Few meters below from Swoyambhunath. People target to throw coins in the pot which is below the statue located in middle of the pond.

The place has a lot of tourist and locals. We went around 1-2PM. It was quite a hot afternoon to roam around but still we enjoy the place. We exchange our money to coins and throw it on the pond. It was a good experience.

The World Peace Pond stands at the base of the stairs climbing up to Swayambhunath stupa, and climbing up to Swayambhunath is why tourists go there. The pond by itself has not much to see. The place is shaded by trees and has a small stupa there. You do see some part of Kathmandu valley as well from there. People throw coins in the pond trying to throw them into the pot kept at the base of the statue in the middle of the pond, so you will find a few vendors there who exchange bigger notes for coins.

👍👍 Free entry! Has fishes in it. (Fishing not allowed) At a walking distance from Naraynhiti Palace Museum. It is a historic pond at the centre of Kathmandu. A good place to sit and spend your day.
