The water park was fun and water was warm enough. But if you are going for the magic stuff then best to go with the idea that you can only do it at certain times and that you will have issues with the technology of it. While we were there on spring break, a busy time for them. We were told the magic is only open at certain times to keep the kids out of the halls. But at the same time they have a yoga session happening in main entrance.... well stupid but sure why not. Then we asked then when it would turn on? Was told 9:00 am. Was not the case, talked to manager with no helpful advice other then to just wait till it happens to be turned on, (it was not turned on by 9:20) we explained that we were not happy with the fact of trying to keep kids busy while the rest of the 3 rooms we had pack up to leave and the offer to fix it was to return the wands if we didn't want them. We decided to try and just wait for them to turn on and when they did they had computer issues so the system would have you start a quest then get 1-2 parts and then tell you that you are not on a quest. We did end up finishing the quests in the end but overall didn't feel like it was user friendly or that the people running it cared about it at all. I very much do not like to leave reviews like this however had I known this in the first place I would have gone to the great wolf lodge again in Wisconsin Dells that is much bigger, better ran, and more to do in the area. So sorry KC but won't be back.

I’m not normally one to write bad reviews. I’m in the hospitality business so I cringe to even write this. We came here 4 years ago and excited to come back. Totally different experience this time. Room we DISGUSTING. Visible stains all over the carpet. We paid $1,200+ for a 2 night stay including the wolf pass. We did not do the food pass because last time the food was just ok. Decided to do breakfast this morning for 2 adults and 2 kids. The buffet was completely empty. My kids ate cereal and a banana for $20…. I had coffee and a biscuit, my husband had bacon & eggs. In total spending over $50 for just that meal. The candy shop and quick grab cafe were closed due to staff shortages. One perk was a VERY VERY nice team member who was so so sweet every time we ran into her. She went above and beyond!! Made our experience a little less blah. Water park was good but not worth traveling 4 hours to stay. We were talking with several groups during our stay since we’re pretty social and those who have been before agreed it has gone down hill. Next time we’ll spend our money on something closer or all inclusive. We will encourage others to do so as well unless something changes. Save your money for something else.

After reading other reviews ( after already booking my trip ) I was very hesitant about my decision. But I’m here to say don’t let the bad reviews scare you off. ( at least most recently now ) Me and my family had a wonderful time here. Everything was operational including my favorite, the lazy river. Everything was clean and nice. The staff was amazing and so kind. The food on site was yummy and prices were reasonable. Our room was nice and clean and my kids loved all the theming. The activities were also a hit with the family. We really enjoyed quality time and made some fun memories.

Fun had by all. Staff is so polite. Kids have such a great time when we go. Water Park is amazing. Food was better than I thought it would be. Very clean and well managed. Not a negative thing to say. Your wristband is your room key and you can also swipe it anywhere inside to pay for things by charging it to your room. I always love that I don't have to bring my wallet down to the water area and have to worry about it all day.

Very fun for the kids, but be prepared to spend an arm and a leg and not sleep well. If we return I'll bring a sound machine with us. I honestly cannot describe the noise from upstairs, I think they were jumping on the bed and then onto the floor, and it lasted until about midnight. Yikes! But the facilities were very clean, staff was SUPER friendly and helpful, and we could've stayed for about three days & nights to really have experienced everything they have to offer. Kids loved the experience, food and drinks were tasty, and everyone was so kind.

We stayed 2 nights and the kids had a blast. Pros: Every staff member we encountered was amazing. You could tell they really wanted to make it a fun experience for the kids. The candy store and build a bear were their favorites. They also loved the arcade and I think it’s fun that it’s open 24/7, although we did not go after dark. Everything was open when we went and there wasn’t too long of a wait for anything. The water park was so fun. Our 2 and 3 year old could do everything but one slide and they loved that. It was also very convenient that towels and life jackets are provided. All the lifeguards were nice but you could still tell that safety was their top priority. Our kids loved the cave theme in our room. I loved that your wristband could access your room and act as payment. Cons: It is VERY expensive. Our 2 nights cost $890. It’s nice that it includes the water park, but we weren’t impressed with the free events. The clock tower show was very hard to hear and there weren’t a whole lot of other things directed at toddlers. The fridge froze our food rock solid. They take the knobs off so you can’t adjust it. I let the front desk know and they sent someone right away to adjust it. But, it ruined all the food we had in there. So just be aware if you plan on bringing your own food. The water park could use some cleaning. There was trash throughout and I saw the same used bandaids laying around both days. There were also several things in the kids tower that didn’t work and needed fixing. We didn’t eat at the restaurants because of the cost. There are plenty of restaurants close by so we went that route for dinner and brought our own lunch and breakfast. Overall, we had a great experience but I’m not sure the cost is worth it.

The most attentive lifeguards I’ve ever seen! Thank goodness there was never a need but the lifeguards were always on their A game. We even saw them get tested randomly with dummies throughout our stay. And they all excelled. I always felt like my kiddo was safe. The overall lodge was great too. Our 2 year old had a blast. We loved the entertainment staff. Noah especially seemed to enjoy his job and keep the kids entertained. And a special thanks to Ollie for stopping and singing Mona songs to our son when he was dressed in his Maui costume. I can see us returning to such a family friendly place.

We are first-time guests and we are already looking forward to coming back. Our kids (ages 5 & 7) had a wonderful time! The water park was clean and well-staffed. The app makes communication and planning easy. The order ahead dining options worked perfectly. I couldn't give it 5 stars because the actual rooms showed lots of wear and the bathroom had evidence of water damage.

I'm torn on this review. The rooms were gross!! The water park was absolutely amazing!!! Their life guards were top notch; always on guard, attentive, and extremely friendly. They have an excellent team that created a great time for the whole family. Tons of activities to keep the kiddos busy from 9am to 10pm. The dance party was super fun! The restaurants there had good food and the nicest staff. The room we had gave a real lodge feel to it. The way they set up the room with the bunk beds was so cute. However, our room smelt like dog urine, and was not the cleanest. We found a nasty slice of pizza from only who knows when in the crack of the top bunk and old box of candy under one of the beds. It was horrible! They told me they had no other room that would accommodate the amount of people we had. It was so bad it started triggering my sons allergies and he had a hard time with it. So we were stuck with that room. The price you'd pay for 2 nights with a family at the minimum, with discounts, would run you about $1,000. I would rate the water park 5 stars. The room itself would be 2 stars. Next time I would go, I would get a room at a different hotel and then get a water pass to the lodge.

Sadly this place seems to be struggling, assuming more so since the pandemic started. I am honestly surprised to see as many higher ratings recently. We've gone once a year for the last 4 years and it's gone down hill over that time. We know that finding workers these days is an issue so we try to be understanding but if there's going to be such a large staffing issue the costs should reflect that. At the least placing signs with warnings and apologies to guests would be very helpful and courteous. Seems like a small gesture after the amount of money guests spend here. Cons: At check-in there was only one worker at the desk. Our kids were excited to get there and looking forward to swimming. Time wise we were looking like we could make it to the water park for a bit but since the check-in process took longer than expected we didn't make it and that was hard to explain to young kids. There's soft spots on the floor (3rd). Carpet, rooms and public restrooms were not the most cleanliness. Nothing great there, more on the dirty side. The place is due for some good upgrades all around. Stains on bedding. Talking about bedding, that was odd. No fitted sheets. Just flat sheet to lay on, flat sheet to cover up with, along with comforter, followed by a third flat sheet on top of the comforter. Pads at the bottom of the baby slides (on the pool floor) for landing would be MUCH appreciated!! Bathrooms in the water park to start the day had almost no soap, finally found one sink with some out of all of them. Also only one paper towel holder that had some. Pool with basketball hoops had to close for awhile. Sand like material in the bottom of the hot tub (also to start the day). Kids jumping off the rock like features into the hot tub, no lifeguard supervising there. Tried to get a drink at the bar area at 7pm and noticed it and the restaurant in the water park were both closed already. Tried to do laser tag and it was closed at one time (the lady did say do to short staff). This hasn't really changed I don't believe but prices everywhere in the resort are quite high so be prepared for that and bring as much food, snacks, etc as you can and/or order out. Pros: they did upgrade with a little concession snack area with tables overlooking the water park (off the lobby). And added the laser tag (we eventually did get to try it). The workers that we did have contact with did seem nice. They do have a feature to text an assistant for anything you need (questions, extra bedding etc) that does seem convenient (we didn't have to use). The important part is our kids do absolutely love this place. They are lucky enough to be young enough that they don't notice the cons. We are really hoping for some great improvements so we can continue to make them happy and keep making memories with them here. Please do so!!

An awesome experience for kids of all ages and for parents. Pool area was very suitable and Warm as well as the water so the kids wouldn't get cold. Well maintenance! Very impressed by how clean it was and how they continued to keep it clean. Lifeguards were very alert and that was much appreciated. The door greater was excellent both entering and exiting the pool area. Didn't get a chance to check out the snack bar but I noticed other guests were pleased with their snack bar service

Not gonna lie, I expected this place to be my living nightmare but i was pleasantly surprised. My boys and I had a great time. We spent 4 hours at the waterpark each day and any lines we encountered for slides were short enough to keep even my 4 year old from losing his cool. The plethora of things to do both in and around the park are vast and diverse for shopping, restaurants and other activities. Well worth the money.

We brought our 3 year old for a 2 night stay. She is a water baby and loves swimming. However, she is usually not big on slides. The indoor water park is large with something for everyone and warm. They keep the air and water warm. My husband and I also did the single rider tube rides which were fun and fast! You have to be taller than 48" to ride alone and 42" to ride accompanied. We couldn't go on the 2+ rider ones as we have a little one.

We had a wonderful time. I'm glad the kids bought paw passes. They definitely made good use of them! But even without, there were plenty of activities to do just with the water park and the scheduled activities. Everyone was so nice and we felt very safe to just be ourselves. Beds were comfy and the hotel enforces quiet time from 11pm to 7am so we all got great sleep. Everything we ate was delicious. The arcade had a big selection of games but we found it underwhelming due to the points cost of each game and the ticket prizes.

Our family had the best time this weekend! It was the first time for us and we've already decided to make it a yearly end of school tradition. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very accommodating for us. The activities available along with the food and snacks were great too! The water park was phenomenal and laser tag was cool too. Rocking good time. 👍

This was a great place with friendly staff. My son had a blast. There was a cap from a soda bottle and an empty bottle of juice underneath the bed so we felt the room could have been cleaned better. I also would say that I am very happy that we packed snacks. Not a lot of options at the hotel, especially if you want healthier options.

We had a coupon for our stay. I'm so glad we did. We stayed one night and my boys had a blast. It's a nice place but definitely could use some updates. We didn't spend much time in the room but we enjoyed the balcony. They have so many free activities in the lobby for the kids. We ran into an issue with our sink and they were able to give us some vouchers for the inconvenience. The customer service is great.. We will definitely be back.

This is my first time booking with great wolf. This was for a birthday. I thought that there was a lot of great events and things for the kids to do. They definitely stayed busy the entire time I really thought that the dance party in the evening was a nice To their day every day. I thought the food prices were very reasonable. I would’ve like to see a small little tiny space for parents, whether it be just a adult section bar or some thing. They have an adult only space in the waterpark but it would be nice to have an additional adult only space. I would definitely say that I would return again.

Absolutely love the Great wolf lodge, I have been to a couple different locations and the Kansas City location is allot smaller than the others, I love that this location has a family hot tub and an adult hot tub when you just want to get some adult relaxation. There are only 3 bigger slides here, they are fun but I must say Colorado Springs location is much bigger and better and worth the drive. Staff are Absolutely amazing here in Kansas city there for your every need! I enjoyed our family stay overall

The hotel is great, the water park is great, the staff was great. I would've gave 5 stars if it wasn't for this thing they call a buffet.. this was the most horrible dining experience I have ever had. You can not call that a buffet. We paid 50 dollars and all they had was old Mac and cheese, old hard chicken, burnt broccoli and 3 tiny little pieces of pizza that looked about 4 hours old. Please just close this place down or just serve regular meals. This is not by any means a buffet, or any place i would ever eat.The one we have here in washington is a night and day difference as far as the "buffet". Whatever you do, don't even think about going to the buffet here. Other than the "buffet" it was great!

Absolutely wonderful place. So much fun for all the kids, grandkids. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Resort staff were very friendly, pleasant, and just a positive pleasure to interact with. You spend a little more, but you get a lot more in return. Well worth the price. We will definitely be back.

Overall, we had a great time here! -Room was clean and comfortable. Some signs of wear and tear, but I’d say that’s pretty common in a room mostly inhabited by children. Was it luxury? No, but it was clean and comfortable. -On day 1, we arrived to the water park around 11 AM. We hoped to get into our room early (I realize there is no guarantee on that) so we could let the kids play a couple hours, then eat lunch and rest. However, our room wasn’t ready until 4. Our 1 year old was super exhausted and just over it by 3 PM, so that wasn’t fun. Again, not the resorts fault at all, just something to be mindful of if you have small children needing to nap! We could have changed and went to our car, got food elsewhere, etc, but once we were inside and wet, we really didn’t want to leave and go outside in the cold. So we ended up eating lunch inside the water park. It was good, fresh, and made to order. A bit overpriced but not terrible. -The daily activities for the kids are fun! -A few nice places to shop, get a snack or drink, etc. I like that all the shops have about everything you could need in the event you forget something (water shoes, diapers, hygiene products, etc) -Wrist bands have a built in room key which is SUPER nice. I put my wristband on too tight the first day but was able to replace it, so that was nice. -“Willow” is also another nice feature - it’s a system that allows you to text any questions to the front desk and get very quick replies! -Wrist bands also allow you to charge anything to the room while out and about. Another really nice, added feature that makes it very nice to not have to worry about carrying a card around. -However on day 2 or so, my wristband didn’t want to work apparently (although it would still let me in the room). Minor inconvenience and I was still able to charge things, just a little longer process and staff were mildly annoyed. -we only ate inside the water park and then ordered a pizza one evening due to it being Thanksgiving. I think it was the only food place open at the time, so the pizza took 35-40 minutes. However, it was hot and delicious, so for $20 and it being Thanksgiving with limited options for delivery elsewhere, no complaints there. -Overall, the trip went better than expected. Our kids ages worked well that our older two didn’t need to be holding our hand the entire time inside the water park. Lifeguards are thorough and diligent and that made us feel a lot better as it is impossible for 2 adults to keep eyes on 3 kids at all times. There are plenty of life jackets/puddle jumpers available, which is great too. There’s really only one pool that was worrisome in terms of depth for my older two, but nothing they couldn’t manage with a life jacket and previous swimming lessons. I can see why some parents don’t find it enjoyable as it is kind of a “free for all”, but I will say most of the water is not deep at all, and again lifeguards appear to be very diligent and take their jobs seriously. I wouldn’t recommend this for someone going solo with multiple toddlers who don’t understands boundaries, but for the ages of our kids (1,4,7) it was totally fine and plenty of things for them to do for all ages. I will say, neither of my kids did the “big, big” slides, but did do the red and yellow slides solo, which was enough to keep them occupied for hours. I mention all of this as I was really worried it would be completely exhausting for mom and dad trying to keep track of them all and take them down slides constantly based on previous comments, but it actually wasn’t bad at all. -I would love to make this a yearly tradition and plan to come back at some point! If you plan and bring meals/drinks ahead of time, this is totally an affordable and fun family vacation and worth the price you pay overall, in my opinion!

Do not miss the opportunity to visit this place. Not as expensive as you might think especially if you have Triple A. Spacious rooms, lovely water park inside and out, lots of souvenirs to choose from, snacks and great food to eat. The best part is you don't need to stay at the hotel to enjoy the water park! You can even get a yearly pass. Fun for all ages, they have a scavenger hunt you can participate in, a video arcade and even mini golf! It's a great place to stay especially for families.

The hotel and water park were great but a bit dated. We had maintenance come to fix our door and they were quick to fix it. The front desk, house keepers, the game room staff, and the candy shop people were all super friendly. It was a good experience and the room was clean. Don't read the negative reviews it was a good stay.

Everything is extremely nice. My only problem is, that I thought it would be something my teenagers would enjoy. Water park is definitely geared towards kids maybe kids up to 10 The large slides are a blast for anyone but everything things else is for young kids and toddlers. My fault I guess I should of looked into it more booking our first trip

Rooms had an odor musty wet stinky smell. Carpets had big stains. Bathroom floor wasn't in very good shape. When laying on your bed you can't see your TV over your feet the TV is so low. Hardly no TV channels. Hallways outside the room are lumpy and feel in a weakened condition. The whole place does NOT accept cash! Nothing is included with the room price except the water park. All other activities cost money and alot of it. Over all was a decent stay but the room was most disappointing for the cost. The water park area is really cool lots of things to do for the kids and even adults.

Staff is helpful & happy. Families are happy. Our room was very spacious, fun for the kids, and very clean, good deal. Waterpark could use a good spring cleaning, but runs smoothly. Lifeguards are on point, but they don't boss you around, just there for safety. We ate at the mall just down the street since reviews for dining were negative.

Spent 3 days/2 nights here as a family of 4 with a one year old and a 6 year old. It was a lot of fun! The water park was really nice, my son (6) is pretty small but he was still able to ride all but 1 of the water slides in the park. Lines weren't too long and the wait was reasonable for all of them. The life guards all seemed well trained and very committed to safety, you could see them checking the water and being really attentive. All of the food we had was good, if somewhat expensive (as expected). The breakfast buffet had a ton of variety and was delicious. I wish we had bought the Paw Pass thing because my son wanted to do the MagiQuest and the build a bear and all the other stuff besides the water park and it was all really expensive if you bought it separately.

  • 2/5 Jay S. 7 months ago on Google
The Waterpark was the only positive of our stay. The food is terrible and way overpriced. The arcade is way overpriced. The buffet is nasty. The booths that you sit in are infested with beetle looking bugs. My wife and daughter were so grossed out they left. The guy working the buffet picks his teeth bare hands then goes around and checks the dishes. Our room smelled musty. Fountain drinks are on an ounce limit. This was our first time visiting and will be our last. :(

Overall it was great for my family of five. Kiddos loved the inside water park and outside but definitely the inside one over the outside. There are cool activities to do during downtime time, magiquest is the most popular. 1ea. wand is about all I could afford and we still had fun with the experience. Good time, good laughs. Food prices though, had to go elsewhere.

We were invited to visit this lodge with friends, and I’m so glad we went. I was concerned that our almost 16 year old would be too old for this, but we as a family had a blast. The pools and slides were the biggest thing for my two boys, and it was nice. They had active lifeguards walking around which was surprising but happy to see. Yes, of course the drinks are pricey as well as the food, but I was expecting that being a resort per se. We went to the lodge restaurant the first night for dinner, and it was OK but not worth the money in my opinion. We spent over $150 on the four of us to eat there and it was lacking. They had a couple of meat options and a few veggies/sides options. The salad bar consisted of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, and two dressings. They offered a couple of types of pizzas, and a pasta bar. I will say the pasta bar is probably the best thing in the buffet. Our room was very clean and well stocked with extra towels, which was very handy. The resort was clean throughout, and they had a few other amenities that are fun: mini golf and a small arcade.

If you have kids and haven't been to Great Wolf Lodge, go book right now! Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. We booked for just a quick (semi-close to home) stay-cation and the kids loved every single moment. The waterpark entertained them for hours, lifeguards were diligently on duty so I knew both kids were safe as they played and played. Breakfast buffet was delicious and a great value for so much food and sitting in an adorable 'cabin' booth was an added treat. The arcade was a fun way to entertain the kids once out of the water for the day (though this was the only place we found to be a bit expensive) and the free kid activities in the lobby like arts/crafts, story time and evening dance party made it so memorable for our kids (4/7 years old). We'll certainly be back and telling friends too.

We recently stayed at this amazing lodge and was astounded at the great staff and the cleanliness of a lodge full of wet kids!!! We had an unfortunate incident with an ill mother that required the paramedics to be called and our mother to be hospitalized for the remainder of our stay. Despite this not being a pleasant way to start off the trip, the staff went out of their way to make our stay welcoming and comfortable. The staff and even refunded the room for our mother, as she wasn’t able to use it at all. It was the icing on a wonderful stay where we were still able to enjoy ourselves and our kiddos had a fabulous time. We will be back I hope someday soon!!! And we will definitely rent the cabana again 🤗

Room was great, mostly! Entering the hotel we were greeted and handled very well. They made sure we were aware of all the events to attend and such, which is great because we had 4 young ones with us and they were free events! 10/10 front desk service. They charge you $15 for renting towels regardless of how many used, make sure you return them. And bring flip flops, very slick. The food leaves much to be desired-at least for their ‘Buckets’ restaurant. We only stayed the one night so didn’t get to try the others, but I’d avoid that one. Nachos were the worst part, incredibly stale chips however toppings/meat were pleasant. Lastly we did attend a couple events, however we lost out on the big one that supposedly lasted until 7:15pm. We showed up at 7:05 and we’re told they stopped doing it, my kids were upset seeing all the other kids do this wand game. A scavenger hunt with Halloween where the kids have to find all these spots on all floors, neat concept. Shame we missed out. All in all you can’t beat Great Wolf Lodge, I look forward to planning a stay again soon.

This is a very nice Great Wolf Lodge to go to. It is really close to a lot of things to do and see! We did some shopping and enjoyed some great food outside of the Lodge but the food inside was really great too! Sporting KC played while we were staying there, and we could hear the excellent and saw the fireworks when they scored and won from our deck on our suite! I would definitely suggest that anyone looking for a great place to stay while wanting to shop, attend a soccer match, or Nascar race should stay here. Especially since Kansas Speedway is just a block or 2 away! The staff was very nice and helpful while we stayed!
