The doctor and most staff were friendly and offered some good tips. But I had to wait for 30 min after arriving so being on time was a bit pointless. Most of all, there was one female dental hygienist who kept talking to me in タメ語 in Japanese, which moved closer towards rudeness and condescension at the end of the session. Her intention doesn’t matter as I’m sure she’d never speak to Japanese patients in this way, like talking to a little child. I wanted to point this out to her directly but she never came back to my room after blurting out something that I found extremely rude and condescending. She has to be aware that she’s dealing with adult patients, Japanese or not. No one should talk down to others just because s/he thinks they wouldn’t be able to tell the subtle difference in languages, which I did. Some people just prefer speaking in a certain language, whether they’re also fluent in other languages or not. What I found very uncomfortable was her assuming that I wouldn’t know the difference and freely talking to me in that way, thinking that it’s fine - when it absolutely is not. I guess the place advertises its English-speaking services and therefore foreigners in Tokyo pay a visit, including myself. I hope there’s training on staff so that non-Japanese patients don’t feel discriminated here in any way.

I had a perfect experience at the Tokyo International Dental Clinic. The staff and dentist were very professional and provided me with excellent service. They confirmed my previous root canal diagnosis and treated me thoroughly over several appointments until they were satisfied there was no more infection. They explained everything to me in perfect English, including possible consequences based on what they discovered. It has been several months since they did my root canal, and I am happy to say that everything is still going well. I highly recommend the Tokyo International Dental Clinic to anyone in need of dental care in Tokyo.

The dentists and their staff are all friendly and meticulous in their procedures. I admire them for their efforts in addressing my problematic tooth while helping me improve my oral hygiene habits. The dentists speak in English so they could understand the documents that I brought from the Philippines. Since I am a foreigner in Japan, it has eased my anxiety about getting medical assistance in a country with a different language.

The dentists are very accommodating and thorough with their service. They also explain well the processes and the future processes that still need to be done. Most speak English well while the others try their best. Highly recommended.

I had intense tooth pain a few years ago. I went in for an emergency root canal. They are a good clinic for pain, however, this clinic went downhill quickly when they began to change their policies without notification. They claimed I needed two root canals when only one tooth was hurting. Instead of extracting it the first time I asked, they insisted on paying ¥30000 for a basic silver crown. I have never had any work done on my teeth, so I thought this was normal. According to others who live here, it is not. Furthermore, the filling they put in cracked, they then put the crown on a tooth they knew was fractured. Finally it was extracted when I absolutely insisted, when common practice for fractured teeth is to always extract. They told me they could not accept cash, and only accept credit card and pay pay, when asked why, they said they could accept the once but to come back next time with credit card or pay pay, when I explained that was difficult for me, the doctor came out to tell me it was just how the system was. Calling a month later, the receptionist informed me that they do accept cash. There is not good communication happening between the receptionist and doctors because she also said she didn’t have any idea what was going on with my impressions according to the doctor. I paid for top and bottom imprints for dentures, and now they refuse to send them to my new clinic. I offered to pay for the denture they already had made, only to be told they actually didn’t have it, and also don’t have the impressions, even though I paid for them. I had an appointment made for the denture, so either they didn’t have it at all, or someone is misinformed. I am willing to pay, but I do not want to go to someone who just does not know how to properly handle these kinds of situations. I am very disappointed.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! If I could add more stars ⭐️ to the 5 stars, I would do this. Simply the best dental clinic I have been to. I used to go to the dentist only when I feel severe pain or want to do a cleaning. The Doctor is simply extremely talented and professional and his English is perfect. He has a lot of patience and walk you through all the steps of the treatment before operating on you. I had a very bad tooth ache that apparently should have been discovered at least 5 years ago... It was a very difficult treatment and yet I didn’t feel any pain nor discomfort… All the team from reception to the hygienist to the Doctor is caring, kind and talented. I am really relieved I finally found an excellent place that encourages me to regularly check on my teeth and gum health.

I have been to various dentists over the years both in the UK and Japan and it's safe to say this is the best dentist I have ever been to! All the staff are really nice and friendly and Dr. Hiroshi san is extremely knowledgeable and put my mind at ease, I had to find a dentist in Japan for a LOT of treatments so had a browse before choosing this clinic. Definitely the right decision! English speaking is a great bonus!

Amazing dentist and staff, their approach to dentistry is smart and advanced. The education on using interdental brushes for flossing really made a difference in reducing inflammation, plaque buildup and gum bleeding. Staff are kind and friendly, and either speak English or supplement with effective language translators. If you are looking for an excellent dentist office, you've come to the right place!

As many people do, I tend to have a bit of a phobia when it comes to dentists so I don’t go very often- not unless I’m in great pain. 😂👌 Living in Japan combined with my fear and limited grasp of the Japanese language, I was dreading the idea of needing to see a dentist even more until my friend strongly suggested visiting this clinic. I couldn’t be happier. The clinic focuses on preventive care so the whole team is very professional, nice and understanding of my fear. I was seen by Dr. Miyashita who was very patient and understanding. He performed a thorough assessment, explained everything and created a strategic treatment plan with my fear in mind, all in English. Thank you everyone at Tokyo International Dental Clinic Roppongi. ☺️

I was travelling Japan for 20 days and all of the sudden I had a strong pain on my teeth. I was really scared and worried. I looked for an english speaking dentist (I’m from Barcelona). All the stuff in the clinic were so considerated and comprehensive. Also Dra Anna was really helpful because she understood very quickly what I needed (remove the nerve system). I am really grateful for their help.

I was visiting Tokyo and started having terrible tooth pain. Was so lucky to find the TIDC and Dr. Miyashita! After a complete set of x-rays and a thorough explanation, I got my first root canal right then. Dr. Miyashita was patient with answering any questions, and he put me at ease for the procedure. My visit saved my trip, and felt so much better afterwards, thank you!
