Called to make a last-minute reservation and was surprised to find out later we snagged the last two seats in their 8-seater counter-only Omakase restaurant. Sushi was super fresh and matched the price we paid. Service was exceedingly warm and hospitable to wrap up a fine meal, including interactions with the chef and assistant between courses. Caveat: pictures do not depict the full course — some I ate in haste 😝

One of the best meals I have ever had in my life. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere with the other guests was perfect and fostered by the chef. It is an omakase only sushi restaurant so be prepared for that journey. For us it was perfect. We cannot thank the chef enough, a truly wonderful experience.

Amazing omakase sushi experience for a very fair price. Very fun sushi chef who is extremely professional skilled but also quite casual and easygoing. Great atmosphere speaking with him and neighbors. Never felt rushed or unwelcome. Food is absolutely spectacular, and there are many great drinks to choose from - I really recommend the sake.

we made a reservation here after reading the numerous good reviews here and it surely did not disappoint! this is the best meal we had in japan! every dish was well balanced and sooo flavourful. the various fish served were also extremely fresh. despite the language barrier, the chef still answered all our questions. he is very friendly, hospitable and funny which made us very comfortable! :) i highly recommend trying this omakase out whenever you’re in kyoto. i’ll be back for sure! total damage for 5 pax was ¥68,750 (worth every single penny imo)

We had an amazing time here. We were able to book quickly in English over the phone. Seiji and Mio were the best hosts. We were so lucky to experience fresh and delicious dishes, hand ground wasabi, and the best sake I’ve ever had. If you are looking for an intimate, friendly, and delicious omakase experience, this is the place.

We were able to find two seats for a late omakase and the experience was fantastic! The chef made delicious dishes with funny jokes. That was a very great sushi experience! 👍🏽どうもありがとう

An absolutely incredible experience - the sushi itself was the best I’ve ever tasted. We had the omakase menu and it was perfect, supported by a wonderful chef who helps make the whole experience one of the best in Kyoto. I strongly recommend making the effort to try this amazing place! It is definitely worth the price - better than many high end sushi restaurants in the area.

very very happy with our visit. Chef Numoto is very friendly and thesushi is excellent. We were surprised by dishes we had never tried before (like preserved oysters, meat from around tuna eye, despite the vivid image it was excellent!!). Very happy to have restaurant serve Riesling to the sushi as this is the perfect combo in my opinion. We also tried the home made Umeshu (plum wine) with Whiskey base. It was awesome and the smokey flavor was perfect with plum flavor. Ill let the pictures speak for themselves.

Amazing experience!! Every bite was delicious and worth the price. Coming from California I have experienced some nice sushi but this was something else. Even though it was only me dining, I had a great time. The chef was warm and funny and so nice. 👌🏽👌🏽
