We tried to go here last year but they were close. One year after, we were able to make it here and it did not disappoint. The food is hearty and yummy. The price is reasonable and the portion is big. The staff were nice and accomodating. We had a little mishap with the food and they took care of it and handled the situation very well. Highly recommended when you are in Katowice. Oh and the pancake is a must 🤤

The signature soup "żur" was tasteless and artificially thick. The main dish was much better "racuchy", a kind of pancakes with sugar served with fruit. The problem was the peaches were tinned and the apples were from some jar...in September when so much fresh fruit is available everywhere. It's pricey but the location is very nice and traditional, as if you moved back to the 70s. The young people serving food were wonderful.

As we sat down, we were quite surprised by the uncomfortable chairs, however the place itself was not bad at all. As first we ordered Zur, traditional polish food - soup. It tasted good, however there was nothing really special about it. Then we ordered from main course - meals were not very tasty, but as we were hungry - we ate it. On the table were salt and pepper, which of course we used - it got better after it. Beer - IPA was real bitterness, we expected more fruity appeal, but still OK - from the glass bottle. Ended up really full. Price 130 zl. Thanks to kind service and new experience!

Original, Silesian cuisine, but prepared in a different than traditional way. Absolutely worth trying Kulebele. Professional, kind, fast service are additional pluses!

If you are ever in Katowice, please go here. I fell in love with Polish food and would recommend this place to anyone. Warm environment, excellent service, and absolutely delicious food selection.

Good restaurant, good prices, good quantity of food. I ate the meat dumplings and they had a nice flavour, the dough was pleasantly thick, the texture was interesting. Waited about 45 minutes for a table. Probably would come back again. Don't recommend the black pudding thing, not worth it. Tried it from a friend.

First rate restaurant. Thankfully quiet, but became busy later on ( I arrived about 1pm on a Monday). The soup (mushroom and potato) was superb. The potato dish (in lieu of my first choice which was unavailable) wasexcellent - I ordered onions, mushrooms and bacon with it. The pancakes so might, fluffy, but with crunchy edges - perfect. The compot was fruity and not too sweet. The waitress spoke English as well as Polish and was helpful, friendly and attentive. I would definitely return.

Had some great kluski śląskie here. Enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the place, and the service was courteous and attentive. Recommended for really well made Polish traditional dishes.

Excellent food, nice hidden gem for someone wanting to taste the regional cuisine! They offer takeout which is even better. The service was nice and open to answer any questions.

Excellent Silesian food, with imagination. Reasonable price. Only problem: no English menu. And no pictures. And Google Translate won't help as the menu is written in Silesian. The waitress did speak English, so hopefully you will not have language meltdown. Anyway, highly recommend, even if you would need to order blind. All food we got (4p) was excellent.

Loved the taste - real authentic polish food. Very polite staff. Would definitely recommend the Žur soup. It had rich flavour and good meat inside.

Żurownia in Katowice offered an unforgettable culinary experience. The standout was their traditional żurek soup. It was exquisitely prepared and so delicious, I barely had time to take a picture before it was all gone! A definite must-try for any foodie out there.

A bit strange view of local food. Some things are great, other are disappointing. Burger looking piece of dry meat in some kind sauce was tasteless. Soup was great.

Excelent żur soup and an excellent Silesian maczanka. The beer is algo great. Soup+main dish+2 small beers for around 20€ Very recommended if you want to try polish or Silesian food.

What a fantastic place to eat, traditional and silesia local food, portions were massive and the service was quick 😋 check out the photo 📸 I've ordered the kulebule which are dumplings with pulled beef and cabbage on side and the braty which are basically potatoes with additional ingredients of bacon and onions

During four days I was in Katowice I went to eat here twice, amazing polish food, accurate price. Loved kulebele!

Had the dumplings. Very good home style cooking polish restaurant. I suggest 1 dumpling for lighter eaters. This was a bit much. A very good meal. The soup was fresh, hot. Could use a bread and butter though. Service was decent too. Busy place at night. We visit till 8:40 pm.

The place is pretty popular, there was a queue for ca. 10 minutes, when we arrived for lunch (when leaving, the queue was longer…). There is no wonder so many people visit this restaurant. Very nice interior, industrial climate fitting to Silesia, fantastic staff taking care for customers (really great to see young people working in very organized way with smile on faces), affordable prices and last but not least real Silesian cuisine. Food is stuffy, so watch out not to order to much. Soups are delicious, try also Braty (fried patatos with Polish becon, champignons, onion and cheese). We were a bit disappointed with vege Kulebele (Silesian patato dumpling stuffed with vegetables) and with dumplings with duck stiffing - not our taste.

The restaurant is really good and well maintained. They chairs and tables looks old school but it gives some Silesian mining vibe. If you're looking to eat some local food, it's really recommended. Be careful, you may have to wait for a long time. The waiters are really friendly and explained about the food. The food sizes are very big and not that expensive. 💯

Had a lovely meal here today great friendly service Huge portions maybe a bit to big started with soup which was tasty but very filling mains had a stew but once again very filling. Impossible to have a dessert as well. Great beers and wines what’s not to like. By the way they don’t have a English menu. Enjoy

Excellent food, I just couldn't stop eating. It was full, but still didn't have to wait for the food too long. Polite staff and affordable prices. I'm definitely coming back!

Very nice place, very nice location, very cheap food. We don't speak polish,so they gave us the english menu. It is a short menu, but you can actually personalize almost every dish. And everything is delicious!

Communist era decor and hearty local dishes makes a good combination. Inexpensive, generous portions and friendly service.
