One of my friend from Iran got sick at midnight so she went there after I recommend her to go there. When she reached , she had a problem in communication because she could not speak English, so she called me at midnight and I have to go there to visit her at 2:00am. When I reached there and when I asked the guy in the reception about her. He was so rude he didn't respond me properly because they have forcefully addmited her in the hospital to charge lot of money from her insurance company. When I ask about it the guy told who am I and why should I respond you he was really rude. This hospital is scam be awere of them . The main aim of them is to earn money anyhow. Everytime they will force you to get admitted in the hospital, if you are ok also. Most of the tourist goes here for check up , please there are so many hospital which are 200% cheaper and better than this hospital with good doctors.please visit those hospital than this. Please visit other hospitals like Norvic International Hospital and Grande International Hospital they also look for the insurance.

Fishbone stuck in throat, Consult 90 dollars. Overpriced and better to go somewhere else. International hospital charged only 15us for xray + procedure. Don't waste your time here by coming to this place.

I got my hip surgery at CIWEC after an accident and I am very happy that I chose this hospital. I was given proper information and choices for my treatment and the surgical team explained everything to my son in detail. I have fully recovered and my walk is better than before. Thank you Ciwec for always taking care of me.

Amazing experience!! I went there by morning, had to fill some paperwork, and after 15/20 minutes I was already being seen first by a nurse, than by a doctor. They said I had to do an ultrasound, and they booked it for the afternoon of the same day. They also told me that they would need blood and urine samples. After all the testing, the results were given to me 30 minutes later (very fast) and then the same doctor that saw me in the morning explained to me what was happening, and what I needed to do. They also gave me all the medication I needed, so I didn’t have to search for it. Conclusion: very nice, kind and professional staff (doctors, nurses, people from the reception) and very fast and careful assistance. I recommend it

Fantastic experience. I had a tick from visiting southern Nepal that I couldn't easily reach, and also a fever, so I went to this clinic. From the moment I walked in they completely put me at ease, with flawless English, basic paperwork to fill out, a clean waiting room, and no wait. The doctor and nurse were wonderful, and I received excellent care the same as I would expect in my hometown in the US. When I went, it was a $90 USD base fee (if you have travel insurance, in most cases it will cover this). Doctor put me on the meds I needed and gave them to me there- I didn't have to go to a pharmacy, thank goodness. Would recommend to all travelers. Please don't try to tough it out if you really aren't feeling well, as I considered doing- just go.

Better than most hospitals in the valley. Very fast, courteous and professional service. Hospital is clean and sanitary (unlike most hospitals in the city). Would highly recommend for anybody from western countries who find other Hospitals chaotic and unorganized.

Got admitted here on emergency, the doctors and the nurses were super cooperative and attentive to details. They didn't compromise on any issue and didn't let us feel like we are in a different country with our family far away even for a second. Great facilities. They even dropped us at our hotel for our comfort. Really thankful to Dr. Sandeep and his team for all the support.

I spent three nights in CIWEC with pneumomia and was incredibly well cared for. All the staff are professional and caring. I was kept informed of all procedures and the details of my progress. Everything is spotlessly clean. I felt completely safe and in good hands and considerably in just a few hours of admittance. I'm a regular visitor to Nepal and if i ever need medical attention again, I'll only consider CIWEC.

FIRST WORLD HOSPITAL CARE IN KATHMANDU I recently returned home to Australia after being hospitalised in Ciwec Hospital Kathmandu (Ciwec) for three weeks following a trekking mishap. Within five hours of presenting myself at Ciwec I had emergency surgery for a perforated bowel. The surgery was a complete success although I contacted a staph infection which prolonged my Ciwec stay. The medical treatment and care I received was first world standard and as good as I would expect in any hospital in Brisbane Australia. My surgeon Dr (Prof) Mahesh Khakurel was magnificent and the Doctors and Nurses at Ciwec were so very professional, committed and caring. There was not one day where I did not receive at least one visit and health check from a Doctor. A Nurse was essentially on call 24 hours per day. Additionally, Dr (Prof) Khakurel visited and checked on me an estimated 13 times whilst in Ciwec. Ciwec worked closely with my Travel Insurance company NIB Travel Insurance Australia who were also First Class. I highly recommend Ciwec.

I stayed in Ciwec Hospital for one night and I have to admit the place itself is super clean, efficient and professional. Formost I want to thank the staff! The doctors and nurses have made my stay wonderful and so homey. They have so much care and empathy I have not seen in many medical institutions. I also had problems with my insurance and the hospital assisted phenomenally. Hence, with any medical issue in Kathmandu or surroundings I highly recommend Ciwec hospital - you´ll be taken care of greatly! Thank you so much Ciwec team!!! ps. and the food is yummy!

I easily booked an appointment at the clinic via the website. All employees speak perfect English! You will be welcomed warmly and understandingly. The doctors who treated me listened to me, took me seriously and examined me VERY carefully. I felt like I was in a European hospital. All medical results were evaluated within 30 minutes. All the doctors I needed were summoned to the clinic within a very short time, DESPITE it being a holiday. Thank you for this great and professional help!

I spent 12 days here recovering from extensive pneumonia and influenza after cutting short my two-week mountain trek, and feel very fortunate to have found such a good facility and staff. Everything was professional from beginning to end, and I had confidence throughout that I was getting the care I needed. The staff were really caring, attentive, compassionate, and communicative; I really couldn’t ask for more!

The whole staff (nurses, doctors, admin) at Ciwec were incredibly kind and supportive during my stay at the hospital. I was admitted after midnight with unusual symptoms, yet they took great care and time to ensure they found the diagnosis and helped address the issues. I felt very lucky to have such expertise and dedicated people at my side to work through recovery and would recommend the location to any other travelers facing health scares while in Kathmandu. They will help the experience be smooth and work through various insurance hiccups as well! 💜

I had a totally unexpected arrhythmia the night before a big remote trek, I had to bite the bullet and seek an ECG when it didn't stop. I arrived at CIWEC about 1:30 am, they had me hooked up and checked and also were very reassuring my given the emotional disruption I was coming to grips with. I couldn't have asked for better specialist, nursing and administrative care and competence, as well helping me handle the the barrage of insurance admin and trekking team communications. Although I made a quick recovery they were suitably cautious about ongoing monitoring for 24h and reminded me that my health was more important and the mountains weren't going away. I was shattered but the reminders helped. So if you happen to get sick and worry what might happen the CIWEC staff are as good or better than you will find anywhere. Better than a multi storey hospital with risk of potentially infectious disease. My respect and best wishes, flowers arriving soon! Dr Matt from Australia.

100 out of 10 stars! Every doctor, nurse, admin member, insurance staff and housekeeper gave my wife exceptional care. We are from the USA and this is by far the best place to go for any needs in Kathmandu. Thank you CIWEC!!!!

After traveling from the US to Nepal I drank some bad water in the Delhi airport. I had a fever for several days and other symptoms began. I checked into CIWEC hospital and had a fantastic experience. As someone who had never been in a hospital in their life and is also terrified of needles the staff were so kind, and so patient the entire time. They never made me feel silly and always met me with kindness. The entire staff across different “departments” (X-ray, blood work, urine samples, abdominal ultrasound etc) worked as a team to diagnose and solve the problem. The communication channels between all of these medical professionals was easier to access than what I’ve witnessed with family members back home in the US. On a logistical standpoint, I do not speak Nepalese so I was incredibly grateful that every person there spoke great English. There was never a doubt of what was happening due to a language barrier. I hope that no one finds themselves in a similar situation. However, if you do, CIWEC made me feel so comfortable and safe during my 2 overnights there. Highly recommend their amazing staff and services.

Just another foreigner here to say I got great care here. The doctor was so kind and thorough. The nurses were so sweet as well. I don't speak Nepali, but I was able to communicate perfectly with everyone I interacted with in English. If you're shopping around for a hospital in Kathmandu, this is the place. I almost went to another hospital that was recommended to me, until I read a New York Times article about how they're running a scam (Swacon). If you decide to get care elsewhere, just make sure you do some digging first.

I was brought down from altitude with mountain sickness. Treatment I received was prompt, courteous & appropriate. I was discharged to my hotel. When I got there I realised what I thought was a minor leg injury was more significant. I returned to the hospital & was again seen promptly. A torn Achilles tendon was diagnosed. I was seen by an orthopaedic surgeon and placed in a back slab for my flight to UK. Again Treatment was speedy and appropriate. I was emailed my clinical summaries that evening. Concise and informative All staff were caring and professional.

As someone who has experienced the challenges of navigating Nepal's public and other private hospitals, I cannot recommend the CIWEC Hospital and Travel Medicine facility more highly. One of the most striking aspects of CIWEC Hospital is the competence and expertise of their medical staff. The doctors and nurses are not only experienced and well qualified but also speak excellent English. For me, this is essential for foreigners, as communication can often be a barrier in unfamiliar healthcare systems. The medical professionals at CIWEC are able to understand their traveling patient's concerns and provide clear explanations and treatment options.. The reception staff at CIWEC also deserve special mention. They are not only fluent in English but also incredibly organized, helpful, and friendly. Their efficiency and professionalism makes the entire process much smoother and less stressful. In terms of facilities, CIWEC Hospital is equipped with modern and reliable diagnostic and treatment equipment. This is a significant advantage, especially considering the concerns about cleanliness and equipment in some other hospitals in Nepal. The hospital's commitment to maintaining high standards is evident, and it instills a sense of trust and confidence in the quality of care provided. While it's true that CIWEC Hospital may be more expensive than general Nepali hospitals, the peace of mind it offers is well worth the cost. Traveling to a foreign country can be daunting, and knowing that there is a reliable healthcare facility available can be a tremendous relief. Additionally, it's important to note that many travel insurance policies cover treatment at CIWEC, further alleviating any financial concerns.

When I decided to go to Nepal, as I’ve got a auto-immune illness, I had to have contact with an hospital to store my medicine. I contacted Ciwec Hospital and there were amazingly helpful. They were concerned about my difficulty and made things very simple for me. Hopefully I had no problem in Nepal, but I highly recommend them, thanks to their kindness.

Bad experience with physio therapy. looked nice in beginning but it was all about finishing first 20 session given from insurance company as if there is rush to finish it. you hardly spent more than 15 min in physio Therapy session. 100 dollars for 15 min physio which is quite costly in Western standard also. but the most important thing is it wasnt quite effective and not cured. myself and my family are visiting ciwec for quite long time. Everthing is so good there except this physio. may be me and my wife were unlucky not to be cured but the therapist didn't put his hard work also. ciwec is a very good clinic. we had good experience there. I thank 🙏🙏 you for that also. Just sharing that we didn't like.

I, from time to time, have been using CIWEC CLINIC/HOSPITAL, for a very, very long time! I'm a former expat, current citizen of Nepal. CIWEC Is best known for its travel services, but it is also a wonderful small Hospital with an experienced staff of General Practitioners, many of who have additional training in Emergency Services. I have recently had the occasion to use the inpatient facilities of the Hospital and its medical staff. I returned from touring in Europe with a badly infected leg. The GP quickly recognized the problem, did a full blood exam in their own on sight lab, identified the bacteria and determined which antibiotic was the best, treated the wound, which had become very large, and checked me in. I have been in several hospitals, in my life, but I have never found one with the excellence of the skills, as well as the attitude of the RNs and other staff members! I will not be going to any other medical facility, in Nepal again. CIWEC is the very best in my opinion. Thank you all for your wonderful care!

My experience at this hospital could not have been better. I was able to book an appt to be seen less than an hr later and everyone from the receptionist Shahida to the GP Dr. Rashila Pradhan and then the Ortho surgeon Dr Deepak Mahara and the physiotherapist Dr Prayoush Newpane were kind, supremely competent, knowledgeable and just wonderful. I felt safe and well taken care of. Now just hoping my insurance will reimburse me.

This place is great for foreigners seeking medical treatment while in Nepal. I am American and was helicopter evacuated off the EBC trek due to passing out on the trail and some stomach issues. After visiting the Lukla hospital which did not inspire trust in my wellbeing and health, I was so grateful to receive care at this hospital upon arriving back to Kathmandu. The doctors and nurses at this place are top notch in kindness and professionalism, speak great English, and helped take care of me and ensure I had a full recovery from my trekking healthcare woes. This was by far the cleanest building I have been in and Nepal and perhaps the most modern- and the care I received was top notch. Thank you to Dr. Samrat and the team at CIWEC for helping me recover and regain my health.

I wrecked my knee on a severe fall on ice during the decent off Throng La Pass. My knee was swollen and in pain and the trek over. In Pokhara, Dr Sandeep and team were terrific. They evaluated my knee, fitted me with a brace and prescribed the RICE treatment. I appreciated their timely medical write-up that was acceptable by my travel insurance interruption claim. Thanks CIWEC team for your efficient & professional care!

Hi, It definitely can get very stressful when an individual is up in the mountains and get into some bad injury and then get evacuated into a hospital and being treated in a foreign country. I was in CIWEK Katmandu for about 6 days and I felt very well cared for from the time I was picked up from airport until I was dropped back to the airport. The doctors and nurses are very professional and the doctors kept me informed on every step of the treatment. everything was well documented as well. also the atmosphere is very clean and pleasant. Thank you guys.
