It's definitely not the fanciest Park. There's no playground equipment, the highways right behind it, and there's not even a lot of benches. However, there's almost always geese, often cranes or loons on the far bank, and you can usually catch a fish here. It's a great place to take the kids if you want to be able to get relatively close to geese and water, but not be swamped with 4 million other people.

Chaumeire Woods Park is a place worth discovering for yourself. The views offer a rolling landscape filled with Ash, various types of Oak, and Sycamore trees, including a 2 acre fishing lake. The "Woods" is known by local residents to provide a home to dozens of Canadian Geese and wild life sanctuary in addition to natural spring's. Chaumeire Woods Park is also rich in history dating back to 1910 when it was home to one of the country's largest amusement parks and recreation areas. The lake is stocked several times a year with catfish. Trout are also introduced in the late fall, as a special treat, for those avid fishermen who dare face the winter elements. The grounds are clean well kept on a weekly rotation by the local Parks and Recreation.

For so small and simple of a park this place has an undeniable serenity to it and is great for a sunny family picnic or a quiet saunter around a pond. Parking can be cramped if the fishing a good tho so get there early if ur planning to fish in the pond.

I will guarantee you will catch a catfish, but i will also guarantee you will be amazed at how many baby catfish are in here. Ive only caught 1 big enough to talk about but I've caught 50 babies. 1 perch, 3 turtles and had 1 snake come towards me. It's small enough to be called a large pond, but they have improved the lake and its much cleaner but is also going thru a rebuilding of the ecosystem so it's not great catching babies, but its a lot of fun for kids, so they don't get bored.
