We came here twice in our 4-day stay in central Kathmandu, as it was recommended by the people at our hotel a few blocks away. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The first time was after a big lunch, so we got the loaded nachos, which were good. The second night we got Pad Thai and it was excellent. But our favorite thing (besides the beer!) was the warm carrot cake. Yum! There is a covered porch surrounding a courtyard, so the dining is mainly outside.

July 03, 2023: Took my fiancé and his family for my birthday dinner. This was my 2nd time being here to celebrate my birthday this year and last year. Good food. A lot of food choices. Good service. Very attentive. Good atmosphere. Food prices are reasonable. I definitely recommend this place if you are in Thamel, KTM. Side Note: Asked for non-smoking table to be seated if you don't like to smell the smokes from people smoking. I had bad coughing attack when the next table came in and started smoking.

Highly recommend! ✨ Great service, nice ambiance and the food is excellent in it's simplicity. Recommend the spicy Mustang Postatoes, Dal Bhat and mint lemonade.

Restaurant that's popular with tourists, so i tried the Nepalu set meal or Dal Baht. It's a traditional Nepalese dinner with starter, main and a dessert of yoghurt with honey. It was very good food and i was glad i tried it. Staff is friendly, but atmosphere was not something special. Would still fully recommend this restaurant.

This is my third time in this place. first and second time i find the was was okey but after that i tried different dishes and most of them were amazing. they really have good favour, This place will be more perfect if you dont like spicy food in Nepal. They international food more than the local one. so if you miss your international food this can meet your expectation.

A nice restaurant that serves Nepali & western cuisines. It’s good atmosphere to sit outside with fire in the garden during winter time. The food is tasty, especially the bean soup, it is perfect. The place is very reasonable that be compared to other similar level restaurant. Definitely will back again.

Super relaxing atmosphere, great customer service, and great location. The prices weren’t to high compared to similar restaurants in the area. The salad was very tasty, decent portion size, and was exactly what I wanted. The herbal tea was hot, tasty, and warmed me up. I would definitely suggest Gaia Restaurant & Coffee Shoo.

Gaia is a very peaceful and quiet place where one can enjoy individual company with a very comforting garden. I, personally enjoyed the pleasant environment and the delightful dinner, padthai along with the fresh salad that is best known around this area since it is said to be of their own farm at dhulikhel. Honestly, the food here is so good that other food have started to taste bland for me. For alone visit and as well as visiting with friends and family, this place is a very nice spot. I've been here several times before with my friends too and this place never fails to satisfy me.

The chicken satay meal was so delicious, I also got the cold coffee and lemon iced tea. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken satay, it was scrumptious ! Quite pricey tho, definitely aimed at foreigners

One of the best foods I've had in pokahara. I've ordered chicken with rusmarin sause and some roasted vegetables which was very tasty, enough grilled but still fresh. Three of us spent around 3.500. Only thing I don't like is you can't order lunch during breakfast.

Ordered beef steak here and was surprisingly underwhelmed. Not that I was expecting something extraordinarily tasty (although I had heard good things about the steak here), I was expecting something atleast decent. I don't really give bad reviews but this was the most disappointing steak I've had in my life. The meat was so tasteless that I wondered if the meat was beef at all. The sauce was not good as well. I gave up trying to eat it without even finishing half of it. The soup we ordered also felt like it was some instant soup straight out of a packet.

Had visited this restaurant over past few trips. Good ambience with indoor/outdoor seatings. Fire at the courtyard in the winter nights. Not busy at all for dinner in late night and hence service is prompt. Thai red curry isn't spicy but taste fine, so is chicken tikka masaala. Pretty consistent in taste. Quite good breakfast too.

Came back after our initial group lunch because we were really impressed with the food and service. Had the chicken tikka with side salad. Everything was perfect, especially the side salad with the beautiful dressing. Came back for tea and the black coffee was one of the most decent coffee I had in Kathmandu for the last 18 days. Perfect coffee and perfect hummus. Hummus was fragrant and really nice. Came with pita bread which was warm and toasty.

Biggest tourist trap in town. The food is terrible, prices super high. The vegetable sizzler didn't taste roasted but burned only. Even if, it would have been The sadest dish I ever ate. When we left, we saw a cockroach junping off our silverware plate. Yummy!

I had dinner, Thai red chicken curry. It was amazing! I had the apple pie for dessert, also amazing! The service was great and the waiters were great at English. Be aware that tips are expected as there is no service fee at this restaurant. My friends had the Pad Thai none of us fault the food here.

Our experience was quite unpleasant. The atmosphere was super nice but the service was a disaster. We ordered some drinks, a starter (important), and of course our main dishes. The expectation was that the starters would arrive as starters before the main dish, we ordered Mexican nachos. After waiting for a long time we asked the server again if he got our orders for the starters, since our drinks had one been served. He said yes. 20min later our main dishes arrived. We then told him that we longer needed the starter, since the main dish was already served. He argued with us that it would just take some more minutes, but we didn't want to have the starter as an extra to the main dish. The main problem was that they still expected us to pay for the dish that they failed to deliver as a starter and therefore was never served to us. It was on the bill and we had to discuss it with them for a long time. I think that was ridiculous

You might be surprised, but this is actually the best restaurant in Kathmandu. It's quiet and intimate, and set in a beautiful little courtyard off the busy streets. Do try the spicy yak curry. You'll not regret it.

Gaia is a great place to hangout, no matter the season. A great fireplace in the winter makes the ambiance lively, and in summer the garden and terraced deck make summer evenings cool and enjoyable. The staff are always hospitable and polite, and the food quality has been consistent since I started dining here in 2010. I would recommend Gaia as a must visit if you're in Kathmandu.
