty. Recommend getting it on the side a tasting it before getting drizzled over the whole thing. Overall great food though.

Good location in Kapolei for a meal. A bit tucked away. Parking nearby. Pleasant outdoor seating in back. Portion sizes were healthy, drinks reasonably priced. Service was friendly and helpful. Lumpia and nachos hit the spot.

I can't believe this place has been here for 5 years! I'm actually mad at my friends for allowing me to eat at some of the other restaurants at this shopping center without checking out Plantation Tavern. Started with the Poke nachos (half spicy and half shoyu). It was so good I decided to keep the poke train rolling and got the Poke avocado salad. Perfect Poke, perfectly dressed green mix with veggies and TONS of avocado. Everyone I came with had an amazing meal. Great service. Met the owner. I can't wait to come back.

Phenomenal. Absolutely amazing. We loved having a "Hawaiian Fusian" food experience, from our Kalua pork nachos to our Sunny Kauai Shrimp, we were in heaven!! We were also blown away with the wonderful staff and family friendly atmosphere. The hostess and waitress were both SO accommodating to our two small children (9 mos & 3 yrs), gave them a fun craft to do while we were waiting for our food, and were cheerful the entire time. Amazing food, atmosphere, staff, and experience!
