2022/6/13、紫陽花鑑賞のため参拝しました。
奈良の紫陽花名所でも一番かなと思います。参拝料は紫陽花の時期のみ500円かかります。また別途500円かかりますが、期間限定で本堂特別拝観が可能です。駐車場はありませんが、民営駐車場がいくつかあり、一番近くでも500円でした。
駐車場から境内までは結構な階段を上ります。紫陽花園は本堂の手前にありますが、先に参拝を済ませてから鑑賞するのが良いかと思います。紫陽花園以外にも所々に咲いており、とにかく見応えがあります。
さて、紫陽花園ですが、決して歩きやすい所ではありません。石階段が多く、雨の日は滑りやすいと思われます。また紫陽花が両側から通路にせり出している所もあるので、かき分けて進む必要があります。カチッと手入れされている訳ではありませんが、野性味溢れる雰囲気が魅力です。高低差があるのも立体感を演出しています。
約10,000株の紫陽花が咲き誇ります。関西で紫陽花鑑賞をするのでしたら、ここは外すべきではありません。
