I actually grew up in Kansas City but have not lived there for many years. As a teen and in my early 20's, I spent time on The Plaza, mostly just hanging out. It is a beautiful place year round but especially in the summer and at Christmas time. It is a shopping area, not in the downtown area, like today's outdoor mall areas. It opened in 1923 so there are many older, historic buildings but is very beautiful. There is lots of shopping and dining experiences to be had. At one time, there was a movie theater but apparently the last movie theater closed in 2019. On a summer evening, it is nice to stroll around after dining at one of the many restaurants. Shopping is also one of the 'afternoon sports' of The Plaza. One very nice thing in this day and age, there is plenty of free parking, that way you can spend your money on shopping and the restaurants. It can be a nice place to take someone special. Christmas time is a big deal because of the Christmas lights. There is a lighting ceremony on Thanksgiving evening that tends to draw crowds. This has been going on for over 90 years though this year was my first time going to the actual lighting ceremony. I decided to rent some hotel rooms and invite my family to Thanksgiving dinner on The Plaza, followed by a stroll to the lighting ceremony. Even if one does not go to the lighting ceremony, it is worth it to go down to see the lights some time between Thanksgiving night and the first week of January. There are several hotels on and around The Plaza area also. It is definitely one of those places that I recommend seeing if you are ever in the Kansas City area for a few days.

Free parking a variety of stores to shop and restaurants to choose from. I found this area of Kansas City to be enchanting and provides a plethora of activities to keep you and your family entertained within a 10-block radius in my estimation. Brush Creek which borders the southern part of Country Club Plaza allows you the ability to walk, jog, take a boat ride and much more...This is a must visit location in Kansas City, MO. You will not be disappointed

Country Club Plaza is Kansas City’s most famous shopping district. On Thanksgiving the Plaza lighting ceremony kicks off the holiday shopping season. While it’s most beautiful with a bit of snow the lights and the fountains bring an almost fairytale appearance to the Plaza. This is where you will find the higher end shopping stores and interesting restaurant choices.

Most people’s favorite place in KC area. This amazing shopping center has many restaurants, cafes, and stores. You can find some of the best Italian, Brazilian, Chinese, seafood and more. The area is very beautiful and has many fountains. Kansas City is known as a city of fountains. You’ll know why when you visit this beautiful area. Also, many people enjoy this area because of the beautiful and colorful architecture.

A nice shopping mall in Overland Park. The entire mall has Moorish architecture, which is very distinct and memorable. It has all the stores that you would expect a mall to have. The streets can get a bit loud as you walk from store to store, but I imagine at certain times it gets better.

Very prerty area with lots of shops and restaurants, seems secure but still got approached by a woman asking for cash, she had a walkie-talkie and I thought that was very odd. One guy is eating on the floor, probably homeless. Also, there are no public bathrooms. This is very strange. The stores do not let customers use the restrooms. They send you to the restaurants. But other than that, it's a very nice place.

We never knew KC had an awesome, clean and lively shopping center. The area was very clean and attractive to customers. Very nice to get your daily steps.

Awesome neighborhood with hotels, restaurants and shops with architecture inspired by buildings in Spain and statues and fountains sprinkled through. Must visit if you are in Kansas City.

The Plaza has always been beautiful to me, it reminds me of when I was a child before the Mall became one big huge building, back then, each store was separated having its own door to walk in. This is that old school vibe I get here, but the stores here are so impressive and beautiful to look at even passing by in your car. I hate the movie theater is gone, that was the best, to be able to catch a show in the middle of the day with just Hubby and I while the children were at school, because this theater was the closest to our job. Now we just come for a quick bite and people watch🥰🥰🥰❤

Went for a friend's weekend, what a great area. Thankfully the Christmas lights were still on, makes for a beautiful added touch on cool architecture. Nice variety of upscale restaurants and name brand shops, with a mix of local spots to keep it authentic. Quite a few hotels within walking range, our view was pretty great even from 2 blocks away.

Went to the plaza to watch the Christmas lighting ceremony and had a great time. I'm glad to call Kansas City home...such a clean City and a massive presence of First Responders to keep everybody safe and sound!

Always nice to go out & walk on the plaza. Lots of food/shopping but it'd be nice if they still had the Nike store down there. Forever 21 is good to have but no plus size options in the store. More "luxury" brands and small businesses down there which is good. Plenty of food options ranging from snacks (auntie Anne's) to high end restaurants

The Plaza is such a great place around the holidays with the Christmas lights on and the horse drawn carriages out.

Stores and sidewalks were pretty clean. Lots of pretty cool stores with fancy things. A lot of cops all over the place. Went here for a small outing and there are not enough barbecue restaurants. I really wanted to go to a barbecue restaurant. Lots of odd activities going on. There. Was this guy dressed like Spider-Man but instead of acting like Spider-Man he was just looking into people's cars so that was weird. Lots of people asking for money. Overall a decent place to come visit though.

So fun and enjoyable waking around. I would recommend anytime of year but the lighting ceremony is something to see and experience It’s very nice but bring $$ The plaza is fun. They keep updating it and making it better. But it is not a cheap area. Bring $$ but worth it.

When you're in KC, Missouri, you should definitely check this place out. Loved walking around and seeing the old structures of some of the buildings and especially the statues.

It was a nice experience. I can't hardly afford some of the things in the stores, but they also have stores from local people. Some neat things to be seen.

Love walking on the Kansas City country club Plaza with my husband and my son, sitting at a sidewalk café, drinking iced coffee, stopping for lunch at a great restaurant. Love the architecture and the walking mall. Great Experience with my family.

Great variety of stores, Vineyard Vines, KC store (awesome) and a good local Cafe. Most stores you regularly see at home, but fun outdoor walking area with fountains.

Nice places to visit, shop and dine within walking distance from the Marriot hotel. Perfect for an afternoon walk with the perfect KC fall weather. Most of the restaurants required a reservation so plan ahead. Oh we even got to spot Spider-Man (apparently not a rare sight) he was to fast to take a picture.

It is always nice to get to the Plaza. It's a great date night place. I love it in the summertime in the evenings. The fountains are beautiful and romantic. There are lots of restaurants and stores to stroll through during the day. If you are visiting Kansas City, the Plaza is a great place to go. You will see all types of people. It is a great place to people watch.

Great place to take a walk on a beautiful day! Much to see and a variety of things to do. After walking a couple of miles and taking a few pictures, it's always nice to stop in at Barnes and Noble's second floor for a snack and iced caramel coffee. 😊

Definitely one of the best attractions in KC. Anyone who suggests going to Crown plaza is a fool because it was downright awful. Go here instead you will actually be able to shop and get food while enjoying it

Nice area with lots of shops to look at. A lot of the shops in my opinion, were on the expensive side or were more geared towards females(clothing), but still enjoyed walking around. The architecture of the buildings was pretty neat.

Beautiful shops, delicious restaurants and some golden people watching. Used to get a pretty good amount of street performers and corner shows but police have nipped them out by now. Really sucks because there were some very talented folks down there. As usual in todays society you need to keep your head on a swivel and be aware of your surroundings. Immature testosterone can be fairly tornadic in the region.
