Beach was empty at 9am. We wanted to enjoy before the crowd and the heatwave. Water was ok and very sandy. You can walk about 50ft with water only to your waste.

Nice beach located at the top of the country. Perfect venue to spend an evening with some Palmyrah toddy. Entrance to the area closes at 6.30 pm therefore its preferred to plan out the trip and adhere to its operating hours.

Beautiful place to go to during the evenings. In a beautiful island called Karainagar just off the peninsula of Jaffna. Palmyra trees and fresh seafood was just the way to spend our time

Like all the tourist beaches in Jaffna, this is one more garbage dump, dirty water, and neglected and abandoned beach. I have paid 500 rupees to visit a dump, which in the face of tourism is promoted as a beautiful place, and when you arrive you find a very different reality, literally the opposite, it is sad to see the conditions in which most tourist spots are found, And for what you are going to see, you also have to pay tourist prices. It is sad and unfortunate. The sand is a collection of assorted plastic, and most of the trees are cut down, but that doesn't seem to matter to the local people, who accept their landscape as it is. Local people pay 250 rupees to enter a public beach. They have police lifeguard service. You will also enjoy seeing countless street dogs dead in life, as in all of Jaffna and the rest of Sri Lanka. The difference is that in this area they are in much worse conditions. One thing to highlight is the road to this beach, despite the fact that it is in very bad condition, the views are very beautiful, a lot of nature, not yet totally destroyed by man.

Access road is not in good condition. But worth to visit this place if you love sea bath. Beautiful shallow beach. Has life guard service. It is very safe to bach here. Has access to fresh water with additional charges. For a car you have to pay 300 rupees at the gate.

This is a reasonable beach area, much better than many others on the peninsula and islands. There are a selection of food stalls and plenty of shaded places to sit. Fairly good toilets and changing areas. There is a navy lifeguard and we saw a worker clearing up rubbish leaving the beach clean. Not sure about the entrance fee, we parked at beach road and walked along the beach to get here.

The beach is beautiful. But they charge 300rs just to enter the area. This is totally not worth it. Not that much food stalls even. The water was warm in the evening.

This location was amazing, the beach is pretty clean and have ample parking(Rs 300 parking fee for cars). They are still in the process of improving. They have an issue with fresh water, they charge Rs.50 per head and give max 2 mins, the showers are below par sadly. Also I'd strongly advise against taking the shorter AB17 road from Jaffna as its disastrous, instead opt for the AB21, its longer but most of the road is properly surfaced.

One of the best and safest beach for a swim. You will have to purchase a ticket for the vehicle at the entrance.

Casuarina Beach is in Karainagar, Jaffna District, Sri Lanka. The Casuarina Beach in Karainagar is also called and written as Casoorina, Cashoorina and few other variants. This is considered to be the best beach in the Jaffna Peninsula with white sand.

It was a good beach. Water level is not much high since the slope is not rapid. But it gets muddy further you go away from the beach. Isolated sea rocks can be there. Besides that, feeling is so self soothing.
