I thought I would give this place the benefit of the doubt. I don't usually write bad reviews, but I have been extremely unhappy with this office and want to prevent a headache for someone else. My husband and I were both seen here. My visit went fine, but later I got pregnant and wanted to continue to have a primary care physician. They stopped prescribing all of my medicine and canceled me as a patient since I was pregnant. My previous experience at other doctors is that they work with the OBGYN to maintain care. My husband was also seen and was given a standard prescription for heartburn. They stopped filling after 6 months and told him he needed to be seen again. All other doctors that we have seen only require once a year because that is what insurance will cover. They also were supposed to give him a referral and they never called back. Anytime he tried to call to check, he was hung up on. Please save yourself some time and money and go to a different doctor/practice. And the waiting times are just what other people have said so avoid if you can.

Definitely accurate on their low rating and long wait time! I was a new patient and after my assessment with the nurse I waited over an hour for the doctor to come in the room. She never showed up and that’s when I walked out and told front desk. At that point, the receptionist said they can see you now. You shouldn’t have to wait over an hour, complain then you’ll see a doctor. Terrible facility and customer service. READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING!

Need a Rx refilled. I was told I had to come in to see the Dr. I told them my wife is in the middle of doing chemo plus, you know, there's a pandemic going on and I didn't think it was safe or necessary. They told me "there are no sick people here." So apparently they're not in the business of treating sick people but just shaking folks down who want their prescriptions refilled.

I love Dr. Delaney, but the waiting times are absolutely absurd. I thought I was doing the smart thing and made the first appointment for the day. I arrived 15 minutes early, as they ask you to, but they did not open the doors until right at 8:00 AM. Within seconds there were 47 people standing in line. There are only 15 care providers at this facility. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, and assume that some of those people are coming in only for labs, that is an absurd amount of people they are juggling. Even with my making that first appointment for the day and getting there early, I did not see my doctor until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Usually it is at least an hour, to an hour and half of waiting to get in, then another 30 minutes in the room to see the doctor. It isn't the actual doctors or nurses that are the problem, it is the office and billing managers. I also feel that the billing department does some shady billing. This office has zero respect for any of their patients time. You are nothing but dollar signs to the managers of this facility. I ultimately went to a different care provider, and it was really refreshing to get there early, and then be seen early too!

Horrible customer service…if you don’t like your job find something else. I called to find out about paperwork I’m waiting for my insurance to allow me to take a certain medicine and the nurse was very rude ( I wasn’t the friendly person I usually am, I used a straight forward voice because I’m tired of waiting). The form just needs to be signed by the doctor. I’m also tired of the wait time to see the doctor. I check in online, I show up 15 minutes (or more) early and still don’t get called back until 15-30 minutes after my appt time. Then the nurses want to chat about their hair, their families or just random things. One they are finished I still wait 30 min or more to see the doctor.

I went here as a new patient to discuss my depression that I've had for the past 20 years. My company encouraged me to take a FMLA (time off) to improve my mental health. However, I needed to authorize a doctor to release my medical records if need be. The doctor here (Bollinger) refused to assist me and told me that I actually didn't have bad depression. She attempted to tell if I was depressed or not by asking me a series of questions... im no doctor but depression doesn't need symptoms.. she was asking me stuff like if I had problems sleeping, am I tired. Etc. And from my answers she says I'm not depressed enough. It was only about 5 minutes of her reading a few questions off a sheet of paper and she was telling me she won't release my records. Not only this but she asked me how many hours I worked. She told me that she works more than me and is totally fine and I work less than her so I should he fine too. Now I will be going to see a professional who can help with mental health, a therapist. Who will assist me with the paper work for the FMLA. Everyone working here seems nice enough sure. But I can't understand how this lady is telling me I'm not depressed enough to have FMLA and I "have to work, everyone has to work" what the actual F**k?

All of the doctors, nurses and staff here have been wonderful for the past several years, I have very little to complain about. Occasionally wait times are longer than ideal but the Doctors are very thorough, I feel like you can't have both. So if they take longer to get to me, I know they're just being thorough with another patient. The only other complaint, is getting a rush appointment in a timely fashion, they book up fast. But again, I feel like this speaks to the quality of care you get here. When I do have to see a different doctor than my primary, every doctor I have seen has been fantastic.

I really like the practitioner that I saw at Clay Platte Family Medicine, which is why I put up with their foolishness for so long, but I can't do it anymore. Every time I have visited, there are outlandishly long wait times with very rude front desk personnel. I have had multiple issues with billing insurance (always check your statements) and on one occasion was backbilled for a service 14 months earlier. This most recent endeavor, I made an appointment in April and it has been cancelled twice. It's now June, and no one will return my calls about rescheduling. In fact, they even insinuated that I would be penalized because I didn't show up for my cancelled appointment-- when it was cancelled BY THEM! (They did eventually admit that it was their fault they hadn't cancelled it in their computer system.) This is about ten problems too many for me. Like I said, I really liked my doctor, but this office is a disaster.

Expect to be in the waiting room for an hour then wait in the room before seeing the Dr. Not set up for wheelchair in the rooms. And check your bill closely! They add extra charges for things not done. I'm sure it goes unnoticed for insurance patients but if you are self pay it is obvious. When disputing they say they will look into it but never refund any money. And... the receptionist didn't even sanitize the counter after a urine sample was sitting on it. Lastly, they require masks for patients but the Dr had his under his chin.

Customer service is poor. The billing department doesn’t follow through with what they led me to believe, your 1:00pm appointment might get you in to see the doctor by 2:30 if you are lucky even if you are early for your appointment and their patient portal is horrible and never updated. I’d give them 0 stars if it was possible

I have been a patient with this clinic for 8 plus years. I needed paperwork for fmla for my work (which they charge 50$ for) and needed a 2 week extension for the paperwork. This was denied by Dr. Bollinger. She denied it because back in March I couldn’t afford the physical therapy appointments and because of that I wasn’t technically non compliant. Now no doctor in the entire practice will approve my fmla and I might lose my job. The best part is I’ve been going to physical therapy since July. This practice is full of doctors who don’t care about their patients and I absolutely do not recommend bringing yourself or your family there because I promise they will charge you 50$ to 100$ for every single bit of paperwork you need them to fax and they will drop the ball when you need them the most. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Dr. Delaney has been the best Doctor for my Mom. He always takes the time to listen and help resolve all issues we bring to him. She has seen him every 6 months for the last 5 years and we have never had a bad experience. His nurses are amazing as well!

Be warned⚠️ if your doctor asked you a question regarding your health and you answer it you will be billed. And if you're going in for Covid test even with insurance you will be billed. The prices need to be posted for everything they bill for! Walking in clay platte medical is like going shopping without knowing the prices🤯

They only care about making money. The Doctors are so over booked because they want to see more patients that they are able. The Doctors see dollar signs and have no care or concern for the patients time of waiting. As long as they get their next office visit charge. Years ago Doctors cared about the people not how much money they can make.

After my doctor (Dr. McDonald) left the practice, I was sent to Dr. Ortiz for a medication refill. Instead of refilling it, Dr. Ortiz tried putting me on an SSRI, not because I needed it, but because, "I don't prescribe x without also prescribing y." When I explained that I had been on an SSRI previously and that Dr. McDonald had transitioned me off of it (successfully), all he said was, "Well, this is just the way I do things." Dr. Ortiz seems to have a "one size fits all" mentality when it comes to his patients. And I didn't appreciate his implication that Dr. McDonald didn't know what he was doing. All in all, it was a waste of $112 and over an hour of my time. Dr. Ortiz doesn't truly listen to his patients or care about what they need. He's just waiting to be able to retire in two years. Look elsewhere for a doctor that cares.

This clinic always pops up for my area and seems to be very comprehensive. I've lived here my entire life and have had several experiences with different doctors at this particular office since its inception. I can say that the staff has all been friendly/competent and that I even prefer one of the doctors over most places. Based on personal and family experiences, I could never recommend this clinic to anyone simply based on the over booking practices. To me, it speaks volumes about the integrity and quality of the establishment. This place is essentially comparable to a hospital with soaring wait times. Urgent care or other MD's will see you in half the time or less without an appointment. I guess people keep going because they like the Doctor or they just don't know any different but the fact is it's the worst medical establishment I've ever been to in my 40 years. I actually find it comical at this point that essentially every veterinarian in the city does a better job holding appointment windows than this clinic. What does it say about today's health care when the quality has diminished to the point that my dogs get prompt service and we have to wait 2 plus hours just to see someone for annual blood work or a cold? Like the doctor or not, you'll most likely waste a fourth of your work day here in a rock hard chair huddled up with 50 sick people in the waiting room. My father recently injured his leg this week and couldn't even get in at all to see his GP. Obviously popularity is the biggest factor here. It's just important to know how that popularity affects the care or lack there of in his case.

Dr. Bollinger is amazing and I highly recommend her. However, the staff at the front seems miserable and they’re always rude and stand-offish. If you don’t like your job, get a new one.

I was referred by a friend who had a really great experience here, but I wish I had checked reviews because this was the worst time I’ve had with any office. I spent 2-3 hours of my day at each appointment no matter how early I booked and received multiple calls back with different results for the same tests, multiple times. My doctor was great and I liked him, but this practice as a whole needs god. I hate leaving bad reviews but I’ve been nothing but frustrated with this place, playing phone tag, and being sassed by nurses when I call to clarify test results and let them know this process is frustrating. Really sad this place didn’t work out.

I’ve gone here for years because my doctor is great but the organization of this office is so bad. I’m the first appointment of the day and they are some how already running behind and I’ve been waiting for 40 min. I’m sure I’ll be sitting here another hour before I’m seen. So unprofessional. I’m just about ready to be done with this place. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Let me save you the B.S

I absolutely love this doctor's office. If you schedule your appointment you may have a small wait time but nothing to bad. They are a great office and Dr.Kafka and Dr.Kinnon or great doctors. All these 1 stars seem a little dramatic to me.

Dr. Kafka has been my physician since I was 28, so for about 35 years. He keeps current in a wide variety of areas, as gen med physicians should, and his research is impeccable when he is unsure he should answer a question. If it's important, you'll get a personal call at 8 PM. He's thorough, and he listens carefully. Dr. Kafka is a people person; you can tell he genuinely cares. So, please choose any of the other outstanding doctor at Clay Platte. Don't make it harder for me to schedule appointments. :)

I just recently started seeing Dr. Granger after my doctor retired. He has a pleasant demeanor & his staff has been cordial along with more than competent. Dr. Granger listens to your issues & carefully takes the necessary steps to address them. He also took the time to re-evaluate my medications which were causing me some concern. Dr. Granger figured out what was causing the problem. He reduced the dosage with a goal of eliminating it completely. That’s outstanding! I’m very happy with my new primary physician.

I see Dr. Wylie De Vera, MD, and I am very impressed by him and the nurses that work directly with him. He spends a great deal of time listening to concerns and helps formulate a plan to move forward. For instance, I have some feet issues from running, and he helped me get into a podiatrist by placing a referral. I had previously had a lot of issues getting an appointment without a referral.

This practice is the real deal in every way. In house X-ray, pain blocker shots, lab, CPAP machine and products and free nutrition appointments makes them stand out. I’ve had great experiences in time spent with doctors and knowledgeable nursing staff. Best all around care available in my opinion.

Dr.Bollinger was so sweet and gentle. She LISTENED to me and made attempts to put me at ease and make me feel better about the issues. I actually feel like she cares. The nurse tech was SUPER great and easy going. The whole process was easy and stress free.

I’ve been going to Clay-Platte for years now and Dr. Delaney is the best. He is very thorough in his work and dedicated to finding solutions to the problems. The whole office has been great with schedule conflicts, blood work, and over all kindness.

I have been receiving great care and professional treatment for 17 years at Clay Platte Family Medicine. My doctor is the best. She listens carefully and helps to make my life better. She is thorough and orders the tests that she needs to properly treat me. I’ve taken my parents and my son (who has autism) to her. I recommended numerous friends who now go to her, as well.

Unbelievable policy for rescheduling appointments. My significant other has been a patient at this office since he was a teenager- nearly 30 years!!! He unfortunately had to reschedule an appointment three times due to his WORK schedule. We received a letter in the mail stating they were TERMINATING the patient provider relationship. Wouldn’t recommend going here unless you have nothing else going on in life that may pop up. You know, like a job.

I love dr Grainger! The parking is horrible. It’s always super packed which is a result of a poorly run office staff. The last straw was when the lab doesn’t follow the order of first come first serve. I was there yesterday and waited to give blood and some people sat down in the lab waiting room and were taken before the people waiting there the longest…it wasn’t fair-everyone’s time is valuable and I won’t be back.

I have been going to Clay Platte Family Medicine for years. Yes the wait time can be long. HOWEVER Dr. McDonald is a great Dr., and knowledgeable. He takes the time needed with his patients. He is the best Dr. In the Northland that I know! Other great staff as well.

I love clay platte family medical. I have never had issues with wait time or getting in same day, or at least within a few days. Everyone has always been very kind and helpful. Dr. Kafka is always quick and to the point, always willing to run tests if I’m worried about anything, and always listening to my concerns and putting them at ease. Covid is a problem that isn’t going away anytime soon and complaining about the 5 extra minutes it takes to have to get a swab and into your appointment isn’t making anyone look bad except yourself. Take a chill pill and realize things have to be done to protect yourself and others.
