What a wonderful place… this was truly the best stay in my 3 months in Sri Lanka. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and we could not have spent a more magical weekend. It is a truly peaceful and relaxing boutique hotel placed in the middle of nature, not so far from the ocean. The garden in well cured, full of butterflies and beautiful birds (great place for birdwatching). We ate wonderful food, and the hospitality was incredible. You feel like you are in a 5-star hotel as they put so much care in everything and they are very kind and accomplished. They were also flexible on check-in and check-out times, which allowed us to enjoy every minute of our holiday day without any stress. The beach is not far (you can reach it walking or by tuctuc), it is beautiful and not crowded. You can swim there without no hassle and you can also visit turtle hatcheries. At Happy Man village they can arrange for guests a variety of activities. For instance we had a wonderful massage. They also keep in touch with local fishermen and can bring you see turtles laying eggs at night at the nearby beach. Thank you for a beautiful holiday! We will come back for sure for a longer stay 😊

We were charged 10 dollars each for vegetarian curry. It was so disappointing. We travelled in Sri lanka for 5 months and stayed in many home stays and never paid more than 1200. And every where we were treated with kindness and hospitality. I won't be back and prefer to give money to people who are not greedy. The only good thing about this place was Baba. A young guy who was very polite and helpful . Location is hard to find and isolated. You will need a scooter.

The room was big, but dark. You may open window shutters but it will become hot as there are no windowpanes. Breakfast was very good. There is a very big and nice swimming pool. I didn't like the location itself as it seems it doesn't offer basically any good dinner options in the close neighbourhood. The hotel offers a dinner option but in my option it is quite expensive, 10USD per person might be too much if you want to eat there every day. In general, very good but in my opinion too expensive for what it offers but it really depends on your wallet

The location was a pleasant surprise because the road leading gives you this notion that it might be a small property surrounded by other residential houses. But, trees seclude the property from one side and the other end borders a small river lined with mangrove trees. It's a very calm and quiet environment. The food was delightful and was prepared by Mr. Gunasekara's family. Everything is organically sourced and you can experience proper Sri Lankan style meals. We had a wonderful time and I recommend to anyone who wishes to have some quiet time and tranquillity to visit Happy Man Village.

It was a very peaceful place equipped with great staff and food. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom is a open space which was very eye catching. Hotel even facilitates a boat ride along the river which is flowing right next to the property.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our holiday in Sri Lanka. It was the perfect ending. Top notch and good value for money. The rooms are wonderful - clean, good quality, spacious and relaxing. The bathrooms are open to the jungle which is fun and not something I’ve seen before. The location was great, five minutes from the railway station/road but peaceful and surrounded by green jungle. Next to a lagoon but fewer mosquitoes here than anywhere else we’ve been. The children loved the large pool and seeing the occasional frog and land monitor. We all loved the boat trip at sunset. We were very well looked after. The owner/host is often around and his family and staff are kind and generous. The food was very good indeed. Generous, like so many places we stayed at, and delicious. As much water as you need for free and a beer fridge working on an honesty system. Highly recommended and well deserving of all the five star reviews.

We are just after a days stay with kids and elderly parents.The hotel suited all of us very well with great service. Lunch was delicious and you must try their fish dishes freshly caught and prepared. Remember to take badminton rackets if you are the sporty kind. BTW Kosgoda beach is pristine and under rated and just 1 minute away

We are very happy we find this place by luck, on our drive from Galle to Negombo as a stop over. The cabana’s are great and the swimming pool is very nice. The family is super friendly and the breakfast is really amazing! We had our own transportation what makes it easier to stay in the little bit remote location. But the local neighborhood and village is lovely and the beach is not far away:-)

Stayed at the hotel for 2 days. Beautiful hotel having about 7 rooms & can accommodate about 20 people. Staff was very polite and willing look after the guests. Food was fantastic. Despite having a all island power blackout the staff was very caring & cooked us tasty dinner without any hassle. Love to visit again.

Great! Far beyond any expectations. Delicious food, quiet place, excellent care, beautiful swimming beach nearby, large pool on yard. Very cosy cabanas. Fair price. Do not miss their catamaran trip to lagoon. Once in Sri Lanka, this is always our No1. Book ahead, they are high ranked.

I loved this place. Happy Man and family were so nice and welcoming. Large and clean houses for the guests, great food with spices from their own garden. The beach nearby is one of the most beautiful and cleanest. We would have liked to stay longer, but had already booked the next hotel. If you want to go from here to Galle, you should definitely take the train from here.

We only stayed here for one night but it was a wonderful stay. Everything was functioning most importantly (it seemed the owner considered most essentials except for the usual tiny soap bars haha). The host was friendly and the place is beautifully designed. The surroundings are peaceful, with the occasional sounds of kids playing in the same village within. The dinner and breakfast provided was a huge spread but we enjoyed it all. The mangrove boat ride was very interesting, we got to see different types of birds and say hi to the locals. A walk around the village was a great experience too, seeing the locals live their daily lives was a treat. Suffice to say, we will be back for a longer stay the next time. Stuti, Sulilatha 😀

This was one of the best hospitality treatments we got from Happy Man Village. Very tasty food cooked and served for us . Surrounding was awesome, very clean , and beautiful scenery too 🙏 Rooms are very clean and pool too well maintained 👍 easy access to Turtle farm and River rides which we enjoyed well . We booked 3 T rooms and we were treated as five star hotel guests 🙏👍 well done owner and his family for managing and maintaining this standard. You made us really happy men and women 🙏👍 Highly recommended place to enjoy your holiday. Need at least 2 nites stay for maximum enjoyment 🙏👍

dont visit this place .. I had been and food was given us at least didnt have salt. Third class menu and not recommend anyone to visit. I still sad on my spend 🤮

Had a superb, memorable vacation here recently. Villa is maintained by a nice family. Food was delicious and you get that nice homemade vibe. The host, Sulalitha gave us an excellent support and flexibility towards adjusting the menu options for our requirements. The swimming pool was very clean and spacious. They have 7 kabanas with open bathrooms, which can accommodate 19pax. The staff was amazingly friendly and they were really committed to provide us the best service that they could offer. Thank you for that hospitality and flexibility.! Highly recommended.!
