This
is
an
excellent
place
to
try
some
Nepali
brews
that
aren't
boring
rice-laden
lagers.
The
best
beer
in
my
opinion
is
the
kolsch,
which
has
a
subtle
but
juicy
bite.
The
IPA
comes
next,
with
well-balanced
bitterness
and
some
fruity
esters.
The
Himalaya
Red
is
decent
but
has
a
strangely
earthy
quality
that
I
found
unpleasant
-
though
it's
a
clear
favourite
with
locals,
so
it
all
comes
down
to
individual
taste.
The
beers
are
generally
flat,
which
as
a
British
ale
drinker
suits
me
perfectly,
though
you
may
have
other
preferences.
The
bar
is
on
a
fairly
busy
road
and
doesn't
have
any
particularly
interesting
views.
It's
small,
simple
and
clean,
with
hard
backless
stools
that
become
uncomfortable
to
a
Western
backside
after
a
while.
The
aesthetic
is
also
clean,
with
lots
of
wood
used
in
the
surfaces.
The
bar
snacks
are
simple
and
limited
but
tasty.
The
music
when
I
visited
was
entirely
electric
blues,
which
suits
me
well
but
which
could
become
tedious
after
a
while.
A
little
variety
would
be
a
good
thing.
At
any
rate,
the
music
wasn't
too
loud,
which
is
a
blessing
in
a
noisy
city.
In
a
Western
city
I
would
rate
Nepal
Micropub
lower
for
its
simplicity
and
lack
of
choice,
but
given
what
the
management
are
trying
to
do
in
a
difficult
economic
environment
and
an
undiscerning
binge-drinking
culture,
I
can
only
applaud
what
they
have
achieved
and
give
them
five
well-deserved
stars.
