The Majestic is my favorite place for a nice dinner in KC. The food is delicious, the live jazz downstairs is always good. We always leave here completely full and satisfied. The service is top notch as well. Have never had a bad experience and it is the best place to treat yourself to an amazing steak dinner.

Thank you all for an amazing Father's Day feast! From the moment we walked in we felt like family. Christy greeted us like old friends and Lauren, Tobias, and Joe made sure our dining experience was unsurpassed. Definitely our favorite hangout! We will be back soon.

Absolutely the best steakhouse I've ever been to. We went for a celebratory dinner for a family member who recently passed away. The manager was kind enough to have some pics we provided as well as a lit candle on the table. That meant a great deal and we will never forget that. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He even covered our drinks in honour of the occasion. The place has great history and the whole feel of the place is familiar and comfortable. Don't be intimidated by the price. The food and the experience is well worth every penny. I can't say enough good things about The Majestic.

Another outstanding meal, drinks, and service at THE Majestic! I tried the Twins Oscar-style with a side of lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection! This is our favorite "special occasion" spot and we are always very pleased after every visit.

This is a great Kansas City steakhouse, with stellar ambience. Unlike some other steakhouses, for your money( quite a bit of money) you'll get a side or two with your steak. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly. He had the filet. He also had a salad and macaroni and cheese which was amazing. I tried the seafood etouffee, and while it tasted great, they're really was no dominant flavor and I'm not sure I would have it again. It again. For dessert we ordered their bread pudding, which is different than I've had before, it comes out as slices. But it was really good. Unless you're looking to spend tons of money, wine is best ordered off of the by the glass menu. The most inexpensive wine on the wine list is $80 but most are in excess of $120. This is why I'm giving Majestic just four stars. I don't think there's any reason why they have to have this expensive wine list. Their markup appears to be much higher than many other restaurants. Or at least offer a few more bottles for those of us everyday people who'd like to enjoy a bottle of wine for 40 or $50.

One of my finest dining experiences in recent memory. My date and I were there to celebrate a birthday and the experience was delightful. The server had an encyclopedic knowledge of the menu and was very attentive to our table. The three piece jazz trio provided an amazing ambiance as my date and I enjoyed the vibe. The meal - soup, appetizer, steak, sides - was as good as I've ever had at a steakhouse. The steak soup was sublime. The prime rib was juicy, tender, and rare. The sides were decadent. Had I been able to eat dessert I am sure it would have been excellent too. Well worth the price.

If you are cold blooded, bring a coat. It's very cool in the basement restaurant with the jazz band. The band was good and played constantly during dinner. Gary was our server and he was very helpful and engaging. The wine and spirits menu is massive. The charcuterie plate is huge and worth it. The steak soup was savory. The steaks were incredible, but both were more rare than we requested. That being said, we loved them. This is not a cheap steakhouse, but it is a worth it for a special event. I have eaten at more expensive steakhouses and I think this is a better value and experience. Especially with the life jazz band. We will come here again.

Celebrating an amazing anniversary with my wife. Made reservations at the Majestic. The atmosphere was enhanced with live soft piano music setting the tone. Ted our server and bartender was good and attentive. The bar was well stocked. The seafood appetizer were devine, steaks juicy, tender and heavenly delicious. However the vegetables were a bit over cooked. Which was the only thing that kept the food from a 5 star. I will definitely be returning to try other menu items.

This place has a Speakeasy vibe to it and it's awesome. We're visiting from out of town and wanted to go somewhere special for our last night in town. Get the charcuterie board, it's absolutely beautiful, not to mention delicious. Our server, Ted, provided exceptional recommendations and service. We ate our meal while listening to live jazz music. Listen, this place is expensive, but the food is quality and it's the perfect place for a birthday or anniversary celebration. We'll be back!

Went for a more upscale meal while in town. Located in an old speak easy/brothel(isn't everything in KC) it really carries that vibe. Food was what you'd expect in a KC steak house some of the finest meat available done right. Server was a breath of fresh air for sure. She actually acted like she wanted to be there and took pride in her job. Service with a smile and a kind word is worth it.

I came to KC for business and people told me to try 2 things. KC bbq and Jazz. So I found this place after searching around. Gotta say, I had a great experience at their basement listening to live Jazz and having a dinner and drinks. A good way to enjoy your evening after a hard day of work. Let's start with parking. They have free parking and their are instructions on their website. But I suggest using Google Map with satellite view so you can actually locate said parking located next to the alleyway behind the front entrance of the restaurant. Make sure to make a reservation on Open Table and check their Jazz schedule to request either main dinning room or basement table for the live Jazz. Live music was great. If you enjoy Jazz you won't be disappointed. The basement is small and cozy so you feel more about their music. I had the following: Aged Old Fashion - good and a strong drink Chicken/Sausage Spicy Gumbo - it was fantastic, wish I had a bigger cup. Aged Rib Eye Steak Medium Rare - temperature cooked to perfection but a bit under seasoned. But that's ok, nothing like pouring some salt on top won't fix. Better than over seasoned. Then what? Dunk it in water to take excess salt away? Lobster MacnCheese side - it was nice creamy and delicious. Wild mushroom side - it was ok, I was expecting to be cooked in butter or something similar but it was juat roasted with barely any seasoning. Creme Brulle for desert - good desert but nothing that was out of ordinary. Coffee was lacking, felt like I was drinking dirty water.

I loved everything about this place, from the historic building to the piano player and beautiful bar. The wait staff was excellent, and oh how I love good service. The food was high quality, although I wasn't blown away with the waygo beef like I thought I would. I'll go back to this place every chance I get. Highly recommended.

This is my favorite place to get a steak dinner bar none. My wife and I try to make it here at least once a year. We would go more but do not care for the downtown area on Kansas City. The Majestic is one of the true highlights of the city though. If you like jazz music then try to get your reservation for the old speakeasy downstairs and enjoy the show as well as a properly cooked dinner. Their drink selection is always great too. It would truly be a sad day if this place ever closed.

Had a wonderful dining experience here with my team after work! The food and live music was amazing! They have live music nightly and currently seating by reservation only. Make sure to call in or make reservations online. Will definitely come back to visit when I’m in KC.

Do yourself a favor and go to the cigar bar above. GREAT service, GREAT drinks, GREAT dinner. Ask about a dinner upstairs with the waiver of the club membership... A fantastic experience that's a tad pricey, but is phenomenally worth it! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

What an amazing place for an anniversary or a birthday - or just because you want a treat! Service was first rate from entry to exit. The service staff fawns over you. The cooks produce their masterpieces with perfection, the bar is second to none on their mixology and pours and the entertainment sets the mood for a total experience. I had the 32 day aged prime rib with lobster mac-n-cheese (expensive but totally worth it!) and my partner had the lamb chops. Both cuts of meat melted like butter from knife to mouth. The drinks were first rate and strong. I tried the "old fashioned" and my partner had the "paper clip" and "jasmine". We really had a hard decision on refills because we had to drive home. Try the steak soup as an appetizer, you wont be disappointed. Same goes for their cheese cake. Loved the "speakeasy" feel of the place....rich in history. I'll becoming back as often as scheduled allows.

I probably just had high expectations The meat cuts were fabulous Presentation and steak quality were not 3 digit steaks There was nothing extraordinary about the steaks The meal was enjoyable With a live jazz band playing Many people will find this next opinion objectionable but I felt the music was too loud for that space. The waitress had to holler over the racket. We couldn't have an enjoyable conversation during dinner because the drum player was trying to impress us with how loud he can bang the drums. The bass and piano player were amazing at keeping a smile continuously for that long. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating.

To me, an out-of-towner, this place is a classic KC establishment. The Majestic always offers a delicious selection of steaks with an array of amazing accompaniments. Start your evening with an Old Fashioned before diving into their stacked menu. The server we had was more than happy to walk us through the menu and recommend based on our mood. The Majestic always has live jazz music in the basement so definitely go to enjoy the full experience.
