Easily
one
of
the
best
meals
we’ve
had
in
Nepal,
and
the
owner
and
his
family
were
so
welcoming.
We
had
a
lovely
calm
seating
area
all
to
ourselves.
The
range
of
Newari
food
is
impressive,
and
we
particularly
liked
that
they
tend
to
focus
on
Newari
specialities
instead
of
an
expanded
general
menu.
The
food
was
delicious,
we
started
with
the
buffalo
baji
set
which
came
with
aalu
tama
(a
spicy
soup
with
bamboo
shoots).
The
beaten
rice
was
a
perfect
accompaniment
to
each
of
the
varied
side
dishes,
it
would
be
hard
to
pick
a
favourite
from
the
4
varied
sides.
After
that
we
had
the
egg
&
meat
chatamari,
described
as
a
Newari
pizza
-
more
for
the
shape
than
the
taste
though.
It
was
very
delicious,
and
I
think
the
buffalo
meat
adds
a
lot
of
depth
to
the
flavour
of
it.
Finally
we
had
some
khowa
yomari,
a
steamed
dumpling
with
a
mildly
sweet
dairy
filling.
They
were
a
perfect
way
to
finish
off
the
meal
with
some
milk
tea.
The
owner
was
very
helpful
throughout
and
explained
some
of
the
history
of
the
restaurant.
We’d
love
to
come
back
some
day
