Visited this college during a tech event & for a particular course. Great place to learn about different subjects in that huge library. Awesome foods inside the college/city. I enjoyed each every moment there. Awesome faculties. Institute itself is so big that it feels like a city. Airports, trains, almost each and every fields buildings out there. It's just too much.

The auspicious & prestigious institute which revived the kanpur city again in global map. The Institute spreading over 1100 acres offers total of 30 courses with 8 courses in Engineering stream. One of the famous buildings include Kelkar library (Named after P K Kelkar, 1st director of institute). The campus is green, clean and well maintained throughout the boundaries. Not to forget, study environment as well extra curricular activities are it's forte events like Antarangni and TechKriti. Also, the city is well connected via road, rail and air to other parts of country.

IIT Kanpur is considerate about your all around development and also includes compulsory physical activity during the first year curicullum. So, if the idea of all around development goes against your ideology, IITK is certainly the worst for you. You might get to study with some of the best brains of the country. So if you feel that your presence may break their myth of invincibility, have mercy on the poor souls!

Amazing Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (abbreviated as IIT Kanpur; Hindi: भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान कानपुर) is a public technical university located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the Institutes of Technology Act IIT Kanpur was established by an Act of Parliament in 1960 by the Government of India. The institute was started in December 1959 in a room in the canteen building of the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute at Agricultural Gardens in Kanpur. In 1963, the institute moved to its present location, on the Grand Trunk Road near the locality of Kalyanpur in Kanpur district.[5] The campus was designed by Achyut Kavinde in a modernist style. During the first ten years of its existence, a consortium of nine US universities (namely MIT, UCB, California Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Carnegie Institute of Technology, University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Case Institute of Technology and Purdue University) helped set up IIT Kanpur's research laboratories and academic programmes under the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP).[6] The first director of the institute was P. K. Kelkar (after whom the Central Library was renamed in 2002).[7] Under the guidance of economist John Kenneth Galbraith, IIT Kanpur was the first institute in India to offer Computer science education.[7][8] The earliest computer course was started at the institute in August 1963 on an IBM 1620 system. The initiative for computer education came from the Electrical engineering department, then under the chairmanship of Prof. H.K. Kesavan, who was concurrently the chairman of Electrical Engineering and head of the Computer Centre. Prof. Harry Huskey of the University of California, Berkeley, who preceded Kesavan, helped[7] with the computer activity at IIT-Kanpur.[7] In 1971, the institute began an independent academic program in Computer Science and Engineering, leading to MTech and PhD degrees.

Visited IITK for flight lab course. Amazed by the amenities and facilities provided. We had been given AC rooms for 6 day with charge of around 3k ₹ for this tenure. The labs are well equipped and advanced. NWTF is the star of IITK. Other labs were equally amazing.

IIT Kanpur is one of the top engineering colleges across India, and it is known for its extremely good placements. In 2020, in spite of the COVID pandemic, the highest domestic salary package offered was more than that of the previous year.

Visit their techkriti fest to make memorable moments. IIT Kanpur gave us a lot of memories along with them not refunding our security deposit even after stating that they will eventually they stopped responding. But then too, the events were grand, the competition was fierce and the lifestyle was also how a tier 1 college should be. Mess food was great too and hygiene could be noticed in there actions and dressing sense.

Went there for PhD interview and stayed for a few days and I loved it! The campus is just beautiful and there's peacocks running wild throughout the campus! The lanes were very clean and the dinning area was just fabulous(at least in hall 5), just the rooms required a bit more renovation but in all it was overly!

It's like a broken dream that you can't live without but at the same way you don't want it. Nice place, has all the departments 1055 acres of campus with full of greenery. Cricket ground, football, hockey and the best thing is OAT(New SAC) which has food stalls, like dominos, kathi rolls, Cafe Coffee Day, and much more. Hostels are as big as you want with single room facility.

I loved the campus, The way hostels are arranged and the canteen present in every hostel. Playground are also awesome. I am intrigued by the greenery of the campus. The wild birds are also there. There are many fruits and juices shops which have variety drink. However the campus is big so would recommend to keep cycle to roam around the campus.
