The perfect Old Fashioned w/ ice carving flare! You will not be disappointed. Foreigner friendly, impeccable service, amazing ambiance, and incredible quality. One of the best bars we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Really one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. Really nice small bar with expert music. But by far the best part is the absolute professionalism and expertise of the bartender. Less of a service and more of an art, amazing tasting drinks and very much worth the price. Just watching the ice cutting form alone is worth it.

Wasn’t on many recommended list so I didn’t see this but what a happy find. Really great cocktails that bring new flavour profiles you wouldn’t expect; and isn’t that the reason we go cocktail bars? Wouldn’t spoil the surprise but you get everything from vanilla ice cream to curry to caramel popcorn to insects (eh I didn’t try this last one). Bartenders have good enough English and they have English menus too so no issues for foreigners. Usual service charge apply but oh so worth it.

Wow. This was a hidden gem. Basement bar with welcoming staff that can speak English. Super friendly mixologist! The place is very tastefully decorated with a soundtrack to boot. I am a big Ghibli fan and they so happened to have a Ghibli menu! Also the cocktails were not too sweet. And we’re very balanced. Definitely would return again!

We aren’t new to Japan but new to Bar Composition and it was a lucky find after dinner. Once we found it, we came two days in a row and tried almost their entire menu. This is a low key spot with absolute craftsmanship for their drinks. There is care and attention for each cocktail and the atmosphere is chill and a great place to have conversation with your company and not have to yell over music. It’s one of our top destinations for future trips! Memorable and excellent service!

Bar Composition is a great spot to try really creative and tasty cocktails. The bar itself is really cool and intimate, with a chill selection of music. The staff are exceptionally friendly and talented in their craft. Highly recommend.

An absolute must stop for anyone who enjoys unique & amazing cocktails (also excellent whisky and tequilla selection) in a Zen oasis hidden in Shinjuku. One of if not the best speakeasy bars! Staff is amazing and only adds to the experience. Worth a visit!

Great little speakeasy hidden in a small basement. The staff is very friendly and some of them can speak English. The drinks are out of this world. The mixologist created some amazing drinks based on the alcohol my liking. Highly recommend it.

Amazing 🍹 bar in Shinjuku area, we googled it and were pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of the drink selection! Great themed drinks - highly recommended! Must try! A hidden gem, you’d appreciate this place.

What a phenomenal find! It’s sneakily hidden in an alley (look out for a small standing board along the storefronts) but a beautiful vibe inside with moody walls and hanging vibes. My all time favourite cocktail was their banana-whiskey one (don’t recall the name) - highly recommend!! The berry tea based foamy cocktail was yummy too..

Well-balanced, inventive, and delicious drinks. The Sukiyaki Song is the best drink I’ve had in a long time (all 5 drinks that we tried were amazing TBH). The ambience is chill and peaceful; I only wished I was in Tokyo for longer so I could visit this bar repeatedly.

This bar is fantastic. They have a good selection of spirits and great cocktails. They have their rendition of classics and they have some that you won’t see anywhere else. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming. Entrance gives it a speakeasy feel.

I’ve been staying in Shinjuku for the past 2 weeks and been looking for a good bar to camp out at. Thru a friend we found Bar Composition. Wow! This place is incredible and has an incredible menu. The creativity behind each drink is amazing. My first order was the Taming Beast, amount other thing it comes with vanilla ice cream and insects. You heard that right, insects! My next order was the Velvety Royal which comes with strawberry purée and marscapone. If you’re a craft cocktail fan, this is a must stop.

Menu are fun, unexpected and some pushes the edge (a bug as drink’s topping) They are also in english My fav; Season’s calling and Spicy Margarita. Alot are good and depends which you are going for. Lemon cake also comes as seating fee. The bartender is Japanese who makes all the drinks but doesnt speak english so he is not the most interactive but the drinks speak for itself. One of them is a foreigner so no need to worry! Recommended to call ahead as seatings are limited. onky one corner private table for 4 is available!

Highly recommended- great bar for craft cocktails. Excellent bartenders. You can get by with English - they have an English menu and speak enough for anyone. Basement level - a little hard to find like the rest of the bars in this area but worth it.

I really enjoyed my time here. The Bartenders are extremely sweet and ensure you are having a good time. The drinks are so unique and delicious. Order the Woodlands Gin Tonic and thank me later. Also, Haru and Sowa are so great!

I was thoroughly impressed with my experience at Bar Composition - they had such a creative cocktail list, with fantastic bartenders! I loved the atmosphere and would highly recommend this place.
