I really like the ambience of this place and the service as well. The staffs are friendly, the food is good. They serve vegetarians dishes and also buffet on some days of the week at a great price. It's also a good spot for gathering and just chill. I recommend you try it atleast once!

The food was good and reasonably priced. Service was quick despite the place being almost full. Only thing that felt a bit off was bugs flying around, i'm sure which wouldn't have happened if we had taken a table farther from the trees. Overall a good experience.

Excellent place, Utpala is a large vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Boudha. Good menu and high-quality food, dishes presented with a creative flair. The design of the place is interesting and pleasant. I had the veg tofu burger and the paneer tikka. Both were delicious with the paneer Tikka standing out.

It’s the best place for work ,business meetings, reading the books . As a book reader myself I found this place comfy and as well as their food was amazing. They also have some books which I think you can read.I had dopio, jhol momo, and a chips chlli every thing was perfect and the price are affordable too.But I think they are short staffed so it will take a while to take your order

Its good Caffee, but to be honest i dont like the test of food, it was just normal test. But good place to visit with your friends and family. Outside you can buy various Nepal made and Local made products, Big support for Local market, we bought Ghee, Cheese Chocolete etc. Must visit at least one. And by the way they served vegetable breakfast so if you are vegeterian and dont know where to go than this is the place. The price range is very good actually

Utpala Cafe offers a delightful dining experience in the heart of Boudha. With its serene ambiance, friendly service, and a focus on vegetarian and vegan cuisine, it appeals to those seeking a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. While the menu options could be expanded, the quality of food and attention to detail make Utpala Cafe a worthwhile visit for those looking to enjoy a comforting meal or a leisurely cup of tea in a charming setting.

Very nice vegan restaurant in the city. I would say it is 5 star rated restaurant I have ever been into in Nepal. Their menu are awesome and service staffs are friendly with good customs. Best outdoor sitting arrangement for family as well. Newly established guest house is also located next to the restaurant which is good and convinient for bagpackers and visitors

Amazing ambience. Both indoor and outdoor seatings. And a big parking space. This place is veg. I only had a ice tea and cake, loved it. The other menu looks promising. The place was filled on a weekday afternoon and the waiters did keep me waiting. But definitely a good place to hang out or even bring your work while you enjoy the fresh air and good food!

Beautiful place with outdoor seating, friendly service and excellent choices of vegetarian food. I tried chilly momos, the spinach paneer and a green lemonade. The momos were rich and tasty, not too spicy, the paneer was creamy and complimented the spicy dish very well. The lemonade was refreshing and delicious. Absolutely a place I'll visit again!

Excellent place to dine in a vibe of a spiritual environment. Its a pure veggie cafe with the varieties of delicious food prepared by class chefs. Taste, service and top of all; quality and price are absolutely up to the mark! Try their buffet lunch/dinner package, even though you are non-veg, you won't regret!!

Very nice place. Great food. Great interior. —- Want to update my review after few more times with some comments, since not everything was good. First of all beetroot soup. It’s one of the smallest soup bowl I’ve ever get anywhere and it’s just a tiny bowl of soup, w/o even slice of bread. Taste is good but still it is not a soup which you’re probably waiting for. Second fail was with smoothie bowl. It again not a bowl but a very tiny cup, maybe 2 times less than a smoothie “bowl” you can get in another place, and in average at least 3 times less what you get in Thailand usually, with below average taste and consistency. Will I order it again? Nope. Burger and sandwiches comes with fries ? Yea, if 5-6 slices is what you call with fries. Add some normal portion as a side dish for some extra rupee, but this amount is just ridiculous. Potato burger also too dry, this is the main mistake in vegan burgers, it has to be juicy, in a regular burger it makes the meat, so add more vegetables and sauces to a vegan one - it will be great. Who tried good vegan burgers will understand what I mean.

This is my favorite place in the city for years. The outdoor sitting with garden, trees and delicious vegetarian food with drinks! This is a perfect place to spend hours working, reading, relaxing. It's very peaceful, slow placed & relaxing. My only recommendation is I have attended Buffet multiple times but I feel really bad seeing some people Throwing Huge amount of food. So, Is it possible to but some warm notes with quotes both in nepali and English language encouraging people to not waste food and take smaller portions at first to taste and add more if they can finish? Let's try to minimize food waste together and encourage people to respect food. 🙏 Thank you again Utpala Cafe for great service, ambiance, food

The hospitality and the ambiance is kinda good, however, the food feels pretty basic. The price in the menu is inclusive of VAT so that's good. If you want to chill in a quiet place, this place is it.

Went to Utpala for the first on 27th December time to try Vegan dishes. Unfortunately, the Vegetable stuffed Naan was not Vegan though we mentioned multiple times that we needed q Vegan option. The vegetable stuffing had Paneer (a dairy product). Being vegan, we were very disheartened to get served non-vegan food when we mentioned multiple times to exclude dairy products while ordering the Thakali set and Vegetable stuffed Naan. We were shocked to witness a Cafe promoting Vegan foods that didn't know the true meaning of Vegan.😭 It was a very sad experience when even the menu mentioned that the food could be customised for a Vegan and a Veg option. I would appreciate it if the Utpala team could orient staff about vegan foods if anyone is unknown about them. I hope the Thakali Khana set and the Mango cake that was served to us were Vegan 😭 I appreciate the team's apology but, it's really sad to see the cafe having Vegan dishes on the menu serving Non-vegan food upon ordering Vegan food 😭. However, we truly appreciate for being extremely careful on the other days. Thank you!

One of my favorite place to eat in Kathmandu, the food is good, the ambience is good and the pricing is not so high compared to some others in Kathmandu. As being a vegetarian I get confused with the eggless food and the one with egss but the servers helps me always also they have a updated vegan menu now to solve those confusions.

If there would be any ratings less than one star I'd have gave you that.. Firstly, we were only two people (my brother and me) so didnt wanted to occupy bigger table so we were searching for two seated table and non of the staffs seemed interested to help although they were looking at us, when we finally seated down and even ordered the food they didn't asked for water , not even once... All these might sound like I am asking for too much privilege but it's the basic hospitality you can provide to your guest... Coming to the food and drink, worst latte I've ever had with disastrous art.. dark chocolate bowl tasted more like yogurt and peanut butter, non of the servers returned to our table to ask how was the food.. nothing like the hype on social media... Hope you improve in future but I ain't coming back to your place ever again..

Ambiance was good. Food was very average to taste. Momo was bland with little salt. Chowmein was also bland with less sauce. Would like to try their buffet once. Outdoor seating has only one fire place which is to only one chair, though they have heaters available.

Good ambiance. The prices are also quite good. The food was decent. The falafel sandwich was a surprise and the bruschetta was good. However, the cheesy fries weren't what I expected. And i could tell were microwaved. But, a great place indeed. Will visit again.

Overrated place. We searched this place via Google Map. Went there on Saturday. On the day, this place only served Buffets and you can order drinks as Ala-Carte only. We had to call someone to ask how can we order the food after waiting for a while. Ambience is good. However, you may not find the place you may have imagined interest of food service and staff. Even staff did not care

Has a wide range of vegan delicacies with vegetarian’s haven. Coffee and pastries are the highlight of this place. Serves weekend buffet meals at super amazing prices. Firstly The value for money is fine but quality of food is pretty mixed. The afgani and chat momos were awesome. The stir fried noodle and spicy potato fries were also tasty. However disappointed by the burgers. The size of the potato croquet were too giant and soggy overshadowing whole burger. Would like to request reconsider the size and crispiness of it. The lasagna was below par and bland. The deserts and pastry needs lot of improvement. Secondly the service staffs seemed lacking the product knowledge and attentiveness. We had to repeatedly ask for the hot water and couldn’t get it which can be easily served through the coffee bar in case of emergency. Despite having almost all young generation of staff on service floor sorry to say they lack energetic and smooth flow of operation. Hope to see more attentiveness and enthusiastic service to the customers.
