Decent size lake for fishing. Can be a lot of people at times and hard to find a spot, let alone a spot that's quiet and relaxing. Usually can hear people blasting music from somewhere, but that is county lake style and you can expect that (I guess just bring your own music to blast?). Some nice sized fish in here. Take a drive around and check out the dam and spillway. Makes for some interesting pictures.

Only gave it a 4 cuz I havent been all around the lake yet, haven't fished, ran, had a picnic, or anything. But I have blown up my SUP and gone out on the lake 3 times now over the past month. For that, I'd give it a 5. Beautiful. Clean. Easy access. Multiple spots to blow up and get on the water. :-) dog friendly ๐Ÿ•

This is my home away from home, a little slice of heaven on earth! I love hiking, driving around the lake, or stopping to take some pictures of the abundant wildlife found at this lake. I am always thinking about the next opportunity to head to the lake!

The drive around the lake is 15 mins and I love to take the drive on my breaks from work, there are also hiking trails around the lake and haven't been able to hike through it all because it's so LONG! You can get on your boat, canoe, have a get together at a shelter, or take your kids to the park! Very serene.

This lake's bank line is terrible. There is trash everywhere around the bank line, especially around the spillway. There are good shelters and have good places to picnic. You'll see lots of wildlife, a library, playgrounds and a very old building for events, James P. Davis hall. There is a boat dock area, a ramp to put boats in the water and a nice scenic drive around the lake. There are three entrances to the lake that I know of. The main entrance on the South end, and an entrance on the East and West sides. The shelters are usually clean or at least as clean as I would expect from a public park with a lake. Don't confuse it with Wyandotte County Park in Bonner Springs which is a nice park. Check out the map for more details.

A Unique and Memorable Experience at Wyandotte County Lake My visit to Wyandotte County Lake was definitely one for the books. The picturesque scenery and tranquil atmosphere make it a perfect spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. However, what truly made my experience memorable were the mad ducks and a rather peculiar lady from Arizona named Kat, who seemed intent on jumping in the lake. The mad ducks at Wyandotte County Lake added an element of excitement and unpredictability to the otherwise serene environment. These feisty creatures were not shy about making their presence known, and their antics provided endless amusement for park-goers. It's not every day that you come across such spirited ducks, and they certainly made my visit to the lake unforgettable. The same can be said about the mysterious lady from Arizona, Kat. She appeared to be on a mission, determined to jump into the lake no matter what. Her peculiar behavior and determination to take the plunge made her stand out among the crowd, adding an unexpected twist to the day's events. In a different part of the park, the mad ducks continued to make their presence known. They seemed to thrive on the attention they received from park visitors, turning an ordinary day at the lake into an extraordinary one. Observing these lively creatures was a delightful distraction from the everyday hustle and bustle. Meanwhile, Kat's determination to jump into the lake remained unwavering. Her strange behavior had piqued the curiosity of onlookers, turning her into somewhat of a local legend. The intrigue surrounding Kat and her intentions provided a unique and captivating element to my visit to Wyandotte County Lake. As the day went on, the mad ducks continued their amusing antics, further solidifying their status as the lake's most entertaining inhabitants. Their presence, combined with the peculiar actions of the lady from Arizona, made for a truly one-of-a-kind experience that I won't soon forget. In conclusion, Wyandotte County Lake offers a serene and picturesque setting for outdoor enthusiasts. However, it's the unexpected encounters, like the mad ducks and the enigmatic lady from Arizona, that truly make this lake a memorable destination. If you're looking for a place that offers both natural beauty and a touch of the unexpected, Wyandotte County Lake should be at the top of your list.

Wyandotte is a great park at many of its shelters, but some shelters certainly leave something to be desired. Litter is a serious problem here. I do my best to go through and clean up what I see with a bag and gloves, but within 24 hours, the mess will just be back, again. Something needs to be done to counter the litterers at the park. If Wyandotte Lake were cleaner, this would easily get 5 stars from me. It's still one of my favorite local parks, but trash is a severe issue, here.

Scenery is great. Had a few bald eagles within 25 yards of me while fishing. Shelters are nice to use and kept clean. Overall a great park in the parts.

Perfect outside Wedding venue! Shelter 11 has a gazebo (a little tatered) at the top of the hill from shelter 11. The large parking lot is private when rented for the day. We had our wedding here. 4 picnic tables, and we rented tables and chairs that were delivered and picked up. Large beautiful trees everywhere.

Absolutely beautiful lake and surrounding park. Lots of hiking/biking and horse trails. Only thing really missing is camping or cabins.

Love taking the boat here. Smaller lake that's not overcrowded. Really nice people on the lake here. Just a good time all around!

Beautiful with what seems like endless spaces for many different kinds of activities. This place is massive. They even have running water in all the bathroom areas as well as water available at or near most shelters. Would recommend.

Beautiful area for a great walk! Very quiet and comfortable. The traffic around is carful in watching for walkers. Many places for great photo opportunities. There are also hiking trails, however I stayed on the main road around the lake, and that was challenging as well. Highly recommend if you want a nice quiet place to walk and take in some breathtaking scenery. A great time to go is in the morning to watch the sunrise!!

Been going here since I was a kid. Amazing place, beautiful during the sunset, fun trails, wildlife like deer and foxes, and playgrounds at almost every shelter. A big recommendation from me if you're looking to go boating, wading, hiking, exploring, need to take your kids to a playground, or family outings.
