We walked along beautifully maintained trails that varied between pavement, gravel and dirt trails. This is a perfect place if you need flat wide trails. Handicap are welcome here. There are picnic tables set up for wheelchair access. We did not see a speck of garbage anywhere!! The out houses are clean too. We are lucky to have this park.

Everyone should take the time to come out and hike the trails at least once a month. Getting out in nature and just breathing the beautiful air and listening to the peaceful sounds really does something to the human body to create a healing moment for yourself! So very grateful for this little piece of heaven.

Nice area with several walking trails. Maps show trail locations and distances. Signs include surface type and inclines. There is a small nature center. There are some pavilions for picknicing (reservations may be required). There are also camping locations. Horses are allowed on some trails and there is a seperate lot for horse trailers. Hours run 8 AM to sunset.

Goodenow is easily one of my favorite places in the area to go when I want to just get out and walk, or play with my camera. When it's warm out, you can get super close to the frogs in the pond if you move slowly. The trails, nature center, and campsites are great too.

If you need a place for a nice family picnic, hiking, or just to walk and relax this is the place for you. Beautiful hilltop with a table if you want a nice view while enjoying your family meal. Very clean and mysterious in some areas. Highly recommended.

went to watch the rise of the full moon/buck moon/supermoon July 13th, 2022 at 9:03 PM CDST from the little hill by the information center. used to come here with my kids years ago. big sprawling nature preserve with many different features and environments, trails, paths, biking, ponds, camping, visitor center, creeks, clean pit toilets, picnic tables, and groves. arrived around 8:15 PM, sunset at 8:28, picnic tables on top of the hill so enjoyed the remains of the day. after sunset as the twilight deepened the air assumed that lovely pink and purple glow, soft like velvet, so thick and dense you could almost grab a handful and put it in a jar on the nightstand next to the bed. 9:03 came and went. startled to first notice an enormous red orange full moon struggling through the trees to the southeast, it's brightening beams like soft spotlights. it rose in stillness, darkness soon shrouding the little hill. left in silence.

All types and lengths of trails and Equestrian parking. Educational and fun nature center with exploration areas inside and out. Small paved trail great for toddlers and strollers with a lookout at the Snapper Pond. A sledding hill in winter and great open spot for kite flying.

Nice nature trail. The clubhouse had decent room for events. While inside can watch the butterflies and humming birds. Outdoor stuff for kids to do.

Stopped here on a lark yesterday, and once again were immediately transported into the natural world. As the leaves fall, numerous nests are revealed. Birdsong filled the air, punctuated by crickets and/or frogs. The bridge near the nature center falls between two majestic oaks. Some blue-tinted birds played between the trees and the fire pit below. Purple flowers remain to entice birds that remain. Startlingly a lone mushroom out in the open drew us in see photo below. A short thirty minutes later we left refreshed in spirit and hopeful that the wait list we are on for one of the various programs offered will open up.

Love coming here for picnics and for the visitor center. They have great staff, delicious chocolate, and cool items for sale. My kids love playing with all the educational toys they have out. Such a great place for walking around and looking for birds, turtles, and frogs.

Love bringing my pup here. So peaceful, very clean and trails are well marked! Haven't been on the inside since I was a child but they've always had cool, interesting things and I'm sure that part hasn't changed!

Wonderful campsite. Handled a 40 person BSA campout just fine. The vault toilets were clean and the camp site was well maintained. The forest preserve staff was very helpful. The forest preserve police were extremely helpful. Had a parent accidentally lock their keys in a car and they were right there to help us out. Great trails. Good access to water and trash cans/dumpster.

It was very quiet there today, but a nice place to take a walk or a gentle bike ride. I wish I knew this place was here during the winter. The snow sledding hill looks like a great spot. We'll definitely be back to use it next winter.

Had our family reunion picnic here and it was so beautiful and quite and felt like we were the only people in the park. Plenty of room for seating and games.
