This hotel is not bad for the price. It is definitely an older, outdated building that has some issues with plumbing and being a little dingy. The water smells a little weird out of the faucet and the toilets take quite awhile to flush. You might be a little scarred if you look at how dirty the air vents are and the smell of smoke definitely lingers. The staff was nice, the sheets are clean and they do serve a decent hot breakfast compared to other best westerns I have been to. It was very conveniently located. All in all, you get what you pay for and if you’re looking for a budget stay in KC this is a good option.

My cousins were driving through Kansas City this week and I booked them a pet-friendly room at the Seville Plaza for one night. It was a great choice! They were 10 minutes away, and I was able to drive to meet them and then walk to the Plaza for dinner and sightseeing. A special shout-out to Crissy at the front desk! When my cousins arrived, their room wasn't ready yet, so rather than having them wait, Crissy upgraded their reservation to a room that was available. It was spacious, clean, and had a great view over Main Street. Thank you, Crissy!! She also handled my payment for their room right away, which made it easy on them. It was a great rate for a great room! The hotel is conveniently located at 43rd St and Main, and the parking in back makes it simple if you're towing a trailer (as my cousins were). There's a lovely little garden space off the back parking lot, which feels like an oasis in the concrete environs of the city. The rooms come with free breakfast, and my cousins tell me the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable; they had a great night's sleep! Many thanks to Crissy and the entire staff at Seville Plaza for giving my cousins a restful night's stay in their trek from North Carolina to Colorado. I'm definitely going to continue to reserve rooms for family members at this Best Western! (One caution: The hotel is right next to a QT gas station, and the traffic there is pretty horrendous. So it's definitely better to park in back and avoid the crowds.)

This hotel is obviously in transition, as I think there are three different names for the hotel at this address online and I am the first making a review under the Trademark by Wyndham name. Big pluses include a big selection for breakfast, location to the art museums and strong water pressure with rain head showers. Also the staff is wonderful and even though it obviously is working with new systems- Brian was able to help me as I had mixed up online reservations and got me the right room and Julia was helpful in pointing out the laundry mat a block away. Secure, plentiful parking. Lots of cool sites to see walking around the area during the day (dozens of stellar outdoor sculptures and fountains within a few minutes walk.) Greatest BBQ I have ever had at Char Bar- not far. Can’t wait to see what this team does under the Wyndham name!

Decent room. Needs some TLC, door lock not working, paint cracked and loose in window trim. I hear renovation is in the works.... So...the door lock wouldn't open, two maintenance guys spet 3-4 hours on it. We were given a different room. The heater fan in the new room sounded like an airplane! We were eventually able to get back in original room. Throughout the ordeal, the clerk and maintenance guys were very helpful and kind. Kudos to the staff!

This hotel smelled very clean when you walk in! Nice lobby with spaces to sit down inside and out! However, the room needs a refresh, carpet looks dingy and dirty so much I didn't want to walk on it! The bathroom floor needs to be deep cleaned, the water in the shower was not warm so forced to take cool showers! Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Half good, half not so good. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. From the front desk to the ladies that prepare morning meals, all fantastic! The beds were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was yummy. The location is great, parking is close, and the check in/out process was easy and quick. I will however say, it wasn’t very clean. The bathroom smelled horrid upon arrival, bathroom floor still had toothpaste smeared on it and an empty razor cap laying on the ground which made it clear that it hadn’t been swept/mopped between guests which was disappointing. The lotion and other complimentary body soaps were partially used which was unusual. A lot of the furniture, walls and floors in the halls/rooms were damaged or really dirty. This may be due to limited staffing or any number of issues which caused cleanliness to be on the back burner, but if that’s not a big deal to you, an overall pleasant stay. Again, mostly due to the staff that super kind and hardworking, making the stay a much nicer experience.

I accidentally booked for the next day instead of the night, I was tired and had my 2 boys with me. It was past 1 am. I’m so thankful for Angel the receptionist/security she was so kind she updated the reservation and checked us in quickly and even gave us some water. The two lady’s serving breakfast were so so nice as well greeted me and my kids as soon as they saw us. The breakfast selection was great but we did not end up eating as my kids were still half asleep, every employee at this hotel greeted us the only thing I did not like was how unclean the hallway to the rooms was and how dirty the counters/ remotes were in our room. They were musty/sticky made me question how unsanitary the room actually was the furniture in the room also was dirty or damaged but being so late and us being exhausted couldn’t complain but go to sleep. Great kind employees but housekeeping needs to do a way way better job.

It’s an okay hotel, certainly not one I’d choose for myself. The hotel is dingy. My room had no decorations on the walls. The iron was decent, but the ironing board cover wouldn’t stay on. There was a roach in the bathroom, and the shower faucet’s water temperature indicators are backwards. Also, the shower didn’t drain well at all. It wasn’t the worst experience for my one night, but it’s definitely not a Marriott or Hilton.

Location is next to a gas station that was frequented by loud music playing and screaming people both nights of my stay. One period lasted 3 hours till the police showed up - and took 30 minutes of sirens and PA system orders to leave the property. It was like an episode of Cops! My room has brown carpet - always suspicious. My bath mat had a huge hole in it that couldn’t be an oversight. The o only ice machine was on the top floor - not very convenient to their first floor guests. The free breakfast was pretty basic - dry bagels and bread. The yogurt was bad. Tiny cups were provided for the juice. You had to go to the front desk for decaf coffee. The cinnamon rolls Sunday morning were tasteless. Avoid.

Amazing hotel! My family and I were very well received and well taken care of by the staff during our almost 3 week stay. The location of the hotel is also great, being close to several bus routes that lead to various destinations, including the downtown . Many thanks to the staff who were very helpful and to the receptionist Victor who spoke Portuguese and gave us many tips on how to make the most of our stay. By the way, the breakfast offered by the hotel is hearty and delicious as well. I will definitely stay at this hotel again whenever I come back to KC.

The staff and service were great. It was easy to find the parking was not a problem for us. It’s a good location. The bed was comfy but there was a weird smell. The cable kept going in and out. They are dealing with road construction outside that is beyond their control but affects their hotel. The room we were in really needs to be updated. The carpet was unraveling in spots, the whole place needed a coat of paint, and the toilet and tub had stains.

One of the worst hotels I have ever been. The hotel charged me 75$ for a hole that was in the bathroom because I did not notify it when I arrived and it was reported during the cleaning at the end of my stay. I did not get an answer when I challenged them asking why it was not reported during the cleaning before my arrival. Lastly the billing system is a mess, the hotel charged me 4 times on the credit card, once per night instead of one charge for the stay. The bill that was sent by email only shows 3 nights and they swear I did not stay the last night which is not true. All this makes it a nightmare when I have to make my expenses report. I called to try to solve it and they sent me the same bill. I do not recommend the hotel.

This place could have made our vacation stay excellent but they just kept dropping the ball. First day they closed out our room as if we checked out and we found out when trying to get into our room. Mind you I'm have a sleeping toddler in my arms as we are going in and on the 4th floor. My husband went down to front desk and had them fix it and get us new card keys. Little did we know they also charged us for a extra night of $ 132 taking that away from our vacation funds. Over the next 3 more days that we stayed we had to replace our card keys randomly a additional 3 times.... so frustrating. When we checked out and mentioned to the front desk associate hey dismissed it and said it was removed and now on our bank to fix it... my bank didn't charge us for the stay y'all did. So with that being said we will not stay here again amd do not recommend.

I travel a lot and truly appreciate these little gems that are inexpensive yet comfortable, all needs are met, and have awesome staff. I will stay here every time I’m in Kansas City just to see Greg, who seems to work every day, all day and night. He made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you want to stay at the Hilton, go to a Hilton. If you want a lovely place with charm and personality that is easy on the budget, stay here and don’t be a Karen.

I highly do not recommend this hotel. It is quite filthy. The carpet, bedding, and bathroom were dirty. Hair all over the shower walls, tub, and bathroom floor. I had to strip the bedding upon arrival due residue and hair on them. When I went to use the phone to contact the front desk the phone was disconnected from the wall and so sticky that it was stuck to the table. We slept on our jackets out of disgust and refused to stay a second night.

  • 1/5 C F. 9 months ago on Google
Evening staff pleasant and welcoming. Room is what it is, AC on its last leg and room stays stuffy. Cleaning could use some additional attention, nothing like hair all over in shower. Check out is a nightmare, don't plan on staying here if you have a time commitment the next day. Unfortunately I have to have receipts for travel and being told that the clerk had to leave throws a wrench in that.

Stayed here during a vist to see the Chiefs football game. The hotel is centrally located with a Starbucks and a QuickTrip very close. Free contimental breakfast available with great coffee. Hotel was clean and front desk clerk was nice. The down fall was rooms were every three days and it was presented to us as due to COVID. So beds were not made, trashed was not emptied and fresh towels were not offer.

The hotel atmosphere was quiet and the front desk crew was plesant. However my son in law truck was broken into and the hotel said they did not have cameras in the back for safety and surviliance. Also the breakfast was not enticing and the morning before leaving the hotel security was very rude!! We were trying to warm water in the microwave and she td us we were not allowed in the area because breakfast had not started. Not to mention at 6am there was no coffee available until 6:30 but there was a coffee pot in the room. There are no microwaves in the rooms and I also could not alternate the heat. However the room was not very cold and but the light bulbs were too dim but that is just a preference. There was only 1 wash cloth in the room. The parking in the rear is very unsafe!!! Although I said all of this I would still stay there again only because it was near family and overall it was peaceful and had a pleasant look.

We're stayed for 3 nights and I can say that only negative things I can say are that the breakfast is kinda lacking in options and the room I stayed in had a slight odd smell to it and you could hear the noise coming from the hall. But one person I wanna shout out that has been giving us great service is the front desk guy Greg. He's been super helpful and kind to me and my brother, and is genuinely interested in conversation on how our experience in Kansas city is.

Horrible service. I made a reservation through Booking.com. I arrived late due to my flight schedule. But I called ahead at 11p to confirm my room and to let the hotel know I would arrive late - about 1:30am. They told me that would be fine and thanked me for letting them know. When I arrived at 1:17am, only a night security person was on duty. He messed around on the computer for 15 min. I finally inquired about parking (with the interest of moving my car while he was checking me in). When I came back inside he was on the phone. Soon he returned with a form letter and informed me that there were no rooms and his manager had asked him to “walk me down to another hotel.” He really meant, “we’re sending you to another hotel.” After the shock wore off, But began to push him on room availability knowing full well that hotels are almost never 100% sold out. Finally I said “screw it” to myself as almost 40 min have now passed since my arrival and I walked out and went to the other hotel. Booking.com refused to provide any help and told me it was up to their partner hotel. I strongly advise against this hotel and against using Booking.com

Greg was friendly and happy to help from the moment we walked in to check into to the morning we left. Attentive to find coffee packets for the room and a tooth Brush I forgot at home. This has been the friendly weekend stay I have had in a long spell, at a Hotel. Thank you so much for the Hospitality. :)

Good: -staff was excellent, they were kind and attentive and extended kindness to an unhoused individual who came into the lobby -building itself is gorgeous Bad: -worst sleep in a hotel of my life. King bed was uncomfortable and squeaky, walls were paper thin, A/C made a loud thud every time it started and stopped

We had a pet-friendly room and it had 6 fresh urine stains that no one really bothered to clean. There was a spot of blood around too it smelled so horrible it was like a biohazard in there. The toilet paper roll left had a strip left. Wondering if the room had been cleaned at all. The most disgusting hotel I've ever been to. I wanted to throw up.

It’s possible we just had bad luck. But we had the worst stay we’ve ever had at a Wyndham when we stayed here. We arrived and the front door was locked. There’s a number to call if nobody is there to let you in. 1) the line directed to the front desk, and nobody was there. 2) the voicemail led to a message from Best Western?? So clearly this was an old best western that was bought out, and management just never decided to change the message. In any case, we say there 15 minutes, at which point another guest on their way in let us in. Still waited another 15 minutes or so before the night staff person came rushing in (from where I don’t know). From there, things were a bit better; but still not great. Every guest got a free beverage of sorts, so we got wine (not bad— we appreciated). The hotel itself was clearly in need of renovations. We went up the elevator, and the hallway was gross. Dirty carpets and walls that needed to be repainted/plastered. One of the door signs had fallen off onto the floor. We make it to our room, which is okay. The bed and room were generally clean, but there was hair in the bathroom from the last guests who’d used the hairdryer. Breakfast the next day was extremely underwhelming— essentially bagels and juice. To top it off, they processed the charge (instead of reversing) the security deposit. I called, and they were absolutely emphatic it was reversed despite it being outside the window they said it would take to be reversed. The desk person was extremely rude and told me to take it up with the bank, and it wasn’t until I contested the charge did they finally refund it. All in all, I wouldn’t stay here again given our experience. We’ve stayed at many Wyndham locations over the years traveling, including several in the Kansas City. And this experience genuinely has caused me to question whether we’ll be staying at any Wyndham hotels on our trips moving forward.

I stayed at the hotel for 5 days 4 nights. The staff made my stay excellent. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. Cable and free wifi. There was also a refrigerator in the room also. I took my daughter to attend her 1st year in college there and they made me feel at home. There's complimentary breakfast in the morning. The hotel is in the downtown area of Kansas City and there are restaurants museums and much to do within walking distance.. The hotel is conveniently located next to an all night convenience store/gas station. When I go back to visit my daughter, I will definitely stay here again.. Ebony. Jackie, Ryan, Juliana, Kiki, Victor, Jeff and the owner Doug, I thank you guys for your hospitality, friendliness, and professionalism.

I chose this hotel for a 2-night stay this past weekend based on the online feedback of past guests especially for its location. Unfortunately, the room I stayed in has a distinct odor from either the carpet or the poor air circulation within the hotel. The water (both shower and bathroom sink) took more than 3-4 minutes to wait for the hot water to come through, that was a long wait I thought. I'm sure the management is aware of faulty conditions of their establishment, and they could improve on those existing issues and provide honest feedback on their website for transparency and accountability purposes. Otherwise, the location worked out for me, it's within the vicinity of the University of Kansas medical facility.

This hotel was so much better than I expected. Super quiet, clean and the service at the desk was superb. My only thing that seemed odd is the dining area was beautiful, huge, plenty of seats but basically NO breakfast! Just bagels and muffins. Such a disappointment. Never seen such a nice under utilized space before. Especially for the price you pay.

Room is good. Beds are comfy and everything was clean. It's located on main street in KC so it's close to all the fun and festivities. If you are staying here bring food. I travel a lot and have stayed at hundreds of hotels, this is by far the WORST breakfast. It's only toast and bagels. Overall nice hotel

  • 4/5 Dave R. 9 months ago on Google
As mentioned, the Hotel could use some remodeling, but the price is absolutely a steal for where you are. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. We could walk to two great areas of KC and was a busy ride away from downtown.

Great location Friendly staff Room and facility were clean There was an issue in a charge to my credit card when I received my monthly statement. I spoke with Jackie and she was able to resolve the issue. She has excellent communication skills. She was diligent in finding the error. The phone is sometimes your first interaction with a facility. . I’m not sure what if any training employees are given in dealing with the public, but she nailed it! A great asset!

We were in town for the Taylor Swift concert and the staff was very nice. They had her albums playing on a loop in the lobby and were so accommodating with us getting back very late. Since we slept so late, we didn't get to try the breakfast but they made check out easy and my pending charges were resolved quickly. My biggest complaint is that, for some reason, the sheets and pillowcase smelled like hot dog water. After an exhausting day, I couldn't just curl up into the sheets and relax. I had to spray them with lavender pillow mist first. Good thing I keep some in my suitcase for smelly rooms!

My family and I had an amazing experience at the Seville Plaza hotel! The location is perfect. It is walking distance from the Plaza, and Westport. Besides that, it is close to the public transportation, which makes it easier to go downtown. The staff was awesome. They took great care of us, from the front desk to the room maids. Special thank you to Victor who assisted us during our stay. Victor could speak Portuguese and that helped us a lot! Breakfast was delicious and we felt safe through our stay. Overall we had a blast! We highly recommend this hotel! Thank you!

The room could have been a lot cleaner but I can't complain too much, only stayed one night after having been up all night to hop on a plane on time. So for the purpose of passing out for ten or twelve hours then heading out as soon as you wake it wasn't horrible.

  • 1/5 Kara K. 1 year ago on Google
The front desk was friendly. HOWEVER… there was ABSOLUTELY NO parking for hotel guests. We had to drive around in a circle for over half an hour HOPING something opened up. When nothing did, we ended up parking in another parking lot across the street amongst others, and woke up at 4:45 in the morning to our vehicles being towed. I went to talk to the manager Michael, however he was out for the day. I emailed and got a very insulting response. I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff at the Seville Plaza Hotel is absolutely amazing! Julia and Nataly checked me in and made sure I had everything I needed. They went above and beyond to help me with my trip. Aaron KNOWS Kansas City and is not only a desk person but a wonderful concierge. And Ms. Terri made sure that my breakfast and coffee rocked, all while being so friendly and nice. I will stay at the Seville Plaza Hotel EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to Kansas City. Thank you to the amazing staff!

Its near down town, not far from the Plaza. It is an older hotel in need of remodeling. I would skip this place and go elsewhere to a more up to date hotel next time. my stay was tolerable, the staff was friendly.

This place is very dirty. What happened to pride. Who is checking to make sure rooms are being cleaned. You walk in the lobby, it smells, when is the last time you took a scrub brush to the floor. Elevator is just nasty. Clean the walls and scrub the floor. Wood is rotting at windows. CLEAN THIS PLACE UP

We had a pleasant experience at this hotel. The location was great and the price was right. The rooms are nothing fancy but they were clean. The staff was kind and helpful. A hot breakfast was included, which was a bonus.

  • 1/5 Angie R. 1 year ago on Google
This place is not just outdated but dirty. The shower didn’t drain, the air vent was covered in mold, there was hair and smeared food from a previous guest. To top it off, the elevator was broken and emitted a ear piercing buzzing noise. Glad I only had to stay one night.

Great room and location. We are from KC and stayed there while visiting family. If you are new to KC, this place is just a few blocks from the Plaza which you must check out. The breakfast was amazing. Eggs, sausage, B&G plus all the stuff you get at a continental breakfast. Kiki at the front desk was awesome. Loved talking to her. Management, please play more soul and R&B in the lobby!
