Yasuhiko IKO and Chieko kindly picked us up from the train station, and went above and beyond for us. The futon beds were so comfortable. The room and the bathrooms were so good this was the nicest bed and breakfast you could ever hope for! We will be back (second visit to Japan) and we will come straight back here. Beautiful people.

Really nice place and ambiance. The owners are really good, polite, and accommodating. They can pick up at Akabane Station, we check-in really late 23.00 and they still pick us up. They have a pet name Kei-chan who is really friendly and cute. 🥰 will surely come back here

Yasuhiko IKO and his lovely wife had the BEST hospitality we’ve ever had! They kindly picked us up from the train station, showed us around and went above and beyond for us. As we stayed over New Years they made us a special New Year’s Eve supper with homemade plum wine and we had the most amazing traditional New Year’s Day breakfast. Their puppy Keiko was just the cutest addition to this beautiful place. The futon beds were so comfortable and warm, the bathrooms were amazing and the whole environment was the best experience we’ve ever had on a holiday! We were very sad to leave such an amazing place and we will be back one day!

The most amazing owners who picked us up and catered for my gluten free dietary requirements by cooking an amazing breakfast. They were so lovely to talk to and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a traditional stay that is quiet and homely. We will definitely be back! Plus the cute dog is an extra fun add on

Staying at Mokkoan was absolutely wonderful. Not only are the rooms beautiful and comfortable, but the breakfast is delicious and the hosts Yasuhiko and Chieko are incredibly kind and welcoming. The yards are beautiful and the neighbourhood is very tranquil and relaxing with lots of nice izakayas nearby. We will certainly be staying at Mokkoan again on future trips.

We stayed for a week and our hosts were excellent. We were offered lifts to the station and shown local sights that we probably wouldn't have found alone. During breakfast, we would chat with our hosts about our plans for the day and the rest of our holiday, and they were happy to offer advice and suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

I have never stayed in a place where I was made to feel so welcome and appreciated. This place exceeded every expectation. From the character, quality and history of the room and house to the choice of the breakfast, everything was excellent.

Very welcoming atmosphere, the traditional house and its garden is beautiful. A good location for visiting Tokyo, the connection by train to the central area couldn't be better. We warmly recommend this place!
