I had went to Bodhi Books and Bakes today after a really long time, hadn’t actually visited the new shifted branch. But today I had one very bad experience here, I have seen a lot of places in Kathmandu having the policy of no outside food and beverages but all the other places allow birthday cakes, when we politely asked the staff he said if you paid 500rs we will let you cut the cake and lager when I spoke to the manager she said if you make a bill of 5000 then we will allow. Thats well absurd if you don’t allow then you not allow at all but putting a price tag for cutting a birthday cake is not justifiable. And the manager over there had a very bad attitude, personally in hospitality business someone having that much attitude well good-luck for her. Personally for a birthday cake I havent seen any other places do so. And guess what we went to other place and ended up making that much bill…. If the staff and the manager had communicated the same thing maybe we would have complied but this attitude… well goodluck for your future endevours😇

It was good when it was at narayangopal chowk. There are lots of books but not a suitable environment to read books as it is pretty noisy. I also found the pricing very hefty. I liked how minimalistic and book reading friendly it was before but now it's just normal cafe but with extra charges. I expected it to be a bit book themed Cafe.

An open book cafe with comfortable seating and great ambience! It is slightly in the lanes and that's why attracts reader and decent crowd. It's a great place to study, work or even chill! They have a decent menu and a good collection of books. They charge some extra amount. Must visit if you love reading books in a peaceful environment.

The heaven for readers , with wide variety of books all over the place. Such a pleasant ambience. A very warm place in such a cold winter. They should probably get a 5/5 , but was dissatisfied with the food. Hot chocolate was not to the point and pizza was too greasy and soft. It lacked certain flavor. To the inflated price adding another 23 percent on vat and SC , value of money gets just more funny. Coffee was great , service was not top notch. Still , going there with my books to explore this lovely place a more.

Go here if you want to have * nice surroundings! * good food (as well as local as others) * staff that gives you home-feelings! An absolutely GO when you’re in Kathmandu and you’re a food- and booklover.

A comfortable place to go, read, eat and drink. lot of options for vegetarians too comparatively. Among all the warm drinks, i found creamy milk coffee to be the best in the menu. It tastes warm homely and very soothing kinda coffee. I found the menu better than the last time and the staff are nice too🎉

𝐀 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬— 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫? ☺️ We recently had the pleasure of spending an evening with colleagues who feel more like friends, and I must say, it was an experience worth every moment. Isn't it remarkable how, in the company of true friends, we can openly share our thoughts, discuss our confusions, and cherish the best memories from everyone's unique perspectives? It's these heart-to-heart conversations that make friendships like ours so special. 💬❤️ As we laughed, reminisced, and learned from each other, I was reminded of the profound importance of these connections. They enrich our lives and offer us valuable insights we might otherwise miss. 🤝 So, now it's your turn: When was the last time you had a meaningful conversation with your colleagues or friends at this place? What did you learn from each other? Feel free to share your experiences; I'd love to hear them! Image Description: Here are three different teas and a book placed on the table, with a book that reads, "Wake Up, Ali... Wake Up Now, a South Asian diasporic story by a Nepali author Sumit Sharma!"

A cosy place not too far away from Bhatbhateni. I'm glad they shifted to this location since the previous one was very far away. The food I had was quite good. Definitely some really good loaded nachos. Although I would prefer they use cheese sauce instead of cheese. All in all a good place to visit on a date or a small group of friends. Parking for bikes and cars is available.

Placed on commercial/office area of the city it is common area for having a lunch meeting. The aesthetic is very welcoming and cozy. With different seating area for some alone time, a date or large group. There is no need for reservation. The menu has variety of bakery items, hot/cold beverage and breakfast/lunch items. Specials for the day are presented. There is a small library. I enjoyed their hot chocolate while getting myself indulged in my own work which was helped by the background music played there. The staff there were very helpful and friendly. The tables were clean. Even though the price of the menu would be quite high for some. But I would be willing to visit again to try their other items.

Whether you want to spend some time alone or with someone, it can be your go-to location. a wonderful place for book lovers. I like the ambience here. Every mouthful of the full breakfast was delicious. The smoothie with blueberries wasn't very great. If you have enough budget, I highly recommend visiting this place !

Comfy environment but as it is just next to the main road so it is a bit dusty. Plenty of books for customers to read. Very nice coffee and food. Cakes are nice, their American breakfast is the best among the area, pasta and sandwiches are fair.

One of the best coffee places in the town! Food selection is great. They have a different flavor which is weirdly delicious. Pizzas are criminally underrated. The culture is also a big contributing factor. Not charging for water, complimentary cookie, unbothered environment, placement of sanitizers, indoor plants which are again well managed has no mosquitoes. Ambience is very cozy, calming. Get your coffee. Take your book/ laptop and you are unbothered for hours. Its a go to place for me. For me its a solid 4/5. Took 1 down for the prices which are a little on the higher side

Good ambience and cozy place to read. The food is pricier but if you're not that hungry, it's a very nice place to grab a coffee and bother yourself with books.

Bodhi Books and Bakes is a charming and cozy spot that is perfect for book lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike. As soon as you enter the space, you're greeted with shelves upon shelves of books, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that's perfect for settling in with a good read. The cafe itself is small but charming, with a great selection of coffee and tea options to choose from. Good place, feels warm & welcoming, foods and drinks seemed expensive along with service charge and vat and makes you feel like you're not really living in a third world country with affordable places to go, but hey, where else can you read stuff and just sit around with good coffee; pictures below of 18 inch pizzas from there.

Huge collection of books and novels, highly recommended breakfast where they serve very fluffy pancake 🥞 in moderate price. My favorite thing about Bodhi is their crockery and glassware for the coffee and breakfast. Smoking zone and toilets are very, and I request visitors not make any mess inside the property since its janitor is an old lady. It was my first time and I'll definitely come back again.

A hidden gem in ktm for book lovers who want to read...u can come with your book or choose from the collection they have and order coffee or other food items as well....warm and cozy place.... But found the place to be some kind of dating spot for some teenagers....come on!!!! Here are people who want to have pleasant time off from their hectic schedules and rough day or so on..... But love the place.....food they prepare is kind of common but taste better..... Esp in winter the place is relaxing to book lovers who could enjoy their books with warm coffee and have sun fun through the glass windows that saves from the ring road dusts!!! Loved the place...could be a sacred place for refreshing along or with a fren or a book.

good coffee (almond milk latte), an interesting dessert (carrot cake), enough books to spend several hours in the cafe. 23% tax and tips are included in the check. for dessert and coffee I gave 750 rupees

Books and bakes…what else do you need? But then only had breakfast but not the bakes. Love the energy here. Definitely one of the places I will re-visit.

The place is so good and serene! You can grab a book here, sit here for hours and never get bored! But i would def like to suggest something! I think in the menu, some nepali dishes should also be added! Most of them are foreign dishes! And if it's possible, i think pastries should be also put in the menu as it would be good as a dessert! Nevertheless, the place is lil bit too expensive!

Every time I set foot into this cafe and order something new from the menu, I genuinely wonder how an ordinary cafe in Kathmandu can have such fine cuisine! This cafe feel so homely and relaxing, and the food is divine. Compared to other cafes in Kathmandu, the price of food and drinks are also very reasonable. You will not find a better cafe in Kathmandu. I love it so much that it’s the one place I’ve visited repeatedly in Kathmandu whilst staying here on my vacation.

Place was clean and cozy and the staff were friendly. However, the wait time was long for breakfast. They also did not give coffee/tea option on the breakfast set, which was disappointing. I only had breakfast, which I felt was just fine and somewhat expensive as items were unsatisfying. Updates: Not breakfast, but when for a pizza this time. Pizza is fantastic. Unlike breakfast, i feel that pizza was worth it. The ambiance, like before, was great.

🫤 Average food for high price. Place was heavily crowded with people waiting for sitting spaces. Staff have poor hospitality once you are seated. No one asked us for anything until we called the staff for the order. Staff expected us to leave assoon we were done eating. Not worth your pay.

👍 Visited this place for the first time and the hype was real. It has it's own charm. Foods are well presented and tasted good. We had BBQ pork and Tofu for starters which was really good. 😠 Foods are not worth according to the price. The price is pretty expensive, even more than a luxury tourist restaurant around Thamel. The naan was okay but definitely not according to the price.
