Amazing whiskey selection, great cocktails, and a very respectable number of beers on tap. The food I had was all excellent. I feel like I could've spent multiple days here trying things on their menu. Everything sounded so good. Cool place, cool vibe, great food, friendly service. I really can't wait to go back!

We came here with another couple and we all had an incredible dining experience! The atmosphere was very chill and they’re known for having one of the best bourbon lists in KC, along with an equally impressive cocktail and beer selection. At first, the bourbon/whiskey list can be a little overwhelming as there are so many to choose from. I wanted to try something I’ve never had so we were lucky enough to receive a few excellent recommendations from Chef Celina, who in addition to being a world class chef, just so happens to have an exquisite palate for bourbons. After we got a few cocktails going, we ordered the cauliflower and pretzels to start with. Both were very delicious and the cauliflower was cooked like none other I’ve ever tasted…so freakin’ good! I ended up ordering the cheeseburger and added an egg and bacon as well. The flavor of the burger was incredible, the fries were cooked perfectly and had a slight crunch…everything was insanely tasty! Our overall experience was amazing and we can’t wait to come back. This has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in KC!

Excellent selection of beers and spirits, and terrifically made cocktails at The Belfry. This is a smaller venue, and with COVID-19 restrictions, even less people are allowed in the space. There is some soft seating as well as high-tops. Food here is delicious - get one of everything. I like The Belfry because of the easy ambience and it's a great space if you want to chat with the people you're with. Parking is available through the alley, in the area behind the entry. You do need to traverse some stairs-unsure if there's an ADA entrance into this older building. Restrooms are accessible. Staff was doing a great job following COVID protocols.

Walked here after a performance at the Kauffman Center. Friday night, still had a choice of open tables. Bit of a speakeasy vibe, good for a full meal or just drinks. Intimate little space, playful and sophisticated, complete with candlelight and neat little plants. Kind and welcoming staff. The food menu is small and top-notch with unique blends of flavors. Save room for dessert! (The cheddar bread pudding with bourbon caramel was an unexpectedly perfect pairing of flavors, went nicely with some French-press Irish coffee.) Excellently crafted cocktails (classics and innovations) and generally a great selection of spirits and beers. Everything was prepared with care. Easy to spend a lot of money here, but a really nice treat.

Can't overstate how much I recommend this gem. Came for the whiskey and stayed for the good people, good vibes, staff making me feel like a local. The whiskey was no joke though. They have several single barrels that are exclusive to The Belfry, and the two I tasted were fantastic. Every single element of their burger and fries is made in house, and they have reached perfection. Fresh, interesting flavors that harmonize flawlessly. The fries were the best I've had, crispy with pops of coarse salt. Worth the stop every time you're in town.

We arrived around 430 ish on a Friday hoping for good drinks and happy hour food. Most of the menu items were not available for reasons unknown. The service was slow, we had to ask for napkins, utensils, more water, another drink. I had the grand fashioned which actually tasted very good except for the cloudy glass it was served in. It was my first time visiting so I’m not really sure what I expected but it definitely wasn’t my cup of tea.

One of the best scotch and bourbon collections I’ve come across in the city. Also a great draft beer selection. The kitchen is also excellent. I’ve had the burger with fries, and the chicken wings cooked in duck grease with a side of Mac n cheese. I’ve never been disappointed. Prices are very fair. I had the burger and fries, 2 quality local draft beers, and a glass of hard to find scotch for under $30 Once they open the other half of the business and the pool tables are open, this place will be amazing! Staff is also great, consistent, and will answer all questions you have and make sure you’re never empty handed.

Great atmosphere, great service, not too crowded, nifty drinks and a heck of a lot of whisky. The good: atmosphere is awesome. Service is stellar. Wasn't too crowded. This seems the place to go for whiskey. The meh: prices are a bit much even for non whiskey drinks, but I guess that also keeps the crowds down.... The bad: none

We loved it here back in the summer of 2021! First of all, the atmosphere is perfect, a low key, ultra friendly, yet upscale, spot that feels like a neighborhood hang. The bartenders are knowledgeable and genial, and the rest of the staff the same. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar, and enjoy a conversation with the bartender like you're supposed to. The already great drinks will taste even better. The food menu is really good as well; but, if you happen to get there after hours, ask about their caramel corn. Not usually my thing, the caramel corn is almost reason enough to be there! Really enjoyed our time here, and looking forward to seeing their expansion!

What a great spot. Good little beer menu, and impressive whiskey and bourbon menu, not too mention other cocktails. The pretzel bite appetizer was delicious, as was the Mac n Cheese. Had a great time talking with the amazing staff. Sergio was my bartender and his personal list of hand crafted cocktails was amazing. He told me about his passion for making new drinks so I tried a couple, and although I typically don't do cocktails, his creations were top notch. Overall, just a neat local establishment. Cheers to the chef and the staff!

What a great find! Stopped here for a late dinner during the week. Really nice spot. Sat at the bar, their gin is great. Has the chicken and biscuit dinner, that was great too. Definitely will be back. Great beer selection, great service.

Hidden, sneaky food and cocktail gem … @thebelfrylounge I’m not sure why we have not been, we walk by it all the time but finally went and it was great. The theme for me is randomly perfect. The drink menu is huge and has a variety of options. They don’t seem to go together but again randomly perfect. We all got something we wanted and they were all good. The night we went a lot were Taylor Swift inspired so the names will be different. Food ranges from sushi grade tuna to curry style poutine fries. And why not!!! We got tacos, pasta, and a beirock all in one place and all really good. I got the beirock. It was excellent. The cabbage was cooked down just enough that it was like a sauce for the ground beef and the dough was yeasty and at the correct ratio to the filling. Portions are right in the smaller range, along with the prices. So if you need two things the amount of food and price will be good. This is going to be come a staple in our rotation of places to eat and drink because we can all get what we want in the same place.

The best old fashioned in KC! Huge bourbon list with mostly fair prices for what they are. Pappy at $75/oz was a little steep for me, but the rest was pretty fair.

What a hip place! Fantastic elevated bar food and delicious drinks. Definitely a place where you can get the perfect bite and sip. Cool ambiance and super trendy — a great place to hang out. My favourite restaurant in KC so far. Note: Portions are small so order more!

We had a great time here getting drinks and apps before a show. All the food was delicious, our bartender was great, and the drinks were good. Our only complaint was the portions were on the small side but we probably should’ve just ordered more food. Excited for the pool room to open!

Always a wonderful experience. Truly a gastropub: small, cozy craft beer and cocktail bar with an elevated menu.

Interesting small bar with an amazing drink selection and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We were able to try a phenomenal 23 year Pappy Van Winkle, a whiskey not commonly found in bars. We did not try the food but will be back to do so! (The menu looked really delicious) Definitely recommend to anyone looking to grab a drink that is not at a crowded/noisy bar.

Awesome experience when I was there. The bourbon and beer selection was great. My macaroni and cheese was delicious. I can't wait to go back to KC to try some other things in the menu.

The staff was absolutely amazing! Our waiter was very knowledgeable, the waitress in training was excellent and helped us with as much as she could and the main bartender was absolutely delightful. Very very knowledgeable with bourbon which is why we went there. 10/10 would go back. Such a great experience overall. And the food was even great!
