Great beach! Parking right across the street, easy access. We saw so many sea turtles on the beach and right off shore. Please be respectful and give these guys some space-we saw so many people getting too close to them

Beautiful place to view the wild sea turtles. Not recommended for surfing or swimming since the waves are pretty big. Parking can be a challenge in the afternoon. Please keep a safe distance from the turtles since they’re Federally protected animals, and they bite.

This spot is one of turtles' favorite beaches, maybe due to the seaweed availability. Hence, there are many tourists and minimal parking spots. It’ll be nice if everyone keeps their distance within the 10 feet rule. It sucks to see them swim away so soon. Sometimes there are nice people guarding the turtles from people getting to close.

Best place to view turtles! A little rough for snorkeling... Very busy! Come early! Huge backup to drive last couple miles here which takes around 10+ min for last mile as everyone is slowing down to look for parking and turtles it seemed! Parking is limited, some street parking available beyond small lot. If you want to view sea turtles though, this is the best place! Most sea turtles are here during summer months.

What a beautiful beach! We were able to stop by and see a few HUGE turtles. State law requires everyone stay at least 10 ft. Away and with good reason. Definitely respect the local laws if you are visiting please. They help keep these beautiful creatures and beautiful beaches safe. I am so very grateful to have been able to witness such amazing creatures in their habitat and also enjoy the amazing views. Hawaii never ceases to amaze me with their beautiful views!

This was an amazing experience to say the least!! A MUST see if you are in North Shore, HI. Got there around 1 pm and saw around a dozen turtles, they were lined up along the water.

Easy beach access. Parking was a little bit of a hassle; one-way entrance, only right turn out, and having to cross the highway, but there are easily seen crosswalks. The sea turtles feeding on top of the coral was one of the best things to watch. There were a lot of turtles swimming in the water around 5:30pm.

Laniakea Beach proved to be an enchanting destination during my recent visit. While the snorkeling experience was slightly affected by murky waters, likely due to high winds, the highlight was spotting three serene turtles resting along the shore. The presence of these magnificent creatures added a touch of wonder to the beach, making it a unique and memorable spot for nature enthusiasts.

Great place to see turtles baking in the sun and.also feeding off the rocks. We are thankful for the volunteers who keep the turtles safe and have a wealth of information. The beach is swimmable though rocky and if you are lucky enough while standing in the water a 🐒 may Judy float by you while it feeds. I was also fortunate enough to snorkel further out seeing these wonderful and Beautiful Creatures feeding in their environment, nonchalantly being flung around by the tides. As it was a little rough, the water was not as clear. Park anywhere on the road side and take a walk to the beach. Just do it. It is an experience of a life time.

Laniakea is a lovely beach to watch sea turtles, the sunset, the waves, the like. There's a decent amount of parking across the street. However, it can get full during peak times and tough to walk across. Be careful! The big thing are the turtles. People do not always use common sense and give the turtles a wide birth. Locals either 1) kindly remind you to step back OR 2) get in your face and yell at you to get back then call the police. We witnessed a family from the mainland get yelled by a guy, who also called the police on them. Suggestion to parks and rec, put up signs that advise people to stay back. Not everyone knows this.

We had been in search of turtles and we found them here! They were foraging while we were at the beach and there was a group observing and overlooking the turtles who was happy to answer our questions and discuss the beautiful creatures with us. Not a good beach for casual swimming but good for surfing.

I knew there were supposed to be turtles on that liked to come lay to this beach but I ended up even swimming with them and didn't even realize it when I was in the water.I was using a snorkel and flippers. It's also really nice because there is an organization there that stops people bothering the turtles 🐒 if they are a little bit too excited/aggressive, but people can still get close enough to take photos. They also can teach you like anything you might want to know about the turtles.

Pretty beach, parking on road, watch out for traffic going both ways. From the shore, we could see a few turtles in the water. Then this big one on the beach at the very end. It was pretty cool to see it on the sand. There are signs and cameras regarding keeping your distance and not touching the wildlife.

If you haven't seen a sea turtle up close, it's definitely amazing! A must see. Parking may be hard to get depending on the day of the week you go

Great little beach. Amazing Hawaiian sea turtles, spectacular sunsets and some decent parking right nearby. Only con is that the highway is kinda loud, but that's the convinience factor.

  • 5/5 Joshua J. 3 years ago on Google
Tiny strip on beautiful beach with great views. Pros: close to highway and good parking. Cons: close to highway and can hear traffic.

  • 5/5 Larry V. 3 years ago on Google
If the tourist would stay back the turtles would come up more.

There are many turtles, Joni resting on this beach. But please do not disturb them it is protected by Hawaii state law. Need to give them a space, 10 feet away when you are observing it.

Always look forward to stopping here and watching the turtles. We saw at least 20 turtles when we went (August). It never gets old. If you stop you are bound to see a turtle. There is parking on the side of the road which is the main highway so it’s a busy road to have to cross. Usually if the road is busy someone will stop and let you cross. Be carefully not to walk on the rocks on the coast line, they are slippery especially where the slimy moss has grown on them. It’s worth a stop, get out of the car, and see a handful of turtles!

waves can be large and rough. saw a dead puffer fish, kid had fun playing surf. sand was nice.

  • 5/5 M P. 2 years ago on Google
They have expanded the parking across the street and added a crosswalk. You still need to be careful when crossing as they street is busy. It’s not easy to get to the beach. There are lots of rocks everywhere. It’s easy to slip and get hurt. Got to see 2 sea turtles basking. An incredible sight! There are very knowledgeable volunteers there to protect the turtles. They can answer most questions.

This is a nice πŸ–οΈ, you get to even see turtles sometimes. You have to go all the way to the right where the rocks are and you might catch them there.

Go super early, or be prepared for lots of people & traffic. We went in the afternoon & waited almost 2 hours for a Green Sea turtle to appear. Be cautious & aware of all rules & laws concerning wildlife. A conservation officer was there to protect, cord off the area, identify & log data on the turtle that came up on the beach. Very rocky, not fir small children.

This beach was very beautiful. Plenty to see in the water if you bring a snorkel. Lots of different fish, and sea turtles if your lucky. If you see a turtle coming to shore do not rush up and try to snap photos right away. If they don't feel comfortable they won't come up to rest. Many people ran to the water right away and scared one turtle off, but with patience another showed up. Very beautiful experience.

Amazing place to watch sea turtles. Saw one laying down and three others trying to get to the beach. We were there around 9:30 am Parking can be a bit challenging but wait for few minutes. Do not touch the turtles, 10 ft away law whether in water or on land from turtles at all times. No restrooms.

Absolutely stunning! It was a bright and sunny day, truly felt like paradise. Would love to see it again someday. The water was truly out of this world, clear blue and turquoise

This beach is so soft and lively. Not too crowded, the waves break big. There were sea turtles at the far end. I found coral washing up in the sand and got some awesome pictures and my feet all sandy. Awesome time!

My family and I rented a car and drove here to try and see some sea turtles and I'm glad we did because we saw one! It swam up out of the water and plopped itself on the beach to sunbath. It was an amazing experience and the drive there was beautiful!! It seamed busy when we parked on the side of the road and walked down there but when we got down to the beach there is plenty of room to walk around.

The beach was beautiful. There were a couple of turtles lying on the rocks. I was able to see more turtles in the water. They were trying to get up on the rocks. They are beautiful and amazing sea animals.

Nice stop for beached turtles. The turtles can be seen basking on the beach. Definitely a good way to spot beach basking turtles. Be sure to keep your distance from the turtles at all times ( 10 feet )

It's a pretty beach. We didn't see any turtles when we stopped. However, it's not the season for them so it's not unexpected.

Very nice turtle Beach in North shore. You can see lots of sea turtle in this Beach.

  • 5/5 Jonathan S. 3 years ago on Google
Nice beach with only negative being how far away it is from Honolulu. Or maybe that is a plus? Beach is narrow from road to shore, and it does get rather crowded early in the afternoon. If you are coming for whale or turtle watching, best time of year is the summer and from late morning to early afternoon. Get ready for a hike if you are driving to this beach.

Spectacular! Guides to monitor that turtles are protected and roped off. Opportunity to adopt the turtles is pretty awesome!

  • 3/5 Alexander V. 3 years ago on Google
If you came here for just the turtles be prepared to be disappointed. The anticipation is real though; every object in the ocean will look like a turtle! But maybe I came on an off day though....Parking is non-existent so be prepare park on the side of the road then a hike. It's a good beach to spend time with family, tan, or catch a few waves but not an overabundance of turles.

Small beach, but easy access from the road, literally a few small steps down a a dirt path. Parking across the street. Some decent waves out beyond the reff. Seasonal bonus are the nesting turtles that return to their birthplace to give birth to their young.

Best time to come is between 11am-1pm, but I’ve always seen green sea turtles when I’ve visited. Love this little beach! Come during a weekday and there aren’t as many people.

Overcrowded for the turtles. They get surrounded by tourist. Saw people stoping turtles that tired to get on shore. Don't go there or at least stop other people from disturbing the turtles.

We were lucky enough to have a green turtle sunning itself on the beach during our visit to the beach. Keep a lookout because they first appear to be rocks!
