😠 The one and only tour that frustrated us after being in Japan for 2 weeks. In short, do not expect this agency to be accommodating to your needs or situation; they’re sole purpose is to take your money, give you some drinks and show you around for 3 hours (which you can do with a lot less money)…if... The bar hopping night tour in Shinjuku was a great experience! The guides for the night were Ayano and Kei, both really nice, helpful and knowledgeable. We had food and drinks in two different Izakayas and we topped the night doing a sake tasting in a small bar on the 10th floor of a building with a nice view! We were a group of 9 guests, all Americans apart from me that I’m Italian 😂, at the beginning we were quite but after few drinks we all became very chatty and we had a good laugh! I definitely recommend this experience!! Thanks again to our guides

I did the Shibuya Bar Hopping Night Tour in Tokyo and was a little disappointed. For me the itinerary was too structured, in the first 2 places we went there’s a plastic menu to choose your food and drink from, quite restricted choices, and no real opportunity to try lots of different things - which is what I want from food / drink tour. Looking back on I think this tour is just a bit confused, is it a food tour or a drinking tour? Because it tries to be both I found it fell short on both counts. On the positives, it was well organised, good communications about where to be etc.

The one and only tour that frustrated us after being in Japan for 2 weeks. In short, do not expect this agency to be accommodating to your needs or situation; they’re sole purpose is to take your money, give you some drinks and show you around for 3 hours (which you can do with a lot less money)…if you don’t show up on time, or if you don’t find their meeting spot, your money is gone with 0 accommodation or refund policy! All they had to do was to call us and clarify the meeting time and spot closer to the date…they did not, and I would not have expected them to do so if the other 4 agencies we booked tours with didn’t either, but they did! When we compared how our other tours approached us (before and after tour was done) to MagicalTrip, we realized how unmagical this tour is!

We did a tour of Asakusa. We showed up 5 minutes before the meeting time of 10:50am. We then waited for the other participants of the tour for 25 minutes. On the email we received, it clearly stated that the tour will begin on time, out of respect to other participants. This was not the case. We waited until 11:15 in bad weather. I don't think it was right that we needed to wait for people who are late when we were on-time. I don't feel like our time and comfort was taken into consideration in this case. Other than that, the tour was good. We did interesting activities and the tour guide was nice.

Wonderful night out with great guide Miyabi. Got to see and experience things I would never have felt comfortable doing on my own. Awesome. And as a guide she really went above and beyond. Made sure everyone knew how to get back to hotels and even took Us to right trains. So I can really recommend this. Go. Have a fun night out.

Magical trip cancelled all our tours last minute which was very stressful. Don't think the company has any guides so they come up with excuses that the guide is sick, the venue has no space, etc. Please don't book with this company as they cancel last minute.

I have been on over 30 guided tours in 7 countries and none of my tour guides were as cool as Sho. He made the experience for the Anime and Gaming tour. He showed our small group some of the cool spots in the area and had a lot of knowledge to share. We all genuinely had a great time and I think it was because Sho was so friendly and inviting and made sure we all had our questions answered and we all enjoyed ourselves. If I had more time in Tokyo, I would be signing up for more guided tours by him.

This was an amazing experience. So glad we did. Sho and Yuko were excellent guides, and we were shown so great little spots that we never would have found on our own.

Show and uko were phenomenal hosts and made us all feel very specific on our snack bar tour. Cannot recommend them enough!

I recently did Magical Trip’s Tokyo Bar Hopping Night Tour in Shinjuku. Wow, what an incredible evening we had on this tour with Cammy as our guide! He's a gem! From start to finish, we had an absolute blast. I'm so grateful to the team at Magical Trip and, of course, to Cammy for making the tour so much fun and easy for us! Some of the highlights included trying Hoppy mixed with a shot of shochu for the first time, savouring a delicious custard taiyaki, and visiting a saké bar! We were on the tour with five other people from all around the world, and everyone was lovely. We even had a sing-along at one point, and everyone was blown away by Cammy's voice. Boy, can he sing! I can't promise you'll be lucky enough to experience that, but it was a highlight for sure. :) I can recommend, especially for travellers with limited Japanese. It's a fantastic way to explore Shinjuku and create wonderful and lasting memories in Tokyo!

Magical Trip @ Shibuya was awesome, we had Miyabi as the guide for the evening. She showed us some really awesome bars with great food, snacks and drinks. As a veteran tourist in Tokyo, I have to say a trip with Magical Trip is a must to really get a real insight of what the local bars are like. The food and drinks served were great and so was the company. Miyabi took us to 3 awesome bars and shared with us lots of great information and recommendation for the rest of our stay in Tokyo! I would recommend making bookings in advance as the various availability go pretty quickly for hotspots like Shibuya. Thanks to Miyabi and Magical Trip for a great night out!

We had the best night, in a very small group, together with a lovely Australian girl, Yu was a great host. The little bars were awesome and the food and drinks great and unusual for us. Yu was very eager to tell us everything he knew and we had a great connection with him. We shared many stories and learned a great deal about Japan and most of all had a lot of fun so that it was hard to end the night when our tour came to an end. We ended up meeting each other two nights later on a personal initiative and went to the most amazing Karaoke bar to celebrate our final evening in Tokyo (Rainbow karaoke), thanks so much to Yu! We feel like we have a new friend and hope we will meet again someday. If you ever doubt booking Magical trip, don't, it is the best choice we made for our trip! We hope next time there will be a Magical trip that includes a karaoke bar as the final stop, we feel that would be awesome!!!

I visited Tokyo Japan in February 2020. So I can highly recommend the Bar Hopping tour. Your guide will take you to some very special places and you will get to taste a bit of the Old Tokyo aswell as some delicious food and drinks and then if it is to your liking , you may get a chance to visit a Sake club/bar... This was a high light of my trip to Japan. You will not be disappointed... Rod Thomas...Perth Western Australia

I did a "bar tour" in Tokyo. I went as an individual and met a few other travelers. Some couples and many solo. It was super fun and we all shared stories about our trip so far and what we learned as international travelers. When I return I will be definitely use them again. It was not only a wonderful experience but also a great value for the amount of authentic food and drinks we were given (choose from fixed menu).

I was surprised on how fast I would get a response from this company. The day that we chose was booked but they told me that if something would be available, they would contact me. Which after several days , they did contact me. They were very professional and attentive. Rina was the tour guide assigned to our private group. Her directions and instructions on where to meet was descriptive enough for me to understand. Rina’s English was good and she answered every question that we asked. She also gave many good information on our walks to our destination and back. I would highly recommend Magical Trip.

We registered for a a nighttime tour of Shinjuku and Ebisu water-holes and small Yokocho diners. Rita was a wonderful host, eloquent and informative.she made the tour fun and created a very good atmosphere. At the end of the tour we had bonded with the rest of the group and felt we had made new friends. We hope and pray for better times and a COViD free world, in which we can travel back to our beloved Japan and join another of your tours again. Best wishes. Ruth Pugatch Dorit Shafir

A complete waste of time and money. The company does not respond via phone prior to the tour and customer service is extremely lacking. I just threw away $200 bucks on this and did not get what we paid for.

Tommy and Misa were amazing tour guides. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable and friendly, it was so great to speak to locals that know the area and could share their experiences living and working there. It felt more like meeting up with friends that just happen to show you around and explain a lot of cool stuff than a scheduled tour. The tour was reasonably priced, and we definitely received more than fair value for it. When we go back to Tokyo, we are absolutely booking another tour, and I've recommended it to family and friends that have made the trip.

We had a memorable introduction to the old Tsukiji Market with Nao and Rina. They provided many interesting bits of information that we didnt know, brought us to a variety of shops selling different items, took our requests for certain foods into consideration and brought us to the relevant shops, brought us to a hole-in-the wall, very local, sushi lunch eatery and helped us order the freshest bowls. Rina took beautiful photos for us and sent them to us thru her phone - giving us great mementos of the trip (which we long to make again but who knows when that will be now...?) Nao, who became a guide after corporate retirement, shared his interesting life and experience. Both guides were comfortable enough to share about their backgrounds and family life with us. As foreigners, we felt that we were making friends with local Japanese people (who spoke marvellous English) and were given a small glimpse of their Japanese life. That sweetened the experience of our trip. On a short, itinerary packed, self planned trip like ours, we do not usually get to meet and talk extensively with locals. I am so glad we booked this tour because our 2 children got the opportunity to have a one-on-one encounter with local Japanese people. Arigato! I only wish the tour was longer and we could skip the lunch place (which was fantastic but filled our tummies for other delicacies)and just buy and taste various seafood, beef, egg rolls, desserts, fruit, tea, ice cream, sake etc etc ALL OVER the market! It was a little sad to say goodbye to Nao and Rina at the end of the short tour. We wish them and their families the very best, to emerge stronger through this difficult time and hope to see them again when we book the next Magical Trip! Ganbatte!

We had a lovely afternoon with Yoko in Yanaka! She was really nice, patient and insightful. We had lots of fun walking around, we visited a Shinto shrine, tried Japanese sweets and decorated luck cats. Thank you Yoko!
