Amazing natural beach located in the nothern part of Sri Lanka. Sea is shallow and it is a nice place to have a warm bath and a perfect spot to enjoy nothern sunset here in the island. Lesser waves makes it easier to have a swim in this beach. Perfect place for beach lovers and i would highly recommend it.

Casuarina beach is located in Karainagar. The name Casuarina is derived due to casuarina trees present in the beach. This is one of the best beach in Island which contains white sand and is very clean... This place was not crowded when we visited, could be due to fear of Covid... Would need to travel around 20km from Jaffna to reach this place...

Nice beach and relatively clean. One of the best places to watch the sunset!Getting here is a challenge with poor road conditions. Safe water for kids with small waves. Quite a nice place.

One of the best places to spend some relaxing time and have a good sea bath in the Jaffna Peninsula. Hardly any sea waves, almost like a tank. Water not polluted. There are Sri Lanka Navy lifeguards at duty all the time. Safe boundaries are clearly marked. Suitable for families and large groups with kids. Advisable to bring your own food as there aren't any good restaurants around. 'Kasuri' brand ice creams available. Few shower rooms, common for both genders. Separate changing rooms. These facilities needs to be improved considering the high vehicle entrance/parking fees charged. Best times to visit are in the morning before 10am and evening after 4pm.

A beach where I saw the minimal pollution.. Actually I can say no pollution at all.. Everything is well managed and organized. The blue sky with fuffy white clouds which add colours to the sunny sky, the first impression was amazing, The white sand had not left a single clue of wasteful items.. A Polythene free zone. Infact bottles, slippers, bags bla bla anything usually we see commonly in a beach can not be seen that easy. Can see the underwater livings through the clear water. The entire area is rich with pinus trees where the tiny cones, needles; acicular shaped leaves cover the beach. They maintain separate changing rooms, washrooms for those needed. Those too properly maintained and cleaned. Leave only the footprints and come back with memories, not anything else.. Safe bathing areas are available.

Like all the tourist beaches in Jaffna, this is one more garbage dump, dirty water, and neglected and abandoned beach. I have paid 500 rupees to visit a dump, which in the face of tourism is promoted as a beautiful place, and when you arrive you find a very different reality, literally the opposite, it is sad to see the conditions in which most tourist spots are found, And for what you are going to see, you also have to pay tourist prices. It is sad and unfortunate. The sand is a collection of assorted plastic, and most of the trees are cut down, but that doesn't seem to matter to the local people, who accept their landscape as it is. Local people pay 250 rupees to enter a public beach. They have police lifeguard service. You will also enjoy seeing countless street dogs dead in life, as in all of Jaffna and the rest of Sri Lanka. The difference is that in this area they are in much worse conditions. One thing to highlight is the road to this beach, despite the fact that it is in very bad condition, the views are very beautiful, a lot of nature, not yet totally destroyed by man.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Casuarina Beach, and I must say it was an experience I will cherish forever. This pristine stretch of coastline is a true hidden gem, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquility. From the moment I set foot on the soft, golden sands, I was captivated by the sheer serenity of Casuarina Beach. The gentle, rhythmic waves lapping at the shore provided a soothing soundtrack to my stay, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. The absence of crowds and the untouched landscape added to the allure of this place. What sets Casuarina Beach apart is its unspoiled natural beauty. The casuarina trees lining the shore not only provide much-needed shade but also lend a unique charm to the beachscape. It's the kind of place where you can take leisurely strolls along the shore, take in breathtaking sunsets, or simply unwind with a good book while listening to the sound of the waves. In terms of amenities, while Casuarina Beach may not be as commercialized as some other destinations, it's precisely this simplicity that adds to its charm. Be sure to bring essentials like water and sunscreen, as there are limited facilities on the beach itself. In conclusion, Casuarina Beach is a true haven for nature lovers and those seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's a place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to reconnect with nature and yourself. I can't recommend it enough and look forward to returning to this paradise on earth.

One of the nicer beaches on the Jaffna peninsula. The beach is clean. The water is shallow for a long way. You can hire a boat from the Navy guys if you want to go for a short ride. There is a small entrance fee: it’s 500 rupees per person for foreigners and 300 rupees for our car. I think a van would cost a bit more.

Undoubtedly the best beach strip in Jaffna. Situated in Karainagar and can be accessed after a 40min drive from Jaffna. The road from Jaffna to Karainagar is not in the best condition. Best time to visit the beach is around 5.30pm for a scenic view of the sunset. During the first few months of the year, there are no waves in the ocean which adds to the calmness of the place.

I think it's a must visit if you go to Jaffna. Very shallow water for a long distance ideal for bathing. There were changing rooms and very clean toilets. Only around 10 people were in the beach when we went there.

Its a hidden beach some 20km from jaffna town. Recommended for families & kids. They have place for kids activities too. But a little cleaning required. No lifeguards or police on duty.

One of the greatest beaches in Jaffna, low waves in this time of period and family friendly beach. Entrance fee LKR 800 for coach bus.

Considered as the north’s favourite beach, the Casuarina Beach happens to be named so because of the abundance of Casuarina trees found at this place. It has been protected from human touch over many years. This beach lies north of the Karativu islands, on Karainagar Island, which is one of the largest islands in the peninsula. It is approximately 27 kilometeres away from the town of Jaffna which is roughly a 45 minute drive by direct bus from the town that goes along the Ponnalai causeway that connects the mainland to the island. The drive is beautiful since you can see many salt pans and water on both sides. Casuarina Beach is now a popular attraction for tourists because of its unique soft white sands, clear shallow blue waters with no waves and absolute relaxing atmosphere; making it a very different beach from other beaches of the island. A dip in the water at this beach is a must since there is a long space of shallowness making it pleasurable for a bath. Experience the shallow waters by going out on a boat out to sea, where you can enjoy the abundance of corals as the sun shines down on the clear blue waters. During your visit to Jaffna and if looking for a place to relax and unwind, then this is one of the best places to visit.

What a beautiful beach... But there were mud in the shore and my leg hit a big cement stone in the water.

One of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. Clean and safe. There are lifeguards on duty from Sri Lanka Navy. Can walk about 100m towards the sea.
